  • In the sheet metal forming using a high speed press machine, driving device, such as crank, link, and knuckle mechanism, has to be designed in consideration of impact at a moment when press die contact with material, because the impact affects a dimensional accuracy of products and a life span of press die. In this study, dynamic analysis was performed using numerical simulation in order to verify the impact reduction effect for proposed double knuckle mechanism by estimating rolling and pitching moment of slide.

  • To apply induction hardening method to a press die having 3-D free surface, the induction hardening tool moves on a press die above 1~2mm gap with constant velocity. Since the induction hardening process requires its own hardening path for each die, a direct teaching method which generates working path directly guided by operators is more suitable than an offline method using CAD/CAM data.   • In this paper, The experimental study on the crack during press forming of the door latch assembly for a vehicle door is performed. Length to be inserted into the conventional mold upper die punch is 20 mm, wherein the cracks are generated on the product surface and causes a secondary quality problem. In this study, the length to be inserted in the mold upper die punch 0 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm, which was changed to perform the experiment. Through the experiment, the length inserted into the mold can be seen that the upper die punch of the press forming conditions optimized when the 0 mm.

  • The progressive die are multiple operations performed by means of a die having above two stages, on the each of stages performs a different operation as the sheet metal passes through the die hole. In the field of design and making tool for press working, the progressive die for sheet metal (STS 304, thickness : 0.5mm) is a specific division. In order to prevent the defects, the optimum design of the production part, strip layout, die design, die making and tryout etc. are necessary. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, I. e. theory and practice of metal press working and its phenomena, die structure, machining condition for die making, die materials, heat treatment of die components, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and constructed a progressive die of multi-stage and performed try out. Out of these processes the die development could be taken for advance. Especially the result of tryout and its analysis become the characteristics of this paper (part 1 and part 2) that nothing might be ever seen before such as this type of research method on all the processes. In the part 1 of this study we treated die design mostly.

씨마트론 E 다이 디자인을 활용한 스트립레이아웃 설계 (Design of the strip layout using E die design of Cimatron)

  • It is important factor to design the strip layout drawing according to product properties in press die design. Press dies are important processes in production such as a car component, house electronics, computer parts etc. In this paper, the strip layout of parts was designed for transfer dies. Results of this study can be modify the punch, trim position and notching shapes of strip layout. Utilization ratio was 70.3% by conducting piercing and notching for scrap design and materials were arranged with wide width of blank layout.

8각 아웃렛 박스 제조용 금형 및 주변기기 개발 (Developing die and Peripheral Equipment Used for the Manufacture of Octagonal Outlet Boxes)

  • 본 논문은 8각 아웃렛 박스 제조용 수동 금형을 2벌의 금형으로 자동화한 것에 관한 연구이다. 8각 아웃렛 박스는 건축물의 전선관용 스위치 박스 또는 배선 연결용 박스이다. 이 박스를 제조 할 때는 제 1차 프레스에서 성형하고 제 2-6차 프레스로 8각 아웃렛 박스의 4측면 가공과 벤딩을 하게 되므로 프레스 6대, 금형 6벌, 작업자 7명을 필요로 한다. 이 때문에 인건비 과다발생, 생산속도 저조, 불량률 $10\%$ 이상 발생, 제조원가 상승의 요인이 되고 있으며, 프레스의 굉음과 진동 및 안전사고의 위험 등으로 작업자들이 직무를 기피하고 있다. 이러한 현상을 없애기 위해 금형 5벌을 1벌의 금형에 통합시킨 캠금형 개발과 자동이송장치를 개발하였다. 그 결과 프레스 2대와 금형 2벌로 무인화 작업을 할 수 있게 되어 직무기피요인을 해소하게 되고 제조원가 절감효과를 얻게 되었다.

와이어 컷 방전가공 시 프레스금형 수명 향상에 대한 고찰 (A Study for the Improvement of the Life Cycle of Press Die using Wire Cut Discharge Machining)

  • 프레스금형 제작 시 사용목적에 맞는 적합한 소재선택과 빠른 가공방법에 대한 연구는 금형제작시간을 줄이고 금형원가를 절감하는데 절대적으로 필요한 연구분야이다. 특히 장수명 프레스금형을 개발하기 위해선 열에 대한 고찰이 반드시 이루어져야 한다. 일반적으로 프레스금형의 주요부품 소재로는 Cr, W계 저합금 공구강, 고탄소 고크롬강, 고속도강 등 냉간 금형용 합금공구강이 많이 쓰이고 있다. 프레스금형부품을 가공하는 데는 주로 공작기계와 와이어 컷 방전가공을 사용하고 있다. 가공공정에 따라 금형부품의 가공시간 및 수명이 많은 차이가 난다. 밀링가공과 연삭가공으로 제작된 부품의 경우 제작시간과 비용은 많이 드는데 비해 금형의 수명이 길고 밀링가공과 와이어 컷 방전가공을 사용하면 제작시간과 비용은 절감되는 반면 금형수명은 줄어드는 현상이 나타난다. 따라서 본 연구에선 가공시간과 비용이 절감되는 가공방법으로 열처리를 사용하여 금형의 사용수명을 향상시키는 방법에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 밀링가공-연삭가공, 밀링가공-와이어 컷 방전가공, 밀링가공-와이어 컷-고온템퍼링, 3가지 가공방법으로 시편을 제작하여 가공표면과 중심부를 SEM, EDS분석 및 표면조도분석으로 문제점을 고찰하였고 밀링가공-와이어 컷 방전가공-고온템퍼링의 가공방법으로 밀링가공-연삭가공과 동일한 금형의 수명을 만드는 방법을 도출하였다.
