Differential pressure devices such as an orifice and Venturi are widely used in the measurement of flow rate of fluid mainly due to cost effectiveness and easy installation. In the current study, the viscoelastic effect on discharge and loss coefficients of those flow meters were investigated experimentally. Aqueous solutions of Polyacrylamide (200, 500, and 800 ppm) as viscoelastic fluids were used. Discharge coefficient of an orifice for viscoelastic fluids increased significantly up to approximately 15-20% when compared with that for water, while loss coefficient decreased up to 10-25% depending on the diameter ratio, .betha.. Also, pressure recovery for viscoelastic fluids was extended much longer than that for water. On the other hand, discharge and loss coefficients of Venturi for viscoelastic fluids were found to be strongly dependent on the Reynolds number. In both flow meters, the concentration effect for discharge and loss coefficients was not observed at more over than 200 ppm of aqueous solution. Conclusively, orifice and Venturi flow meters should be calibrated very carefully in the flow rate measurement for viscoelastic fluids.

Water injection pump produced the 1st oil well through the high pressure after the Deep water oil well drilling. After finish the work it is hard to produce only using itself pressure due to low pressure. Therefore it can be increased recovery factor through the injection seawater of high pressure. Is the key equipment used in the marine plant and it is developing at many industries. In this paper, Analyze changes in the natural frequency due to the stiffness of the bearing. Analyze the critical speed of the natural frequency due to the change of operation speed. And evaluate the Stability. And then analyze the displacement and clearance through the unbalance response this way has contributed to the reliability of the developing product. Through a mathematical analysis.
The present study investigated two-phase flow distribution and phase separation of R-22 refrigerant through various types of branch tubes. The key experimental parameters were the orientation of inlet and branch tubes (horizontal and vertical), diameter ratio of branch tube to inlet tube (1 and 0.61), mass flux (200-500 kg/㎡s), and inlet quality (0.1-0.4). The predicted local pressure profile in the tube with junction was compared and generally agreed with the measured data. The local pressure profile within the pressure recovery region after the junction has to be carefully investigated for modeling the pressure drop through the branch. The equal flow distribution case can be found by adjusting the orientation of the inlet and branch tubes and the diameter ratio of the branch tube to the inlet tube. The T-junction with horizontal inlet and branch tubes showed the nearly equal phase distribution ratio. The quality at the branch tube varied from 0 to 1 as the orientation of the branch tube changed, while it varied within${\pm}$50% as the orientation of the inlet tube changed.

Shock-wave in a supersonic diffuser flow cannot be stable even in the given pressure ratio which remains constant over time, and oscillates around a certain time-mean position. In the present study, oscillation of a normal shock-wave in a supersonic diffuser was analyzed by a small perturbation method. Upstream pressure perturbation was applied to a supersonic diffuser flow with a normal shock-wave. Stability of shock-wave was investigated by considering the diffuser pressure recovery and frequency of the pressure perturbation. The results obtained show that a stable oscillation of weak normal shock-wave is obtainable for the flow with the Mach number over 1.74. The ratio of sound pressures downstream to upstream of the shock wave increases with increase of the Mach number. The present results agree well with other analytical and experimental results.

As the demand for lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles is increasing, it is important to recover valuable metals from waste lithium-ion batteries. In this study, the effects of gas flow rate and hydrogen partial pressure on hydrogen reduction of NCM-based lithium-ion battery cathode materials were investigated. As the gas flow rate and hydrogen partial pressure increased, the weight loss rate increased significantly from the beginning of the reaction due to the reduction of NiO and CoO by hydrogen. At 700 ℃ and hydrogen partial pressure above 0.5 atm, Ni and Li2O were produced by hydrogen reduction. From the reduction product and Li recovery rate, the hydrogen reduction of NCM-based cathode materials was significantly affected by hydrogen partial pressure. The Li compounds recovered from the solution after water leaching of the reduction products were LiOH, LiOH·H2O, and Li2CO3, with about 0.02 wt% Al as an impurity.

This study aims to enhance the understanding of the surface pressure distribution around rectangular bodies, by considering aspects such as the suction pressure at the leading edge on the top and side faces when the body aspect ratio and wind direction are changed. We carried out wind tunnel measurements and numerical simulations of flow around a series of rectangular bodies (a cube and two rectangular bodies) that were placed in a deep turbulent boundary layer. Based on a modern numerical platform, the Navier-Stokes equations with the typical two-equation model (i.e., the standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model) were solved, and the results were compared with the wind tunnel measurement data. Regarding the turbulence model, the results of the $k-{\varepsilon}$ model are in overall agreement with the experimental results, including the existing data. However, because of the blockage effects in the computational domain, the pressure recovery region is underpredicted compared to the experimental data. In addition, the $k-{\varepsilon}$ model sometimes will fail to capture the exact flow features. The primary emphasis in this study is on the flow characteristics around rectangular bodies with various aspect ratios and approaching wind directions. The aspect ratio and wind direction influence the type of wake that is generated and ultimately the structural loading and pressure, and in particular, the structural excitation. The results show that the surface pressure variation is highly dependent upon the approaching wind direction, especially on the top and side faces of the cube. In addition, the transverse width has a substantial effect on the variations in surface pressure around the bodies, while the longitudinal length has less influence compared to the transverse width.

