  • Partial redundancy elimination (PRE) is an interesting compiler optimization because of its effectiveness and generality. Among many PRE algorithms, the one in static single assignment form (SSAPRE) has benefits over other bit-vector-based PRE algorithms. It preserves the properties of the SSA form after PRE and exploits the sparsity of the SSA form, resulting in reduced analysis and optimization time. This paper presents a practical improvement of the SSAPRE algorithm that further reduces the analysis and optimization time. The underlying idea is removing unnecessary ${\Phi}$'s during the ${\Phi}$-Insertion phase that is the first step of SSAPRE. We classify the expressions into three categories: confined expressions, local expressions, and the others. We show that unnecessary ${\Phi}$'s for confined and local expressions can be easily detected and removed. We implement our locality-based SSAPRE algorithm in a C compiler and evaluate its effectiveness with 20 applications from SPEC benchmark suites. In our measurements, on average 91 of ${\Phi}$'s identified by the original demand-driven SSAPRE algorithm are unnecessary for PRE. Pruning these unnecessary ${\Phi}$'s in the ${\Phi}$-Insertion phase makes our locality-based SSAPRE algorithm 1.8 times faster, on average, than the original SSAPRE algorithm.

  • Based on this article, I have analyzed the OFDM system which applies three types of equalizer forms in the two-path channel of the microwave baseband. The Two-path channel of microwave baseband had been simulated through the Rummler channel. In the Two-path channel, the OFDM system which has three forms of equalizer has been analyzed and the result is, equalizer 1-tab has great improvement in efficiency compared with Pre-FFT 11-tab which has noise power ratio less than 18dB. On the contrary, if the symbol energy to the noise ratio is more than 18dB, the equalizer which applies Pre-FFT 11-tab has greater efficiency compared to the equalizer which applies 1-tab frequency. Last but not least, the OFDM system which applies Dual equalizer has better efficiency compared to the system which has 1-tab frequency and equalizer which applies Pre-FFT 11-tab.

  • The influence of pre-strain on low cycle fatigue behavior of Fe-18Mn-0.05Al-0.6C TWIP steel was studied by conducting axial strain-controlled tests. As-received plates were deformed by rolling with reduction ratios of 10 and 30%, respectively. A triangular waveform with a constant frequency of 1 Hz was employed for low cycle fatigue test at the total strain amplitudes in the range of ${\pm}0.4\;{\sim}\;{\pm}0.6$ pct. The results showed that low-cycle fatigue life was strongly dependent on the amount of pre-strain as well as the strain amplitude. Increasing the amount of prestrain, the number of reversals to failure was significantly decreased at high strain amplitudes, but the effect was negligible at low strain amplitudes. A new model for predicting fatigue life of pre-strained body has been suggested by adding ${\Delta}E_{pre-strain}$ to the energy-based fatigue damage parameter. Also, high-cycle fatigue lives predicted using the low-cycle fatigue data well agreed with the experimental ones.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the pre-and post-transplant nutritional assessment for patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Methods: The subjects of this study were 25 patients undergoing allogeneic HSCT. The data collection was performed from January 31st to March 31st, 2011. The Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA), anthropometrics and biochemical test were collected from the time they entered the isolation unit until they left. Results: Pre-transplant nutritional assessment status indicated moderate malnutrition which scored $7.32{\pm}1.68$ in PG-SGA. There were 22 patients (88.0%) with moderate malnutrition and 3 patients (12.0%) with severe malnutrition. Post-transplant nutritional assessment indicated severe malnutrition status which scored $11.92{\pm}3.26$ in PG-SGA. Pre-and post-transplant nutritional assessment displayed significant differences (p<.001) in PG-SGA score. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation led to a deterioration of patients' nutritional status. Pre-transplant patients were already in malnutrition status and patients undergoing allogeneic HSCT were at risk for malnutrition. Conclusion: Pre-and post-transplant patients were categorized as having undernutritional and malnutritional status. Pre-transplant nutrition status impacted on post-transplant nutritional status. Health care personnel should pay attention to patient's nutrition status when undergoing allogeneic HSCT with appropriate nutritional assessment tools.

