풍동시험을 활용한 10 MW급 부유식 해상풍력터빈 운송 및 설치 시 풍하중 예측 (Wind load estimation of a 10 MW floating offshore wind turbine during transportation and installation by wind tunnel tests)

  • As the generation capacity of floating offshore wind turbines increases, the wind load applied to each turbine increases. Due to such a high wind load, the capacity of transport equipment (such as tugboats or cranes) required in the transportation and installation phases must be much larger than that of previous small-capacity wind power generation systems. However, for such an important wind load prediction method, the simple formula proposed by the classification society is generally used, and prediction through wind tunnel tests or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is rarely used, especially for a concept or initial design stages. In this study, the wind load of a 10 MW class floating offshore wind turbine was predicted by a simplified formula and compared with results of wind tunnel tests. In addition, the wind load coefficients at each stage of fabrication, transportation, and installation are presented so that it can be used during a concept or initial design stages for similar floating offshore wind turbines.

  • 네트워크 기반의 적절한 컴퓨팅은 네트워크 대역폭의 가용성에 의존한다. 백본 네트워크 용량과 액세스 네트워크 상에 심각한 버틀넥이 발생하여 ISP 사업자와 고객 간의 갭이 발생된다면 그만큼 ISP 사업자는 사업에 불이익을 초래할 수 있다. 이러한 상황이 발생되기 이전 ISP 사업자가 트래픽량 예측과 종단간 오버로드가 높은 링크 구간을 감지할 수 있다면 ISP 사업자와 고객 간의 갭은 그만큼 줄어 들 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 논문은 트래픽량 예측과 종단간 오버로드가 높은 링크 구간을 감지 가능한 소프트웨어로 ACE, ADM, Flow Analysis를 소개한다. 이들 툴을 이용하여 전자상거래의 연속적인 트랜잭션을 실망에서 측정한 후 측정된 네트워크 데이터를 가상 망 환경에 임포트하고 백그라운드 트래픽을 생성한다. 이와 같은 가상 망 환경을 토대로 점차적인 사용자 수 증가에 따른 트래픽량 예측과 링크 로드가 높은 구간을 시뮬레이션 결과로 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, the real-time prediction of high temperature creep strength and creep for nickel-based superalloy Udimet 720 (high-temperature and high-pressure gas turbine engine materials) was performed on round-bar type specimens under pure load at the temperatures of 538, 649 and 704$^{\circ}C$. The predictive equation of ISM creep has better reliability than that of LMP and LMP-ISM, and its reliability is getting better for long time creep prediction ($10^3~10^5$h).

Fatigue wind load spectrum construction based on integration of turbulent wind model and measured data for long-span metal roof

  • Aiming at the problem that fatigue characteristics of metal roof rely on local physical tests and lacks the cyclic load sequence matching with regional climate, this paper proposed a method of constructing the fatigue load spectrum based on integration of wind load model, measured data of long-span metal roof and climate statistical data. According to the turbulence characteristics of wind, the wind load model is established from the aspects of turbulence intensity, power spectral density and wind pressure coefficient. Considering the influence of roof configuration on wind pressure distribution, the parameters are modified through fusing the measured data with least squares method to approximate the actual wind pressure load of the roof system. Furthermore, with regards to the wind climate characteristics of building location, Weibull model is adopted to analyze the regional meteorological data to obtain the probability density distribution of wind velocity used for calculating wind load, so as to establish the cyclic wind load sequence with the attributes of regional climate and building configuration. Finally, taking a workshop's metal roof as an example, the wind load spectrum is constructed according to this method, and the fatigue simulation and residual life prediction are implemented based on the experimental data. The forecasting result is lightly higher than the design standards, consistent with general principles of its conservative safety design scale, which shows that the presented method is validated for the fatigue characteristics study and health assessment of metal roof.

