Purpose: In this study consumers' preference for housing for elderly people was analyzed as well as the recognition by elders of silver town facilities, and their preference for service provided by silver town. The study was done to provide basic data for the development of silver town facilities that are low in cost and high in efficiency. Methods: A sample research was used in this study to analyze the understanding of old age, silver town, and service preference. Results: First, interest and intention to live in silver town was very positive, however low cost was also preferred and that is quite different to current silver towns of Korea. Second, women have more understanding of, requests for, and intention to move into silver town facilities than men. Women's demands for silver town facilities must be reflected in the development strategy of silver towns. Third, the most important part of activating silver town facilities is price strategy. Government political support is required in order to keep silver town move-in costs affordable. Fourth, silver towns must function as total service complex towns. Conclusion: This study is meaningful as efficient operation of silver town is suggested rather than facility degradation to achieve price reduction. This result is important to the development of silver towns based on consumer preference, as it suggests a development direction that is focused on securing differentiated services and programs.

The objective of this research is to analyze how main social relation network of middle-aged women such as family, friends and neighbors, etc affects the preference for silver town. For this objective, structured questionnaires were distributed to 309 middle-aged women at the age of 40-59 years old living in Seoul and new cities of metropolitan area. Statistics such as ANOVA, Pearson Coefficient and Multiple Regression were adopted for statistical analysis. The main result of this research is as follows: First, housewives showed higher preference for silver town than people involved in other occupations. Second, though the relation of friends and neighbors among the social relation network of middle-aged women affected the preference for silver town, that of family did not affect significantly. The result of this research suggests that it is necessary to adopt policy considering the relation of friends and neighbors among the social relation network of middle-aged women so as to activate silver town.

This Study analyzed about various factors affecting preference of Silver Town. Especially, the Study shows how Individual peculiarities and the realization of decrepit Service and facilities have on preference of Silver Town. According to analysis, the site location, Economics and Safety have a positive effect on the preference of the Silver Town. On the other hand, Investment, pleasant environment and convenience have nothing to do with the preference of the Silver Town. Also, the Study shows that if someone realizes that medical service is the most important thing in the essential service, they prefer the Silver Town. If someone realizes that asset management service is the most important thing in the essential service, they don't prefer the Silver Town.

The aged population increasing rapidly, the population rate of over 65 years old was over 7.5% in 2000 in Korea. It means that Korea is aging society. But, the aged welfare accommodation are still insufficient and more facilities accommodating the aged should be built. This situations made a new concept of silver town of the welfare facility for the aged. The purpose of this study was to find the difference of preferences about silver town between elderly group and pre-elderly group in Chungseo province. Focused on housing type and space composition of silver town, the results of this study will provide some useful information for the development of silver town and for further studies. It is very important to refer to the preference about silver town of elderly group and pre-elderly group for planing the silver town. Main results of this study showed that silver town was the most preferable elderly housing alternative for elderly group. And silver town should be provided health care center for elderly group.

The development of modern medicine and economic growth has caused the elderly population to increase rapidly in Korea and the country is becoming an aging society. As the population of elderly has increased the interest in silver towns has also increased. the elderly population is more affluent in the past and more willing to spend their money on themselves. This led to the need of supplying silver towns where they can have comfortable retirement. The research conducted for this study was to understand the silver town market by finding the preference of silver town service according to their life style. The target of this survey was the pre-elderly in the Cheongju area and several analysis techniques like factor analysis, crowding analysis, and conjoint analysis were used to understand the life style of the preelderly and preference factors of silver town services.

The purpose of this study is calling attention to the silver town by analyse preference attributes diversely and suggest alterative plan. Also, offering basic data which needs for the establishment of comfortable and ideal old age residence culture by developing silver town which is appropriate for our circumstances and emotion. The survey population of this study focused on 40s and 50s' middle aged both genders living in the Seoul and national capital region, we used random sampling method. The analytical methods used in this study were frequency, mean, standard deviation, Factor Analysis, t-test, ANOVA, post-hoc estimation (Duncan test), multiple regression, To verify the reliability of each measure, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used.