  • This investigation studied 1)the correlations among pre-service child care teachers' behavioral characteristics, social support and self-efficacy, and 2)the mediating effects of pre-service child care teachers' behavioral characteristics and social support on self-efficacy. The subjects were 240 pre-service child care teachers working at S-center for nursery teacher education or I-center for nursery teacher education in the Incheon area. The findings are as follows. First, the relationships among pre-service child care teachers' behavioral characteristics, social support and self-efficacy were examined by showing correlations. Second, we found that in terms of the mediating role of social support in the relationship between pre-service child care teachers' behavioral characteristics and self-efficacy, type D and type S show self-efficacy; they also have a direct impact on the social support indirectly affected through. Thus, social support can be seen as having a partial mediating effect.

  • The nutritional status of pre-school children is important for both physical growth and functional development. This study investigated the anthropometric, nutrient intakes and dietary quality of the pre-school children living in Asan for planning nutritional education program. The dietary intakes were measured by 2-day 24 hr recall recorded by children's mothers and the anthropometric data were collected by measuring children's weights, heights, and percent body fat at Asan Public Health Center. The children were 161 boys and 129 girls aged 5 and 6 years. When children's nutritional status was determined by their anthropometric status (underweight, normal weight and overweight) determined by z-score (normal range between -1.00 and 1.00), only 1.4% of the children belonged to underweight group while 55.7% and 42.9% belonged to normal and overweight groups, respectively. Significantly higher number of children belonged to overweight group for 5 year-olds. No differences were observed in nutrient intakes, nutrient adequacy ratio (NAR) and index of nutritional quality (INQ) values among nutritional status groups. Intakes of the most nutrients were adequate, but NAR and INQ of calcium and zinc were low. When nutrient intakes, NAR and INQ were compared by sex or age, all nutrient intakes were appropriate except calcium and zinc intakes of 6 year-olds. Nutrient intakes of 5 years were higher than those of 6 years. The mean of nutrient adequacy ratio (MAR) was 0.85 and mean INQ was 1.51 for all participants. The nutritional management program for pre-school children in Asan would be directed differently by age groups and education material should contain contents educating to consume moderate amount of food for 5 year-olds and to increase intake of foods with mineral nutrients such as calcium and zinc for 6 year-olds.

  • An experiment was conducted on eight bullocks of Hariana cattle study draft efficiency using different appliances, changes in their physiological, biochemical and haematological parameters, and how the body tries to maintain these within normal physiological range. Blood collection was done at pre-exercise, three hours after exercise and two hours post exercise in summer and winter seasons of the year 1990-91. Average pulse rate and respiration rate per minute were found to be $63.09{\pm}0.78,\;25.60{\pm}0.54,\;97.21{\pm}2.51,\;63.37{\pm}2.70,\;64.05{\pm}1.90,\;25.33{\pm}1.20$, respectively, at pre-exercise, three hours exercise and two hours post exercise rest. The seasonal differences were found to significant and the values were higher in summer than in winter. After two hours post exercise rest Hariana bullocks regained their normal values for all the parameters, except that pulse rate, respiration rate and serum sodium during summer did not reach the pre - exercise levels.

  • Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a major cause of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. With recent identification of HBV receptor, inhibition of virus entry has become a promising concept in the development of new antiviral drugs. To date, 10 HBV genotypes (A-J) have been defined. We previously generated two murine anti-preS1 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), KR359 and KR127, that recognize amino acids (aa) 19-26 and 37-45, respectively, in the receptor binding site (aa 13-58, genotype C). Each mAb exhibited virus neutralizing activity in vitro, and a humanized version of KR127 effectively neutralized HBV infection in chimpanzees. In the present study, we constructed a humanized version (HzKR359-1) of KR359 whose antigen binding activity is 4.4-fold higher than that of KR359, as assessed by competitive ELISA, and produced recombinant preS1 antigens (aa 1-60) of different genotypes to investigate the binding capacities of HzKR359-1 and a humanized version (HzKR127-3.2) of KR127 to the 10 HBV genotypes. The results indicate that HzKR359-1 can bind to five genotypes (A, B, C, H, and J), and HzKR127-3.2 can also bind to five genotypes (A, C, D, G, and I). The combination of these two antibodies can bind to eight genotypes (A-D, G-J), and to genotype C additively. Considering that genotypes A-D are common, whereas genotypes E and F are occasionally represented in small patient population, the combination of these two antibodies might block the entry of most virus genotypes and thus broadly neutralize HBV infection.
