  • Traditionally aircraft had descended in steps to level at the MDA(Minimum Descent Altitude) during the conduct of non-precision approach. This "de-stabilized" method of flying an instrument approach procedure is considered as a major contributing factor in CFIT(Controlled Flight Into Terrain) accident and increasing pilot workload. In the effort to reduce CFIT accident and pilot workload, VNAV(Vertical Navigation) Approach has been suggested as means to manage the vertical component of non-precision approach procedure.[1] But In the actual circumstances in Korea, VNAV has not been using to reduce them because of many restriction facts and no published VNAV chart in particular airport. Therefore we are suggesting Constant Vertical Speed Approach Method, which is required few restriction facts, and the pilots who are using this method will experience a similar method like a Glideslope during proceeding non-precision approach. Consequently, We are expecting to reduce CFIT accidents and pilot workload.

  • After a thorough investigation of aviation accidents involving Korean national carriers both inside and outside of Korea and also after reviewing catastrophic events involving foreign carriers in Korea, we found numerous accidents that caused fatalities and serious personal injuries. Although the aircrafts involved were found to have no specific defects, many of the accidents were caused by the pilot's misjudgement according to previous studies. Our research is to find an new procedure to help the prevention of similar accidents by focusing particularly on CFIT accidents during the procedural operations of Non Precision Approach, Circling Approach and Visual Approach. Therefore, we emphasize the significance of this research on the development of the new checklist that will help achieve a safe and effective procedural operation for non precision approaches.

  • This paper analyzes the accuracy on the approach and landing of aircraft to an airport through comparison with airbase Precision Approach Radar and aircraft track data of DGPS equipped in aircraft. The proposed analysis result could be a basis for verifying the possibility that DGPS can be utilized in Airbase precision approach and landing. Position identification capability of widely used commercial DGPS is fairly accurate on latitude and longitude, while there is a slight error for being used in an airbase accurate approach and landing of Category I precision when it comes to altitude. Thus, we tested accuracy by analyzing actual flight track data of high performance aircraft to verify the accuracy of the airbase approach and landing using DGPS. Through the research, we developed instrumentation to compare PAR track data with DGPS track data, which can be used in reducing the number of PAR verification Flight utilizing it as a system measuring PAR accuracy at PAR installation phase.

  • The effects of weather on aircraft operations are predominant. In particular, severe weather, such as fog, strong winds, rainfall and snow, can cause delays, diversion or cancellation of operations. Of these, fog is considered the main reason for restricting aircraft operations. Meanwhile, Precision instrument approach using instrument landing system(ILS) has allowed aircraft to land safely even in situations where visibility is limited. However, the precision instrument approach require not only the performance of the aircraft but also the enhancement of the runway. In November 2018, Gimpo international Airport raised the category of the runway 14R from CAT-IIIa to CAT-IIIb to improve aviation safety and operational efficiency. Based on this, the research presented a methodology for estimating benefits according to the category upgrade of the precision approach runway, and estimated the benefits to Gimpo International Airport based on the methodology presented.

  • The concept of precision medicine-prevention and treatment strategies that take individual variability into account-is hot issue of US in the year 2015. Precision medicine is a new concept that approach patients individually by there characteristics, such as genome, life style, environmental exposure, etc. For developing the precision medicine, National Institute of Health of US has been prepared the Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program, at least 1 million people cohort. The US President Obama announced the Precision Medicine Initiative on 30th January 2015. He announced that he will pioneer a new model of patient-powered research that promises to accelerate biomedical discoveries and provide clinicians with new tools, knowledge, and therapies to select which treatments will work best for which patients. Most medical treatments have been designed for the 'average patient.' As a result of this 'one-size-fits-all-approach,' treatments can be very successful for some patients but not for others. This is changing with the emergence of precision medicine, an innovative approach to disease prevention and treatment that takes into account individual differences in people's genes, environments, and lifestyles. Precision medicine gives clinicians tools to better understand the complex mechanisms underlying a patient's health, disease, or condition, and to better predict which treatments will be most effective. The healthcare researcher should prepare the new medicine era such as bio-information technology convergence, big data study.

  • This paper presents a hybrid approach to the sentiment analysis of online texts. The sentiment of a text refers to the feelings that the author of a text has towards a certain topic. Many existing approaches employ either a pattern-based approach or a machine learning based approach. The former shows relatively high precision in classifying the sentiments, but suffers from the data sparseness problem, i.e. the lack of patterns. The latter approach shows relatively lower precision, but 100% recall. The approach presented in the current work adopts the merits of both approaches. It combines the pattern-based approach with the machine learning based approach, so that the relatively high precision and high recall can be maintained. Our experiment shows that the hybrid approach improves the F-measure score for more than 50% in comparison with the pattern-based approach and for around 1% comparing with the machine learning based approach. The numerical improvement from the machine learning based approach might not seem to be quite encouraging, but the fact that in the current approach not only the sentiment or the polarity information of sentences but also the additional information such as target of sentiments can be classified makes the current approach promising.

  • Purpose: This review describes the historical changes in nutrition philosophy from a reductionist to a holistic approach during the $20^{th}$ century. Also, the role and efficient use of a holistic approach to precision nutrition are discussed. Results: Over the past century, significant progress has been made in human nutrition research, unraveling fundamental mechanisms of single nutrients on single targets or pathways. This kind of a reductionist approach has helped to save populations from nutrient deficiency diseases and improve associated health outcomes in large parts of the world. However, a new set of nutrition problems, like obesity and diet-related chronic diseases, are growing each year worldwide, increasing the financial burden on the health care system. A linear cause-effect association between single nutrients and a single physiologic effect, is insufficient to solve the complex nutrition-health relationships. Research that involves a more holistic rather than reductionist approach is needed to tackle a new set of nutrition problems. Recent advances in technology, informatics, and statistical methods are enabling an understanding of the diversity of individuals and the complex interactions between foods and human bodies, leading to the concept of "precision nutrition." Conclusion: The emerging goal of precision nutrition is to provide tailored dietary advice for maintaining health and preventing obesity and diet-related chronic diseases. The parts are already being installed. To grab the complexity, reductionism and holism must be used interdependently.