전기요금 절감용 ESS를 활용한 Particle Swarm Optimization 기반 Peak Shaving 제어 방법 (Particle Swarm Optimization-Based Peak Shaving Scheme Using ESS for Reducing Electricity Tariff)

  • 본 논문에서는 전기요금 절감용 ESS를 활용한 Particle swarm optimization(PSO) 기반 Peak shaving 제어 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방식은 실제 부하와 예상되는 부하의 소비를 비교하여 피크 절감을 위해 ESS의 추가 유효전력값을 계산하여 입력을 더한다. 또한 추가로 증가시킨 유효전력을 보상하기 위해, 유효전력을 할당하는 과정을 수행하며 유효전력 할당치가 피크 부하에 영향을 주지 않도록 유효전력 할당 지점에 예상되는 부하의 평균을 최소화하는 최적화 해를 PSO를 통해 찾는다. 제안한 방식의 성능 검증을 위해 실제 부하 데이터와 예측 알고리즘을 반영하여 예측 오차가 적은 경우와 큰 경우의 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 사례 연구 수행 결과 제안한 방식을 전기요금 절감을 위한 충·방전 제어 방식과 같이 수행한 경우 예측 오차가 큰 경우에도 성공적으로 피크 부하 절감을 수행하였으며, 17.8%의 피크 부하 절감 효과와 6.02%의 전기요금 절감 효과를 보였다.

응력 기반 볼 베어링의 접촉피로수명 예측 (Stress based Fatigue Life Prediction for Ball Bearing)

  • The method for fatigue life prediction of ball bearing is proposed applying the algorithm of contact fatigue prediction based on stress analysis. In order to do this, a series of simulation such as initial surface stress analysis, EHL analysis, subsurface stress analysis and fatigue analysis are conducted from the loading at each ball location calculated for a bearing subjected to external bearing load and contact shape function. And uniaxial fatigue tests are performed to obtain fatigue parameter of AISI 52100 steel. It was found that since stress is usually higher at the inner raceway contact than at the outer raceway contact, fatigue failure occurs on the inner raceway first. When the fatigue life calculated in the stress-based method are compared with $L_{50}$ life of L-P model, Crossland criterion for the radial load increment is similar to $L_{50}$ life and Dang Van criterion for the axial load increment is similar. In the case of EHL contact. there is no difference of fatigue life between dry contact and EHL contact, when maximum Hertz pressure exceeds 2.5GPa.

냉방부하 추정을 위한 온도와 습도 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Prediction of Temperature and Humidity for Estimation of Cooling Load)

  • To estimate the cooling load for the following day, outdoor temperature and humidity are needed in hourly base. But the meteorological administration forecasts only maximum and minimum temperature. New methodology is proposed for predicting hourly outdoor temperature and humidity by using the forecasted maximum and minimum temperature. The correlations for normalized outdoor temperature and specific humidity has been derived from the weather data for five years from 2001 to 2005 at Seoul, Daejeon and Pusan. The correlations for normalized temperature are independent of date, while the correlations for specific humidity are linearly dependent on date. The predicted results show fairly good agreement with the measured data. The prediction program is also developed for hourly outdoor dry bulb temperature, specific humidity, dew point, relative humidity, enthalpy and specific volume.

Steel-UHPC composite dowels' pull-out performance studies using machine learning algorithms

  • Composite dowels are implemented as a powerful alternative to headed studs for the efficient combination of Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) with high-strength steel in novel composite structures. They are required to provide sufficient shear resistance and ensure the transmission of tensile forces in the composite connection in order to prevent lifting of the concrete slab. In this paper, the load bearing capacity of puzzle-shaped and clothoidal-shaped dowels encased in UHPC specimen were investigated based on validated experimental test data. Considering the influence of the embedment depth and the spacing width of shear dowels, the characteristics of UHPC square plate on the load bearing capacity of composite structure, 240 numeric models have been constructed and analyzed. Three artificial intelligence approaches have been implemented to learn the discipline from collected experimental data and then make prediction, which includes Artificial Neural Network-Particle Swarm Optimization (ANN-PSO), Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). Among the factors, the embedment depth of composite dowel is proved to be the most influential parameter on the load bearing capacity. Furthermore, the results of the prediction models reveal that ELM is capable to achieve more accurate prediction.

  • For the evaluation of operability of MOV(Motor Operated Valve), the precision prediction of thrust/torque acting on the valve is important. In this paper, the analytical prediction method of thrust/torque was proposed. The design basis stem thrust calculation typically considers the followings: Packing thrust, Stem rejection load, design basis differential pressure load. In general, test results show that temperature, pressure, fluid type, and differential pressure, independently and combination, all have an effect on the friction factor. The prediction results of thrust/torque are well agrement with dynamic test results.
