공작기계 기술의 현재와 미래(12) (Machine Tool Technology; The Present and the Future(12))

  • 수치제어(Numerical control)의 개념은 1800년대부터 시작되었다. 프랑스의 Joseph Jacquard는 1801년에 구멍을 낸 카드(Perforated cards)를 이용하여 베틀기계에 직물의 모양을 Design하는데 자동적으로 Control 하는 방법을 창조해냈다. 그 후 구멍을 낸 카드를 이용하여 페달을 밟아 얻어진 공기를 Air motor와 Valve 를 조정하므로서 자동적으로 Piano를 연주하게 하는 방법도 역시 수치제어다. 이 NC의 개념이 실제 공작기계 에 적용된 것은 제2차 대전후의 일이다. 미공군(US Air force)에서는 복잡한 형상의 항공기부품가공과 그것을 검사할 검사용 Gauge를 고정밀도로 효율있게 제작할 필요성이 절실해졌다. 미국 Michigan주 Traverse시에 있던 Parsons회사도 Helicopter의 Rotor blade의 윤곽을 정확하게 검사하는 Plate gauge를 가공할 수 있는 기계를 개발하고 있었으며 그 회사의 사장 John T. Parsons씨는 Jig boringmachine을 전자적으로 제어하는 Plate gauge를 가공하는 방법을 미공군에 제안을 하였다. 1948년 미공군에서는 설계번경이 수없이 일어나는 Missile 의 부품을 단시간 내로 제작하기 위해서 Persons사와 기술계약을 맺고 새로운 공작기계 개발에 착수하므로서 NC공작기계 연구를 시작한 역사적인 시발점이 되었다.

  • Strapdown inertial navigation system(SDINS) is a navigational instruments necessary to guide and con- trol a free vehicle. In this study, an error analysis of mechanical parts is carried out for manufacturing a dynamically tuned gyroscope. The errors usually come from the tolerance in machining and assembly. In the error analysis, a criterion to be considered during designing and manufacturing is proposed by quanti- tatively analyzing the effect of DTG performance by tolerances. The theory of dynamic balancing is deduced and unbalance is reduced through experiment.

인덱스 및 증분형 PWM 타입을 이용한 저가형 위치센서에 관한 연구 (The Study on Low-cost Position Sensor Using Index and Increment PWM)

  • BLDC motors have the strong point of allowing high-efficiency operation, yet with the weak point of requiring position information for operation. Moreover, there have recently been frequent cases where the product differentiation of even a cheap BLDC motor demanded a high level of control performance similar to that of a controller using a high-precision position sensor. This paper proposes low cost position sensor that enables the acquisition of rotor position information based on index and incremental PWM, using a single position sensor instead of an expensive incremental encoder or a cheap 3 phase hall sensor. The characteristic of the proposed encoder is that index information at every $60^{\circ}$ of electrical angle is inscribed on the encoder disk, as well as a multiple number of values representing information about PWM, which is obtained by modulating information about the electrical angle of the rotor that has the resolution of $60^{\circ}$. Such a method has the characteristic of enabling the acquisition of high-precision position information based on the information about a multiple number of PWM waveforms and counter values that have all been inscribed on the encoder disk for each $60^{\circ}$ range. The feasibility of the proposed new encoder was verified by fabricating a prototype encoder generating 240 pulses, followed by confirming its performance using Micom's capture and software counter functions.

무인지상차량과의 합동운용을 위한 동축반전 회전익형 무인항공기 개념연구 (Conceptual Study on Coaxial Rotorcraft UAV for teaming operation with UGV)

  • 무인지상차량을 통해 수직이착륙 무인항공기의 운반, 발사, 귀환 및 재충전 기능을 제공함으로서 두 체계의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 무인항공기-무인지상차량 합동운용 개념이 제시되었다. 합동운용 개념은 두 체계의 물리적 결합을 통해 무인지상차량의 감시정찰 범위를 확대하고, 수직이착륙 무인항공기의 운용능력을 확장할 수 있는 개념이다. 체계간의 유연하고 정확한 인터페이스를 제공하기 위해 구형 동체를 가지는 동축반전 회전익형 무인항공기의 형상이 제안되었다. 무인항공기의 정밀착륙을 위해 영상기반 목표추적 기법이 포함된 복합항법 기술이 검토되었고, 실험적 연구가 수행되었다. 또한, 탑재된 회전익형 비행체에 콤팩트한 형상을 제공하기 위한 길이-가변 로터의 구현 가능성에 대해서도 기술하였다.