The purpose of this study was to examine the preferences and needs of middle-aged salary workers' to make silver town their future care type. The sample of this study consisted of 837 middle-aged salary workers living in Seoul, Daejeon, Jeonju, Daegu, Gyonggi-do, and Jeju-do. Statistic values that were used for the analysis were frequencies, means, and logistic analysis. The major findings were as follows : First, 91.5% of the middle-aged salary workers needed silver town as their future care type and 63.2％ of all workers wanted to live in the silver town. Second, the most frequent reason for choosing silver town as their care type was the convenience of their daily life. For the most part, salary workers answered that they would be moving to a silver town when they have some problems with mobility. Also, they wanted to pay for a deposit of 54,620,000 won and a monthly payment of 870,000 won. Third, the significant factors affecting the salary workers' preference to silver town were the respondent's sex and job, possession of a first child or not, real estate asset and monthly household income, subjective recognition for their economic status, having savings for their future, and the preparation for elderly life.

The purpose of this study was to identify the lifestyle of babyboomer, the difference of recognition about silver town and preferable determinants according to lifestyle. By the Social Survey Research with questionnaire, data from 108 people of 46 years old ~ 65 years old who inhabited in Seoul City area were collected during October, 2010. Data were analyzed by the SPSS program Win 18.0, and frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, factor analysis, regression were employed. The major findings were as follows. First, by the factors analysis on lifestyle, factors were named "interest about external", "inner-oriented", "pursuit of health", "prepare for later life", "social aspects". Second, by the frequency analysis on recognition about silver town, 97.2% of total respondents replied "at least heard about silver town", and 64.8% of total respondents recognized the necessity of silver town. While, intention to live in silver town was low (by 38.0% of total respondents). Third, by the regression analysis on preference tendency about silver town according to life style, factor of 'inner-oriented' in the decision about residential area and total household number, factor of 'pursuit of health' in the decision about monthly rent, factor of 'social aspects' in the decision about cost solution method were influential factors. In conclusion, to supply the house which had the diversity of baby bommer's life style, government and corporation's efforts to increase intention to live in silver town and to change the recognition about silver town are needed.

We are stepping into so called "aged society" stage, as the mature people account for 7% of the population by UN's standard yardstick. The goal of this research is to provide the fundamental source in producing ecological lifestyle uniforms of health and substantiality: LOHAS which are relevant to high performance and healthy body and take things like architecture, driving, surroundings, and recycling as main factors. the results of study were as follows: Therefore we can predict, through exerting researches about consumer's usage and preference of uniforms, that the garment business will be upgraded to the medical welfare and urban life style business level. All of the silver town resident we researched wear silver town uniforms, and the uniforms were chosen by the owner and operator. This research was processed through the survey of supervisors who were employed in senior residences. 66% of elderly changed their clothes for laundary every 2 days, The timing of removal of the old uniform was that 17% was less than 1 years, consideration of buying silver-town uniforms were consider materials, design, laundary, convenience of administration, durability, color, cost.

The society experiencing the industrialization and urbanization has got over the socio-demographic change. these changes make the number of the population around the world, and this phenomenon is flowing into the whole country. Korea has became a Aging Society since 2000 and will be turned into the aged society by the 2018. therefore, the importance of preparing elderly living life such as silver town is getting emphasized. the purpose of this study is aimed at analyzing the decision elements of the preliminary demanders' intention who selecting Elderly Housing. Based on this study, it was broken down by the type much more. Binary Logistic Regression Analysis of Factors affecting the Elderly housing choices were subdivided. Through this process, improvement and the implications of this study was derived. this study deducts 3 kinds of implications. First, the preference for the development of elderly housing are different with each type of characteristics. Second, the indicators along with the individual characteristics account for the most part of the surface. so the specific investigation for the demand must be required to check the indicators. Third, when it comes to development of urban elderly housing, it requires to have a part of a local government plans securing the land. Fourth, when it comes to development of suburb elderly housing, it is required to arrange the living environment around the suburbs to let user classes living in Gyeonggi-do flow into elderly housing and live their new-life in the suburbs. Finally, when it comes to development of rural elderly housing, a variety of production, leisure and other programs should be made and put into there.
