  • In this study the dynamic characteristics of automatic transmission system due to the change of the planetary gear ratio is studied. To study the power flow and shift quality for power transmission the simulation program is developed using the modeling and analysis technique. The results from this study will be used in designing the basic structure of automatic transmission using planetary gear system.

  • We propose a new concept of transmission-tribology design based on the investigation of development and existing problems of the gear drive and tribology. The content of transmission-tribology and transmission-tribology design is probed. Some effective methods of transmission-tribology design is probed. Some effective methods of transmission-tribology design are put forward. Partial achievements in this research are introduced tersely. Mechanical transmission, which is represented by the gear drive, and tribology are two main branches of mechanical engineering. They have their own definite research field. In recent years, we have been doing our utmost to suggest combining mechanical transmission-tribology and transmission-tribology design. Partial achievements in this research area are obtained.

  • In this study, the effects of the power transmission units on the rotational accuracy are investigated experimentally in a hydrostatic spindle. The effects of warm up time, unbalancing and the position of measuring sensor are pre-examined for the determination of measuring conditions. The misalignment of the power transmission units and the vibration excited by the fluctuation of belt are considered as the dominant parameters of error motion. The variation and scatter of run out at the range of 0 to 3,000rpm in rotational speed are appropriated for the camparison of availabilities of the transmission units to precision spin- dles.

  • As the object of this study, a transmission system with the style of HST in combination with mechanical semi-automatic transmission for application in hydraulic wheel excavators was chosen. The dynamic characteristics of the object transmission was studied by numerical analysis of the mathematical model. The results of numerical analysis showed comparatively good agreements with experimental results, so the validity of the numerical analysis process was ascertained.

  • This paper presents a method in analyzing the output force/moments transmission form the applied input forces of the paralled manipulator. Like a serial manipulator the Jacobian matrix introduced in the paper plays role in relating the output forces/monents with the input forces. The force/moment manipulability have been investigated by considering the force transmission and momen transmission independently. Sensitivity analysis has been done and an illuatrating example is given.

  • An automatic transmission model using the bond graph techniques is developed for analyzing shift characteristics of vehicles. Bond graph models can be systemically manipulated to yield state space equations of standard form. Bond graph techniques are applied for modeling overall automatic transmission systems and shift models. A fuzzy controller is synthesized for the verification of a shifting model in the ${1^st} gear to the {2^nd}$ gear. Simulation results show the fitness of models by the bond graph techniques.

  • Lever mechanisms are usually employed to enlarge output displacement in precision stages. In this study, theoretical analysis of a lever is presented including bending effect and relation between dimension parameters and an objective function. The objective function is chosen as multiplication of magnification ratio and forcedisplacement transmission. Through theoretical analysis, this study presents optimal values for the parameters and the analysis is verified by finite element method.
