고온 안정성이 우수한 자동차 LED용 Red CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ 형광체/Glass 세라믹 복합체 개발 (Development of Red CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ Phosphor in Glass Ceramic Composite for Automobile LED with High Temperature Stability)

  • Red phosphor in glasses (PiGs) for automotive light-emitting diode (LED) applications were fabricated with 620-nm $CaAlSiN_3:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor and Pb-free silicate glass. PiGs were synthesized and mounted on high-power blue LED to make a monochromatic red LED. PiGs were simple mixtures of red phosphor and transparent glass powder. After being fabricated with uniaxial press and CIP at 300 MPa for 20 min, the green bodies were thermally treated at $550^{\circ}C$ for 30 min to produce high dense PiGs. As the phosphor content increased, the density of the sintered body decreased and PiGs containing 30% phosphor had a full sintered density. Changes in photoluminescence spectra and color coordination were studied by varying the thickness of plates that were mounted after optical polishing. As a result of the optical spectrum and color coordinates, PiG plate with $210{\mu}m$ thickness showed a color purity of 99.7%. In order to evaluate the thermal stability, the thermal quenching characteristics were measured at temperatures of $30{\sim}150^{\circ}C$. The results showed that the red PIG plates were 30% more thermally stable compared to the AlGaInP red chip.

고온-고압하에서 티탄철석에 대한 상면이 연구 (Phase Transition Study on Ilmenite under High Pressure and Temperature)

  • 고온-고압 상태에서 티탄철석 ($FeTiO_3$)의 상변이에 대한 연구가 있었으나, 그 결과는 서로 일치하지 않고 있다. 특히, 티탄철석상과 페롭스카이트상의 상변이 경계는 담금방법에 의해 결정된 것으로 신뢰도에 의문이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 고온-고압 현장상태에서 라지 볼륨 기기와 방사광을 이용하여 19 GPa와 $700^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 X선 회절실험을 시행하였다. 이러한 실험결과, 페롭스카이트상은 상온에서 16 CPa 이상의 압력에서 안정하며, 15 CPa 근처에서 $LiNbO_3$상으로 변이한다. 또한 이 두 고온-고압상은 $500^{\circ}C$에서는 순간적인 상변이를 하고 있다. $LiNbO_3$상은 각각 13 CPa 및 300'E와 10.8 GPa 및 400'E에서 티탄철석상으로 상변이 한다. 따라서 본 실험결과는 $LiNbO_3$상은 고온-고압하에서 안정 영역을 확보하고 있으며, 페롭스카이트-티탄철석상경계는 이전에 발표된 결과와는 매우 다르다는 것을 지시해주고 있다.

철강용 고성능 알칼리세정제의 제조 및 세정거동 (Preparation and Behavior of High Performance Alkaline Cleaning Agents for Steel)

  • $Na_2CO_3$. Sodium orthosilicate (Na-OSi), Tetronix T-701 (T-701), Na-dioctyl sulfosuccinate (303C), Newpol PE-68 (PE-68), MJU-100A, and tetrasodium pyrophosphate were blended to prepare high performance alkaline cleaning agents (ACASs). The results of cleaning test with steel specimen showed that ACAS-6 ($Na_2CO_3$ 50g/Na-OSi 35g/T-701 20g/303C 18g/PE-68 17g/MJU-100A 10g/TSPP 20g/ water 180g mixture) had a good cleaning power. The cleaning power for press-rust preventing oil was 98% and 99% degreasing at 4wt%, $70^{\circ}C$ and $90^{\circ}C$, respectively ; for quenching oil, the cleaning power of ACAS-6 was 91% degreasing at 4wt% and $70^{\circ}C$. The foam heights measured immediately after foaming by Ross & Miles method and Ross & Clark method at 6wt%, $60^{\circ}C$ were 18mm and 65mm, respectively. It was concluded that ACAS-6 had a good low foaming cleaning agent.

Microstructural and corrosion behavior of D3 tools steel and 440C SS for blade application

  • D3 tools steel and 440C stainless steel (SS) are normally being employed for application such as knife blade and cutting tools. These steels are iron alloys which have high carbon and high chromium content. In this study, lab work focused on the microstructural and corrosion behavior of D3 tools steel and 440C SS after went through heat treatment processes. Heat treatments for both steels were started with normalizing at 1020 ℃, continue with hardening at 1000 ℃followed by oil quenching. Cryogenic treatment was carried out in liquid nitrogen for 24 hours. The addition of cryogenic heat treatment is believed to increase the hardness and corrosion resistance for steels. Both samples were then tempered at two different tempering temperatures, 160 ℃ and 426 ℃. For corrosion test, the samples were immersed in NaCl solution for 30 days to study the corrosion behavior of D3 tool steel and 440C SS after heat treatment. The mechanical properties of these steels have been investigated using Rockwell hardness machine before heat treatment, after heat treatment (before corrosion) and after corrosion test. Microstructure observation of samples was carried out by scanning electron microscopy. The corrosion rate of these steels was calculated after the corrosion test completed. From the results, the highest hardness is observed for D3 tool steel which tempered at 160 ℃(54.1 HRC). In terms of microstructural analysis, primary carbide and pearlite in the as-received samples transform to tempered martensite and cementite after heat treatment process. From this research, for corrosion test, heat treated 440C SS sample tempered with 426 ℃possessed the excellent corrosion resistance with corrosion rate 0.2808 mm/year.

Nd-Fe-B-Co계 급냉리본과 Bond 자석의 자기적 성질 (Magenetic Properties of Nd-Fe-B-Co-based Melt-spun Ribbons an dTheir Bonded Magents)

  • Nd-Fe-B계에 Co와 Al을 첨가한 자석합금을 진공유도용해로에서 제조하여 이들 합금을 단롤법으로 melt-spun시켜 급냉리본을 얻었다. 제작된 급냉리본의 냉각속도에 따른 자기적 성질의 변화를 조사하였고, 최적의 급냉속도에서 제작된 리본을 파쇄하여 resin bond 자석을 제조하였으며, 이들 급냉리본 및 bond자석의 자기적 성질, 미세구조, 결정구조에 관하여 연구, 조사하였다. 이들 급냉리본의 자기적 성질은 급냉속도에 따라 크게 변하였으며 20m/sec전후에서 최적의 자기적 성질을 보였다. 이때의 급냉리본의 미세조직은 Nd-rich의 입계상이 미세한 N$d_2$F$e_14$B결정립을 둘러싼 cell 형의 구조였으며, 특히 Al이 2.1at%첨가된 리본시료에서는 iHc=15.5KOe, Br=7.8KG, (BH)max=8.5MGOe의 자기적 성질을 나타내었다. 최적의 급냉속도에서 제작된 리본을 polyamide resin과 2.5wt%의 비율로 혼합하여 상온에서 성형, 결합시켜 제작한 bond자석에서 보다 현저히 향상되었으며 유지시간이 8분인 경우 iHc=10.8KOe, Br=7.3KG, (BH)max=8.0MGOe의 값을 가졌다. 한편, 자구구조는 maze pattern이 주로 관찰되어 자화용이축인 C축이 배열되었으며 bond자석에서보다 hot-press 자석에서 자구폭이 보다 작았다.