This study investigated the effects of changes to the pulsation factor of pulsed direct currents on wound healing. Patients with a pressure ulcer at a care hospital for the elderly were randomly divided into three groups: Group 1 involved the application of $100{\mu}s$ in pulse duration, 10 ms in pulse period, 100 pps in a pulsation factor, 15 mA in pulse amplitude, and polarity red+ by using pulsed direct currents; Group 2 involved a change of pulse period to 8 ms; and Group 3 received general wound management. Although there were no statistically significant differences in the changing stages of pressure ulcers among the groups, all the groups dropped in numerical stages. In the two groups to which pulsed direct currents were applied, there was a statistically significant reduction in the stages of pressure ulcers from the initial assessment to the 12-week assessment (p<.05). Even though there were no statistically significant differences in changes to the area of pressure ulcers among the groups, a statistically significant decrease was found in pulsed direct current group 2 whose pulse period was shortened (p<.05). There was no difference in the healing rate of pressure ulcers among the groups, but it made a numerical increase in pulsed direct current group 1 and group 2 and a numerical decrease in group 3. There were no significant differences in the characteristics of those who had a full recovery among the groups. Those findings indicate that pulsed direct currents have positive effects on the wound healing of patients with a pressure ulcer and that a treatment with pulsed direct currents whose pulsation factor is raised by reducing the pulse duration is especially effective.
A post-irradiation annealing study was conducted with use of reactor pressure vessel(RPV) steel A533B Cl.1 base metal irradiated to a dose of 4.84$\times$10$^{18}$ n/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at about 38$0^{\circ}C$. Microhardness and positron annihilation (PA) methods were used to obtain better understanding of the recovery of radiation hardening. Isochronal anneal experiments indicated that two recovery processes occur during annealing of irradiated specimens. The first recovery process occurs in the temperature range of 280-3O5$^{\circ}C$, Michrohardness and positron annihilation (PA) methods were used to obtain better understanding of the recovery of radiation hardening. Isochronal anneal experiments indicated that two recovery processes occur during annealing of irradiated specimens. The first recovery process occurrs in the temperature range of 280-305$^{\circ}C$. The variations of Ip, Iw and R parameters indicated that the formation of vacancy clusters by vacancy agglomeration and the annihilation of monovacancies are the first recovery process. The second recovery process occurs in the range of 405-49$0^{\circ}C$ and positron annihilation parameters measured indicated that the dissolution of carbon atoms decorated around vacancy-type defects and possible precipitates, and the annihilation of monovacancies give rise to the second recovery process. It was further indicated that radiation anneal hardening (RAH) in the range of 305-405$^{\circ}C$ between the temperature ranges for the two processes occurs due to the formation of carbon-decorated vacancy clusters and precipitates. The activation energies, orders of reaction and other characteristics of recovery processes were determined by the Meechan-Brinkman method. The activation energy for the first recovery process was determined as 1.76 eV and that for the second recovery process as 2.00eV. These values are lower than those obtained by other workers. This difference may be attributed to the lower copper content of the RPV steel used in the present study. The order of reaction for the first recovery process was determined as 1.78, while that for the second recovery process as 1.67 Non-integer orders of reaction for recovery processes seem to be attributed to the fact that several mechanisms for the first order and the second order of reaction are compounded in one process. This result also supports for the above conclusions from measurements of PA parameters.
Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology coupled with underground carbon dioxide sequestration is introduced. $CO_2$ can be injected into an oil reservoir in order to enhance oil production rate and $CO_2$ EOR can be turned into CCS in a long term sense. Coupling $CO_2$ EOR with CCS may secure a large scale and consistent $CO_2$ source for EOR, and the $CO_2$ EOR can bring an additional economic benefit for CCS, since the benefit from enhanced oil production by $CO_2$ EOR will compensate costs for CCS implementation. In this paper, we introduced the characteristics of $CO_2$ EOR technology and its market prospect, and reviewed the Weyburn $CO_2$ EOR project which is the first large-scale $CO_2$ EOR case utilizing an anthropogenic $CO_2$ source. We also introduced geotechnical elements for a successful and economical implementation of $CO_2$ EOR with CCS and they were a miscroseismic monitoring during and after injection of $CO_2$, and determination of minimum miscible pressure (MMP) and maximum injection pressure (MIP) of $CO_2$.

In this study, applicability of the decentralized water supply system were investigated by the high flux evaluation using ceramic membrane with combined pretreatment process. A) filtration process increased the transmembrane pressure of 1.4 kPa and 89.5 kPa on 2 and $5m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$ of filtration flux, respectively, the physical backwashing recovery rate were less than 28.6%. The (B) Coag./Floc. - Sedi. combined process with 4 mg / L of A-PAC showed that the transmembrane pressure increased to within 6 kPa, the physical backwashing recovery rate was over 37.9 % higher than (A) Filtration process. (C) Coag./Floc. combined process showed an increase of transmembrane pressure compared with (B) Coag./Floc. - Sedi. combined process, physical backwashing recovery rate was over 84%. As a result of the membrane fouling analysis using the resistance in series model, the combined pretreatment process showed that the cake resistance (Rc) was more than 92% at membrane filtration flux of $2m^3/m^2{\cdot}d$. In the (C) Coag./Floc. combined process, cake resistance(Rc) was over 86% on high flux conditions. The coagulation floc contained in influent was removed by the membrane, and the cake layer formed with the removed floc was identified as reversible fouling resistance which could be recovered by physical backwashing. The decentralized water supply system, which has the limitation of site area and installation space, is considered to could be operation of high flux of ceramic membrane by applying (C) Coag./Floc. combined process without sedimentation process.
