Since 1995, the small and medium enterprise introduced the Quality Innovation Program that is called 100PPM Quality Renovation Program. A point of 2000, the program's name was changed by Single PPM Quality Innovation Program in pursuit of defects below 10ppm in outgoing quality. Nowaday 1,651 companies is received Single PPM Quality Certification from government at the end of 2008. On the other side, the return or withdrawal of certification is going on because of various reasons. In this study, we analyse the status of certification's preservation and cancellation, and suggest the cooperation ideas between government and companies.

Food irradiation is increasingly recognized as the sole viable alternative to traditional method of food preservation in terms of reducing the overall quantity of spoiled food, reducing energy used in food storage, and reducing reliance on chemicals known to be hazardous but currently required for disinfestation. Irradiation with ionizing radiation can be applied in the fields of sprout inhibition, disinfestation of insects, sterilization, delay of ripening, and improvement of organoleptic properties in food. In order to back up the commercialization of food irradiation in Korea, this review not only dealt with the international background for food irradiation and wholesomeness of irradiated food, but also evaluated economic feasibility of irradiated food, irradiation facilities, and domestic status of food irradiation studies.

Since 1997, Korean government changed the status of extension educators from central government staff to county/city government staff for the sake of democratization and localization, regardless of opposition of academic society of extension professionals. Localization of extension educators followed by government restructuring in Korea, resulted various problems, such as 1) Decreased morale and number of extension educators, thus weakening the extension educational function, 2) Weakened linkages between national and local extension offices, 3) Less opportunity for in-service edition of extension educators, 4) Weakened linkages between agricultural research and extension, etc. During the last 30 years, extension services have helped Korean farmers in achieving self sufficiency of rice and year around supply of green vegetables by diffusion of vinyl house technology. Various problems after three years of localization of extension educators were discussed between announcer of radio KBS and a professor of extension in an interview format, and it was concluded that national efforts should be needed to restore morale of extension educators to continually achieve the national goals of food production, balanced national development and preservation of environment, at the same time to meet increasing needs of farmers.

As the antioxidant and free radical scavenger, glutathione (GSH) participates in the preservation of cellular redox status and defense against reactive oxygen species and xenobiotics. Glutamate-cysteine ligase (GCL; also known as ${\gamma}$-glutamylcysteine synthetase, EC 6.3.2.2) is the rate limiting enzyme in GSH synthesis. In the present study, the accurate method for determination of GCL activity in crude liver extracts was developed by measuring both ${\gamma}$-glutamylcysteine and GSH from cysteine in the presence of glutamate, glycine and an ATP-generating system. We added glycine to promote the conversion of ${\gamma}$-glutamylcysteine to GSH, and to minimize the possibility of ${\gamma}$-glutamylcysteine metabolism to cysteine and oxoproline by ${\gamma}$-glutamylcyclotransferase. We established optimal conditions and substrate concentrations for the enzyme assay, and verified that inhibition of GCL by GSH did not interfere with this assay. Therefore, this assay of hepatic GCL under optimal conditions could provide a more accurate measurement of this enzyme activity in the crude liver extracts.

The preservation of the voice-producing mechanism is an important feature in the management of laryngeal cancer by radiotherapy. But, radiation therapy has certain side effects such as mucositis, tissue edema, necrosis and fibrosis which could effect on normal voice production. Several subjective studies that used questionnaires and auditory perceptual judgements of voice have been interpreted to mean that radiation results in a normal or near-normal voice. Objective evidence of the status of vocal function after radiation treatment, however, is still lacking. We analyzed the changes that occur in voice parameters in a group of patients undergoing radiation therapy, in order to determine the effect of radiation on voice quality. In this study acoustic, aerodynamic measures of vocal function were used to determine the characteristics of voice production. We found that voice parameters in early glottic cancer changed meaningfully comparing to normal larynx with or without radiation and radiation therapy has an little effect on normal larynx.

China is the largest rice producer in the world, with about 28 million hectares rice-planting area. Most of the rice is consumed domestically as daily staple food, with a small proportion consumed as feed and deep-processed products. The low elastic elasticity and low profit of rice production which hampers the development of the industry, is due to the low quality of rice grain, low processing level and undeveloped rice processing technique. Promotion of high-quality species, effective quality control, adoption of modem Processing techniques, My use of low-quality indica rice, and utilization of specialty rice are considered as priorities in rice industry.

The rural traditional houses in Taebaek mountainous regions play important roles in figuring out values and social aspects of past time including housing life. But due to the introduction of convenient facilities in the current housing life style after industrialized society, many transformations have been taken place even to exist rural traditional folk houses such as installation of new equipment and furniture, the arrangement and function change of rooms, expansion of residential area and etc. So this study aims to secure basic data to prepare installation standard of the convenient facilities as examining convenience facility installation status of the cultural asset designated as rural traditional house, and to identify the meaning and usage of major room of rural traditional houses in order to prepare the proper balances between its original form preservation and residents' convenience living.

While the technique of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer has been proven undoutedly, it is for from reaching a consensus on the legal implication. Legal authority regarding clinical therapeutic In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer is, for all practical purpose, nonexistant. In this paper, it is discussed existing regulation dealing with In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer and related areas i.e. the regulation related medical technologies, the use of donor sperm, donor eggs, surrogate uteri, multiple pregnancy, miscarriages, extra embryos, the technique of cryopreservation. The legality of embryo donation, the responsibility for embryo preservation or destruction and the legal status of the embryos are surveyed. Finally the various legal theories that may give rise to physician liability in connection with clinical In Vitro Fertilization are also reviewed.

It may be fully known that Korea is the main producing country of pine tree form the pan-Asian viewpoint of the geographical distribution of the pine tree. Through the study on the reason why the pine tree became a tree of the maximum cover degree in Korea and the observation of natural preservation status of all sorts of trees in the DMZ area for nearly 20 years after the Korean Armistice, it has come to know that almost all of the pine tree were banished. This phenomenon has been resulted by the ecological characteristics of the pine tree itself which has no sprouting power at all, war disasters, deforestation and incendiary fire that have been steadily occurred until now since the time of Armistice.