A Wide Speed Operation of SRM Using Low Cost Encoder and Controller

  • In switched reluctance motor(SRM) deives, the turn-on and turn-off angles of each phase switch should be accurately controlled for accuracy and efficiency. The accuracy of the switching angles is mainly dependent upon the resolution of the encoder and the sampling period of the microprocessor, that are used to provide the information of the rotor position and to implement a control algorithm of the SRM, respectively. Thus, the higher the speed of the SRM is increased, the larger the amount of the switching angle deviations are from preset turn-on and turn-off angles. Consequently, the motor can not be driven stably high speed region. There fore, a simples and low cost encoder suitable for the practical and stable SRM drive is proposed and the control algorithm to provide the switching signals using a simple digital logic circuit is also presented for a wide speed range operation.

  • A reaction wheel is commonly used, as an important actuator, to control the attitude of a satellite. Operation of the reaction wheel plays a role of an excitation source to loading equipment inside the satellite. As requirements for environmental vibration to manifest the performance of precision equipment are getting more stringent, the research for analysis or reduction of unwanted action force in high frequency range when operating the reaction wheel is necessary. In this paper, the procedure to extract input forces and damping of a rotor system of reaction wheel is suggested. The analysis for measured action forces of reaction wheel is accomplished and important higher harmonics of action forces are determined. The input forces and damping of the rotor system are, then, extracted by curve-fitting and a particular solution for input force.

A High Performance Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Servo System Using Predictive Functional Control and Kalman Filter

  • A predictive functional control (PFC) scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo systems is proposed in this paper. The PFC-based method is first introduced in the control design of speed loop. Since the accuracy of the PFC model is influenced by external disturbances and speed detection quantization errors of the low distinguishability optical encoder in servo systems, it is noted that the standard PFC method does not achieve satisfactory results in the presence of strong disturbances. This paper adopted the Kalman filter to observe the load torque, the rotor position and the rotor angular velocity under the condition of a limited precision encoder. The observations are then fed back into PFC model to rebuild it when considering the influence of perturbation. Therefore, an improved PFC method, called the PFC+Kalman filter method, is presented, and a high performance PMSM servo system was achieved. The validity of the proposed controller was tested via experiments. Excellent results were obtained with respect to the speed trajectory tracking, stability, and disturbance rejection.

Creep Crack Growth Properties of Low Pressure Turbine Rotor Steel under Constant Load and Ct

  • The propagation rate(da/dt) prediction parameter and the microstructure properties of creep crack in domestic 3.3NiCrMov steel were investigated at 550$\^{C}$ by using 0.5" CT specimen under constant load(4090N) and constant Ct(300∼4000N/mhr) condition that was maintained during crack growth of 1mm distance. C* usually increased with crack length though load was reduced in order to maintain constant Ct value as crack growth and considerably showed the scatter band, but Ct depended on load line displacement rate and represented a good relation with da/dt. At constant toad and Ct region, crack growth slope was 0.900 and 0.844 each, in the other hand C* slope was 0.480. Fully coalesced area(FCA) ahead of crack tip was increased as Ct value increase to the critical value, and after that value FCA decreased. The average diameter ditribution of cavity in FCA showed the greatest value about 1.5 ㎛ when Ct=2000N/mhr. The increasing of Ct in FCA view point enlarged the size of damage area and the size reached to maximum 800 ㎛ when Ct=2000N/mhr.

원, 타원 및 인벌루트 조합된 치형형상을 갖는 로터 개발 (Development of an Automated Design System for Oil Pumps with Multiple Profiles(Circle, Ellipse and Involute))

  • A internal lobe pump is suitable for oil hydraulics of machine tools, automotive engines, compressors, constructions and other various applications. In particular, the pump is an essential machine element of an automotive engine to feed lubricant oil. The subject of this paper is the theoretical analysis of internal lobe pump whose the main components are the rotors: usually the outer one is characterized by lobe with elliptical and involute shapes, while the inner rotor profile is determined as conjugate to the other. And the integrated system which is composed of three main modules has been developed through AutoLISP under AutoCAD circumstance. It generates new lobe profile and calculates automatically the flow rate and flow rate irregularity according to the lobe profile generated. Results obtained from the analysis enable the designer and manufacturer of oil pump to be more efficient in this field.
