Electronic devices used in the mobile environments fabricated under the plasma conditions in high vacuum system. Especially for the development of advanced electronic devices, high quality plasma as the process conditions are required. For this purpose, the variable conductance throttle valves for controllable plasma employed to the high vacuum system. In this study, we analyzed the effects of throttle valve applications on vacuum characteristics simulated to obtain the optimum design modelling for plasma conditions of high vacuum system. We used commercial simulator of vacuum system, VacSim(multi) on this study. Reliability of simulator verified by simulation of the commercially available models of high vacuum system. Simulated vacuum characteristics of the proposed modelling agreed with the observed experimental behaviour of real systems. Pressure limit valve and normally on-off control valve schematized as the modelling of throttle valve for the constant process-pressure of below 10-3 torr. Simulation results plotted as pump down curve of chamber, variable valve conductance and conductance logic of throttle valve. Simulated behaviors showed the applications of throttle valve sustained the process-pressure constantly, stably, and reliably in plasma process.
This study was conducted to find out physical changes in the blood pressure and saliva cortisol of patients with high blood pressure and diabetes after participating in agro-healing activities. The saliva cortisol and blood pressure of 14 males and females aged 49.79±10.48 on average were measured after participating in agro-healing activities. The saliva collection system was used, and their satisfaction level for the program was also surveyed. Changes in the values before and after participating in the agro-healing activities were compared and analyzed. The cortisol concentration, a stress hormone, was reduced from 6.76nmol/L before the program to 4.86nmol/L after the program, down by 1.9nmol/L, which was a statistically significant difference (z=-3.170, p<.01). In addition, the cortisol concentration was gradually reduced through the entire program from Session 1 to Session 7. Changes in the blood pressure of subjects before and after participating in agro-healing activities were examined, and the total systolic and diastolic blood pressure continuously decreased after participating in agro-healing activities through the entire program from Session 1 to Session 7. Their systolic blood pressure was reduced statistically significantly (z=-1.947, p<.05). Also, participants' satisfaction was analyzed and it was found that more than 95% of participants answered 'satisfied' and 'very satisfied' with agro-healing activities. Therefore, these results indicate that agro-healing activities performed in the healing-farm had a positive impact on the cortisol concentration and blood pressure of patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. In addition, their high satisfaction for this program seemed to improve the psychological and physiological conditions of subjects.
A performance test facility for turbopump inducer cavitation was developed and the inducer cavitation performance tests were performed. Major components of the performance test facility are driving unit, test section, piping, water tank, and data acquisition and control system. The maximum of testing capability of this facility are as follows: flow rate - 30kg/s; pressure - 13 bar; rotational speed 10,000rpm. This cavitation test facility is characterized by the booster pump installed at the outlet of the pump that extends the flow rate range, and by the pressure control system that makes the line pressure down to vapor pressure. The vacuum pump is used for removing the dissolved air in the water as well as the line pressure. Performance tests were carried out and preliminary data of test model inducer were obtained. The cavitation performance test and cavitation bubble flow visualization were also made. This facility is originally designed for turbopump inducer performance test and cavitation test. However it can be applied to the pump impeller performance test in the future with little modification.
Spray structures and penetration lengths of Gasoline, M85, E85, and LPG by a GDI 6-hole fuel injector were examined in a constant volume chamber. The chamber pressure was controlled at 0.1 MPa and 0.9 MPa. The effects of fuel injection pressure and chamber pressure on the spray structures and penetration lengths were investigated using the 2-dimensional Mie scattering technique. It was found that the sprays developed linearly till ASOI 1.7ms after start of injection and vortices were happened around jets on the way of spray development. And the high chamber pressure, 0.9 MPa kept the fuel sprays development down and the penetration length was reduced to about 55% compared with that of 0.1 MPa. In additions high pressure of fuel injection, 12 MPa increased the spray penetration length more about 7~10% than that of 7 MPa.
The fiber reinforced composite material is widely used in the multi-industrial field because of their high specific modulus and specific strength. It has two main merits which are to cut down energy by reducing weight and to prevent explosive damage proceeding to the sudden bursting which is generated by the pressure leakage condition. Therefore, Pressure vessels using this composite material can be applied in the field such as defence industry and aerospace industry. In this paper, for nonlinear finite element analysis of E-glass/epoxy filament winding of composite vessel subjected to internal pressure, the standard interpretation model is developed by using the ANSYS with AutoLISP and ANSYS APDL languages, general commercial software, which is verified as useful characteristic of the solution. Among the modules of the system, both the process planning module for carrying out the process planning of filament wound composite pressure vessel and the autofrettage process module for obtaining higher residual stress will minimize trial and error and reduce the period for developing new products. The system can serve as a valuable system for experts and as a dependable training aid for beginners.
The differential pressure venturi-cone flowmeter is an advanced flowmeter which has many advantages such as wide range of measurement, high accuracy, excellent flow turn-down ratio, low headless, short installation pipe length requirement, and etc. Like other differential pressure flowmeters, the venturi-cone flowmeter uses the law of energy conservation, but its shape and position make it perform better than others. The cone acts as its own flow conditioner and mixer, fully conditioning and mixing the flow prior to measurement. For the analysis, we used Reynolds-averaged Wavier-Stokes equations and k-$\omega$ turbulence model. The equations were fully transformed into the computational domain, the pressure-velocity coupling was made through SIMPLER algorithm, and the equations were discretized using finite analytic solutions of the liberalized equations(Finite Analytic Method). To control the separation phenomenon on the cone surface, we proposed a new shape of cone, and analyzed the flowfield in the new flowmeter system, and found the improvement on the performance of the new cone flowmeter.
Feedwater heaters of many nuclear power plants have recently experienced severe wall thinning damage, which will increase as operating time progresses. Several nuclear power plants in Korea have experienced wall thinning damage in the area around the impingement baffle - installed downstream of the high pressure turbine extraction steam line - inside number 5A and 5B feedwater heaters. At that point, the extracted steam from the high pressure turbine is two phase fluid at high temperature, high pressure, and high speed. Since it flows in reverse direction after impinging the impingement baffle, the shell wall of the number 5 high pressure feedwater heater may be affected by flow-accelerated corrosion. This paper describes the comparisons between the numerical analysis results using the FLUENT code and the down scale experimental data in an effort to determine root causes of the shell wall thinning of the high pressure feedwater heaters. The numerical analysis and experimental data were also confirmed by actual wall thickness measured by an ultrasonic test.

This study aims to find the safe vent area to prevent a destruction of building by gas explosion in a building. Explosion vessel which used in this experiment is 1/5 scale down model of simple livingroom and its dimension is 100cm in length 60cm in width and 45cm in height. Liquified petroleum gas(LPG) was injected to the vessel to the concentration of 4.5vol%, and injection rate were varied in 1L/min or 4L/min. Gas mixture was ignited by the 10kV electric spark. For analysis the characteristics of vented explosion pressure according to the vent size and vent shape, its size and shape were varied. From the experiment, it was found that explosion pressure in the vented explosion :in affected by the gas injection rate, vent area and vent shape. And the vent area to volume ratio(S/V) to prevent the building destruction by explosion pressure, it is recommended that the design of vent area happened by the explosion should be above 1/500cm in S/V. And if the vent area has complicate structure in same area, vented explosion pressure will be higher than a single vent, and possibility of building destruction will increase. Therefore to effectively vent the explosion pressure for protect a building and residents from the gas explosion hazards, the same vent area should have a singular and constant shape in the cross-sectional area of the vessel.
