분사영역과 터빈익형 위치에 따른 표면압 변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Surface Pressure on a Turbine Blade in Partial Admission)

  • 본 연구에서는 직선형 터빈 캐스케이드 장치를 이용하여 분사영역으로 진입하고 퇴각하는 익형의 허브, 평균반경, 팁에 형성되는 표면에서의 압력을 정상상태에서 측정하였다. 익형은 축류형으로 코드가 200mm이며, 분사 노즐은 단면은 사각형으로 그 크기는 $200mm{\times}200mm$이다. 실험은 코드 기준으로 레이놀즈수 $3{\times}10^5$에서 수행되었다. 탈설계 성능을 측정하기 위하여 노즐의 설치각을 $58^{\circ}$, $65^{\circ}$$72^{\circ}$로 변경하면서, 노즐의 설치각 변화에 대한 익형에서 표면압 변화의 특성을 파악하였다. 또한 현절비를 1.25, 1.38, 1.67로 변경하면서 현절비 변화에 대한 익형의 표면압 변화를 측정하였다. 실험의 결과에서 익형이 분사영역으로 진입할 때 현절비가 적을수록 흡입면에서는 표면압력의 감소가 발생되었고 낮은 노즐설치각인 경우에는 역회전방향의 힘이 형성되었다. 아울러 양의 입사각으로 익형이 분사영역으로 진입할 때 흡입면의 앞부분에 낮은 압력이 형성되었다.

Control of Pump Performance with Attaching Flaps on Blade Trailing Edges

  • An innovative method of changing a centrifugal low specific speed pump performance and pressure fluctuation by applying outlet flaps to impeller exit has been investigated. The outlet blade edge section corresponds to the trailing edge of wing on the circular-cascade, which dominates the pump performance and pressure fluctuation. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of the entire impeller and volute casing and an experimental investigation are conducted. The pressure fluctuation and the vibration of the shaft are measured simultaneously. Kurtosis is applied as a dimensionless parameter with which the unevenness of velocity distribution at impeller outlet is indicated. The influence of the flaps on the pressure fluctuation is explained by the kurtosis. This paper presents a theoretical method of predicting the pump performance related to the attachment of a flap at impeller outlet.

  • The effects of unsteady flow on gas turbine, particularly on a rotor blade surface are numerically investigated. The unsteady flow in a rotor blade passage as a result of wake/blade interaction is modeled by the inviscid flow approach, and solved by the Euler equations using a time accurate marching scheme, Numerical results show that for the case of $P_s/ P_r= 1.5$, the velocity and pressure distribution on the blade surfaces have much more complex profiles than those of $P_s/ P_r= 1.0$.

Design and Analysis of a Controlled Diffusion Aerofoil Section for an Axial Compressor Stator and Effect of Incidence Angle and Mach No. on Performance of CDA

  • This paper deals with the Design and Analysis of a Controlled Diffusion Aerofoil (CDA) Blade Section for an Axial Compressor Stator and Effect of incidence angle and Mach No. on Performance of CDA. CD blade section has been designed at Axial Flow Compressor Research Lab, Propulsion Division of National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Bangalore, as per geometric procedure specified in the U.S. patent (4). The CFD analysis has been performed by a 2-D Euler code (Denton's code), which gives surface Mach No. distribution on the profiles. Boundary layer computations were performed by a 2-D boundary layer code (NALSOF0801) available in the SOFFTS library of NAL. The effect of variation of Mach no. was performed using fluent. The surface Mach no. distribution on the CD profile clearly indicates lower peak Mach no. than MCA profile. Further, boundary layer parameters on CD aerofoil at respective incidences have lower values than corresponding MCA blade profile. Total pressure loss on CD aerofoil for the same incidence range is lower than MCA blade profile.

  • 차량의 유리면에 설치된 와이퍼 시스템은 비나 눈이 올때 운전자의 시야를 확보해주는 중요한 도구이다. 블레이드는 유리면 위의 물체를 닦아내는 가장 중요한 도구이다. 와이퍼 암의 스프링이 블레이드를 유리면 위에 누를 때, 적절한 누름압이 유지되어야 최적의 성능을 얻을 수 있다. 이번 연구에서는 전체 와이퍼 시스템에 대한 동적 해석이 이루어졌다. 상용 구조 동역학 해석 프로그램인 SAMCEF를 이용하여 와이퍼 시스템의 3차원 유한 요소 모델이 생성되었다. 동적 상태에서 블레이드의 누름압의 분포가 계산되었다. 그리고 시뮬레이션 결과를 실험 결과와 비교를 하였다. 이번 연구의 결과를 이용하여 블레이드의 누름압 분포를 예측해 볼 수 있다.

