Present Condition and Preferences on Design Factors for Well-Being Apartments (웰빙아파트 계획요소의 도입현황과 선호도)

  • The purposes of this study were to summarize the concept of well-being and well-being apartment, to grasp the present condition of apartments which were introduced with well-being factors, and to find out the consumer preferences of design factors for well-being apartment. Library and internet surveys were performed to summarize the concept of well-being and well-being apartment and to grasp the present condition of apartments which were introduced with well-being factors. Questionnaire survey was carried out from 2nd to 22nd of June 2005, to investigate the preferences of design factors for well-being apartment, and the respondents were 250 residents living in urban area. As major result, the design factors haying the preference were revealed as complex design, sports & health facility, and interior surface materials.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish a framework of the information system design for the distribution management in the confectionery industry. First, we present the characteristics of distribution information system and the distribution information flow in the confectionery industry. Next, we present a sketch of the computer-communication system as the mechanism for improving communication within the distribution system and design the subsystems of distribution information system. And we design the data structure for manipulating distribution information. Finally, we present the case study in which we design the distribution information system in the confectionery industry.

  • The design comparison and nonlinear analysis of totally prefabricated bridge substructure systems are performed. The prefabricated bridge substructures are designed by the methods of present design and load and resistance factor design (LRFD). For the design, the current Korea Highway Bridge Code (KHBD), with DB-24 and DL-24 live loads, is used. This study evaluates the present design method of KHBD (2005) and AASHTO-LRFD (2007) for totally prefabricated bridge substructure systems. A computer program, named RCAHEST (Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology), for the analysis of reinforced concrete structures, was used.

Development of an User Interface Design Method using Adaptive Genetic Algorithm (적응형 유전알고리즘을 이용한 사용자 인터페이스 설계 방법 개발)

  • The size and layout of user interface components need to be optimally designed in terms of reachability, visibility, clearance, and compatibility in order for efficient and effective use of products. The present study develops an ergonomic design method which optimizes the size and layout of user interface components using adaptive genetic algorithm. The developed design method determines a near-optimal design which maximizes the aggregated score of 4 ergonomic design criteria (reachability, visibility, clearance, and compatibility). The adaptive genetic algorithm used in the present study finds a near-optimum by automatically adjusting the key parameter (probability of mutation) of traditional genetic algorithm according to the characteristic of current solutions. Since the adaptive mechanism partially helps to overcome the local optimality problem, the probability of finding the near-optimum has been substantially improved. To evaluate the effectiveness of the developed design method, the present study applied it to the user interface design for a portable wireless communication radio.

The Creativity of Art to Wear reflected on fashion Design in the late 1990s (1990년대 후반 패션디자인에 반영된 예술의상의 창의성)

  • The purpose of the present study was to improve the artistic qualities in the future fashion design by investigating how the art to wear was applied to the inspiration in the modern fashion design in the late 1990s. For this purpose the present paper examined characteristics in art to wear and their impact on modern fashion design in the late 1990s. Distinguished from the traditional costume, art to wear disregarded a fixed concept on design elements such as the socio-cultural images, materials, and forms. The artists in art to wear freely expressed their "selves" and their individuality to their works in a variety of ways. In fashion design in the late 1990s the creative characteristics of art to wear were reflected in four ways: (1) eco-look, (2) humor, (3) deformation, (4) materials. The present study suggests that the creativity of the art to wear can establish the potentials and possibility in modern fashion design, and art to wear can be a crucial mediator in opening art into the real world.

  • The researches on modern fashion design have more specific and multifactorial, and expressional approaches of designers become more deeverse too. And, at the present point time when the design itself extends actively throughout the world, there should be may studies that focus on the development of CAD system. This study research that computer adied design used in developing various design and variety training. Development of fashion design by using computers could contribute to the rapid composition of deverse researches on it. It is to be classified into three items, diagram, illustration, transformation in computer adied fashion design. The illustration could be color variation by using CAD system, and express correct form, adjustment, complement. It must be development as an expression of propaganda, having a artistic value of ganre. At the present point of time when the fashion design itself it needed development, there should be may studies that focus on development of fashion design by using computer. This study present diagram for practical side, and illustration for decorative side by using CAD system.

A Study on the Dynamic Reliability Analysis of the Shell Structure under Random Loads (불규칙 하중을 받는 Shell 구조물의 동적 신뢰성 해석에 관한 연구)

  • Reliability-based design approaches are needed for cylindrical shell structure whose design and operational experiences are few and which are subjected to external loads of random loads. In designing new type of structure, it is very difficult to evaluate the safety factors due to lack of previous design data and operational experience. To solve the above mentioned problem, much attention is being focussed on rational reliability based design approaches. This paper deals with weight-optional reliability-based design of cylindrical shell structure subjected to structural reliability constraints taking into account of the effect of local buckling and interactive behavior between local and global buckling. Present mentioned is compared with the exiting optional design method based only on safety factors. Numerical simulation reveals that the present method leads to lighter structure (4% reduction in weight compared to the existing optimal design) with the same reliability index. For larger structures with more number of structural members and possible failure modes, the present W0RBD procedure will be an efficient tool in designing cost-effective rationalized economic design.

Development of an Expert System for Multi-component Injection Molding (다재 사출성형 전문가 시스템 개발)

  • An expert system is developed for rational and efficient design of multi-component injection molding which is a fairly new manufacturing technique to produce plastic parts by injecting two or more materials sequentially using multiple injection units in a single machine into a single rotary mold. The knowledge base used in the present design system is primarily composed of two parts ; knowledge from domain expert and knowledge from CAE analysis. The present expert system has hour main modules ; general design guidelines for injection molding specific guidelines for multi-component injection molding redesign guidelines from the result of the CAE analysis and finally troubleshooting for multi-component injection molding. To show the validity of the present design methodology two shop floor design problems were tested ; design and fabrication of timing belt cover and power window's assist knob by using multi-component injection molding.

  • Metal furniture design in this study from the 1960s to the present period of office space by Metal furniture design Metal furniture for social factors in the development. The results of this study and the design tends to obscure the distinction between two different aspects of the design appear rarely common or different forms of expression are characterized by two. This furniture range has expanded to use metal and metal to minimize the negative aspects of a conventional flexible image is designed to suit the tastes of modern design and metal furniture design, interior space, except that now it is considered that the most can be identified.

A Study on the Present Color Plan of Environment in the space the Hospitals (병원공간의 색채환경 실태에 관한 연구 -설계에 따른 마감재에 한해서-)

  • The color planning in the hospital could influence the patient's improvement and lead the users from room to room. This study shows the data of present colors used in the hospitals. In order to get the data, we surveyed and analyzed the current color usages of the present interior of hospitals by the individual data from the projectors. The color scheme is analyzed by the rooms which are the common room, the ward, and the examination room along the projectors. It is also analyzed by the finishes of the hospitals, and is addressed to the present color scheme by the means of the hue value, and chroma. The color scheme in the interior design of hospital is an important factor for the hospital users. It has to more sincerely considered to use colors effectively in the hospital interior since people use their organ of vision greatly when they sense things. According to the data, this study is proposed to the effective color plan which is considered psychologically and emotionally about the human activities, in the interior design of hospitals for the future.
