  • In order to introduce the touch to engineering and industries, it must be preceded to dstablish a quantitative barometer of the feeling. for this purpose, we developed a tactile measuring system to measure physical properties of texture, such as surface roughness, friction coefficient and compliance. The tactile measuring system uses a LASER type displacement sensor, which is a non-contacting system, in measuring the surface roughness. By considering that human tactile system is a contacting mechanism, this non-contacting method needs to be modified. As a precedent research of that, we compared the contacting and non-contacting method in this paper. Surface roughness of ten cloths were measured by using the measuring system, then compared to the test results using the Kawabata evaluation system(KES), which uses a contacting method in measuring the surface roughness.

  • Composite sandwich structures are widely employed in various applications, due to their high specific stiffness and specific bending strength compared to solid panels. Lately, for that reason, the advanced composite sandwich structures are employed in satellite structures: materials should be as light as possible with the highest attainable performance. This study is majorly focused on inserts employed to the composite sandwich satellite structures. A new hybrid insert design was developed in precedent study to reduce the mass of the sandwich structure since the mass of the satellite structure is related to high launching cost [1]. In this study, the thermal characteristics and behavior of the precedently developed hybrid insert with carbon composite reinforcing web and the conventional partial insert were numerically investigated.

The negative attributes of caretaking behavior are inconsistent moral training, incapability of affection binding and overprotection. 2. The precedent of caretaking behavior are postpartum contact with their babies, cognizance capacity of child-caretaking, economic support, level of preparation for child-caretaking and self-consciousness as parents. 3. The affirmative consequences of caretaking behavior are promotion of child growth and development, formation of maternal-infantile attachment, development of children sociality, satisfaction of parental role and reinforcement of relationship between the members of family. • Objectives Some major Chinese medical classics like Huangdineijing (黃帝內經) and Nanjing (難經) assert that a normal person breaths 13,500 times every day. It's just half of real breathing cycles of human. So I tried to find a reasonable explanation to solve this conflict between truth and literal description. Materials and methods To find breath count descriptions in Chinese ancient books, I used Kanseki Repository (http://kanripo.org/). To find precedent research on this topic, I used China National Knowledge Infrastructure (http://cnki.net). Results 33 books refers to human breath cycles for a day, and most of them introduce 13,500 as human breathing frequency of one day. Some recent papers on Laoguanshan (老官山) Western Han dynasty manuscripts show new clues on this topic. Conclusion I assume that 13,500 cycles, the incorrect human breathing frequency of a day, might be originated from adjusting the meaning and usage of the word "Xi (息)".

  • Although project management for new product development is a very important issue, only a few approach from project scheduling has been made. The traditional project scheduling research has focused on the project network with certainty, but the new product development project has some uncertainties in network; Some activities may not need to be peformed, and/or some precedent relationships between activities may not need to be kept. In this paper, a simulation model is introduced in order to reflect uncertainties in project network for new product development. This simulation model can be used as a project scheduling technique for product development. By repeating the simulation, the degree of the risk and the feasibility of the project can be assessed.

This definition can be used as a basis to derive legal rights or scope in area of research and education policies and social institutions of the Korean medicine and to confront scientification criticism hereafter.