원심 다익홴의 유동에 대한 컷 오프 각도의 영향 (Effect of Cut-off Angle on Flow Pattern of Centrifugal Multi-blade Fan)

  • This study investigated on details of flow characteristics of a multi-blade fan for domestic ventilation. Experiments and analysis were carried out to describe on flow pattern with variations of cut-off angle near the scroll housing throat, which were performed by PIV measurement for the flow field and by total pressure probes. The stagnation point at cut-off region of the fan moves to the exit of the scroll housing as the cut-off angle increases. The movement of stagnation point and the variation of throat area of the scroll housing influence to the distribution of velocity magnitude at the exit of the fan. Furthermore, a large distortion of the velocity distribution at the scroll exit causes to increase mixing loss along the flow path.

스퀼러팁을 이용한 가스터빈 내에서의 3차원 유동 및 열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (Numerical Investigation of Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics on the Gas Turbine Blade with a Squealer Tip)

  • In this paper, a numerical simulation of three-dimensional flow field and heat transfer coefficient distribution are conducted for two types of gas turbine blade with plane and squealer tips. The numerical results show that gas turbine blade with squealer tip considerably changes the flow structures near the tip regions of pressure and suction sides, so the overall heat transfer coefficients on the tip and shroud with squealer tip are lower than those with the plane tip blade. Finally, the effect of tip gap clearance on the flow field and heat transfer characteristics are investigated.

Rotor Blade Sweep Effect on the Performance of a Small Axial Supersonic Impulse Turbine

  • In this paper, a computational study was conducted in order to investigate the rotor blade sweep effect on the aerodynamics of a small axial supersonic impulse turbine stage. For this purpose, three-dimensional unsteady RANS simulations have been performed with three different rotor blade sweep angles ($-15^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$, $+15^{\circ}$) and the results were compared with each other. Both NTG (No tip gap) and WTG (With tip gap) models were applied to examine the effect on tip leakage flow. As a result of the simulation, the positive sweep model ($+15^{\circ}$) showed better performance in relative flow angle, Mach number distribution, entropy rise, and tip leakage mass flow rate compared with no sweep model. With the blade static pressure distribution result, the positive sweep model showed that hub and tip loading was increased and midspan loading was reduced compared with no sweep model while the negative sweep model ($-15^{\circ}$) showed the opposite result. The positive sweep model also showed a good aerodynamic performance around the hub region compared with other models. Overall, the positive sweep angle enhanced the turbine efficiency.

차량용 와이퍼 블레이드의 접촉압력 해석모델 개발 (Development of Contact Pressure Analysis Model of Automobile Wiper Blades)

  • A wiper is a safety device removing rain and debris from windshield and ensuring visibility of drivers. If contact pressure distribution between rubber of the blade and the windshield is unbalanced, unwanted noise, vibration, and abrasion of the blade can occur and sometimes fatal accidents could occur. To improve the safety of the wiper, there have been many researches on the contact pressure analysis of the wiper, but the analysis results were not converged or require much computational time due to material nonlinearity of the rubber and contact conditions between the blade rubber and the windshield. In this research, a simple model with 1D beam and 2D shell elements was used for the contact pressure analysis instead of the 3D blade model. The simplified model saved computational time of the analysis and resolved convergence problems. The accuracy of the analysis results was verified by comparing them with experimental results for different rail spring curvatures.

  • 고온 환경에서 작동하는 가스터빈 블레이드의 열부하 감소를 위해 다양한 냉각법이 적용되고 있다. 블레이드 외부에서는 작은 홀을 통해 저온의 냉각유체를 분사시키는 막냉각법이 사용되는데, 블레이드 내부의 정확한 온도 예측을 위해서는 작동 조건과 위치에 따른 막냉각 효율을 정확히 산출하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 압력에 따라 반사되는 빛의 강도를 달리하는 압력감응페인트를 이용하여 평판에서의 막냉각 효율을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 압력감응페인트를 이용한 막냉각 계수 측정법은 상세한 막냉각 계수의 분포를 측정 가능케 하였다. 0.5, 1, 2의 세 가지 분사비가 실험에 적용되었고, 분사비가 커질수록 막냉각 홀 근처의 막냉각 계수는 감소하였지만 하류의 막냉각 계수는 증가하였다.
