유방암 환자의 치료 전 경험 (The Patients' Experiences of the Diagnosis and Pre-Treatment Period of Breast Cancer)

  • Purpose: To date most research related to patients with breast cancer has discriminately investigated the status within or after the treatment although the patients demand holistic nursing care from the time of diagnosis. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the trajectory of breast cancer diagnosis and patients' experiences in the pre-treatment period. Method: This qualitative study used qualitative thematic analysis. Nineteen Korean women who were diagnosed with breast cancer within the last 6 month participated in the study. Individualized interviews were conducted with each participant in a cancer center in K city. The interviews were tape-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using the thematic analysis process. Results: The overriding theme was "the scattered life in an unforeseen swirl", which illustrates the participants' unexpected crisis with confusion and emotional distress. Two subthemes included "falling into an unavoidable journey", and "staggering in a muddle with urgency". The categories were "unexpected probability", "nagging nodularity", "ominous presentiment", "emotional upheaval", "bad thought intrusion", and "a sense of urgency". Conclusion: Patients in the pre-treatment period encountered utter emotional distress and a sense of urgency after being diagnosed breast cancer. Strategies to develop nursing care for patients in this period and nursing implications are discussed.

무산화 직화로 버너의 연소특성이 강재표면의 산화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Combustion Characteristics of the Burners for Non-Oxidizing Direct Fired Furnaces on the Oxidization of the Surface of Steel Plate)

  • An experimental study for the two types of burners used in the non-oxidizing direct fired furnaces of the heat treatment process for the cold rolled plate has been carried out to investigate the combustion characteristics and the oxidization of the surface of steel plate. A steep temperature gradient and entrainment of residual oxygen were found near the heating surface in the flame of the nozzle mixing burner which has strong swirl velocity component. It was concluded that the elimination of the residual oxygen and the increase of the temperature of combustion gas on the heating surface are needed to enhance the performance of the burners for application to the non-oxidizing direct fired furnaces.

Influence of a weak superposed centripetal flow in a rotor-stator system for several pre-swirl ratios

  • The present study is devoted to the influence of a superposed radial inflow in a rotor-stator cavity with a peripheral opening. The flow regime is turbulent, the two boundary layers being separated by a core region. An original theoretical solution is obtained for the core region, explaining the reason why a weak radial inflow has no major influence near the periphery of the cavity but strongly affects the flow behavior near the axis. The validity of the theory is tested with the help of a new set of experimental data including the radial and tangential mean velocity components, as well as three components of the Reynolds stress tensor measured by hot-wire anemometry. The theoretical results are also in good agreement with numerical results obtained with the Fluent code and experimental data from the literature.

  • To improve the performance of diesel automobile engine, we designed new fuel supply system named ultrasonic fuel supply system. The performance test of diesel automobile engine carried out to examine possibility of practical use of ultrasonic fuel supply system to test engine. This paper deals with the comparative results of performance test of diesel automobile engine in terms of smoke, HC, SFC, PS, thermal, efficiency, torque. Following are obtained result. 1) In naturally aspirated diesel engine, when we use ultrasonic fuel supply system output, fuel consumptions are improved and exhaust gas reduced significantly. 2) In turbo-charging diesel engine both using of ultrasonic fuel supply system and using of conventional injector, engine performance and exhaust gas temperature are almost constant. 3) In turbo-charging diesel engine, when we use ultrasonic fuel supply system, NOx are emitted approximately 3.5% higher than total average. 4) In turbo-charging diesel engine, when we use ultrasonic fuel supply system, smoke and CO are 17% and 11.8% improved respectively.

배연탈황설비 흡수탑 내 연소가스 및 슬러리의 거동에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis on the Flue Gas Flow and Slurry Behavior in the Absorber of a Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) System)

  • Numerical analysis had been performed to understand flow characteristics of the flue gas and slurry in the absorber of a flue gas desulphurization (FGD) system using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique. Two-fluid(Euler-Lagrangian) model had been employed to simulate physical phenomenon, which slurry particles injected through slurry spray nozzles fall down and bump into the flue gas inflowing through inlet duct. It was not necessary to adopt pre-defined pressure drop inside the absorber because interaction between flue gas and slurry particles was considered. Hundreds of slurry spray nozzles were considered with the spray velocity at the nozzles, swirl velocity and spreading angle. The results note that the flow disturbance of flue gas is found at the bottom of the absorber, and the current rising with high speed stream is observed in the opposite region of the inflow duct. The high speed stream is reduced as the flue gas goes up, because the high speed stream of flue gas dumps falling slurry particles due to momentum exchange between flue gas and slurry particles. In spite of some disproportion in slurry distribution inside the absorber, escape of slurry particles from the absorber facility is not observed. The pressure drop inside the absorber is mainly occurred at the bottom section.

CHARACTERISTICS OF WALL IMPINGEMENT AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS ON GDI SPRAY

  • The direct injection gasoline spray-wall interaction was characterized inside a heated pressurized chamber using various visualization techniques, including high-speed laser-sheet macroscopic and microscopic movies up to 25,000 frames per second, shadowgraph, and double-spark particle image velocimetry. Two hollow cone high-pressure swirl injectors having different cone angles were used to inject gasoline onto a heated plate at two different impingement angles. Based on the visualization results, the overall transient spray impingement structure, fuel film formation, and preliminary droplet size and velocity were analyzed. The results show that upward spray vortex inside the spray is more obvious at elevated temperature condition, particularly for the wide-cone-angle injector, due to the vaporization of small droplets and decreased air density. Film build-up on the surface is clearly observed at both ambient and elevated temperature, especially for narrow cone spray. Vapor phase appears at both ambient and elevated temperature conditions, particularly in the toroidal vortex and impingement plume. More rapid impingement and faster horizontal spread after impingement are observed for elevated temperature conditions. Droplet rebounding and film break-up are clearly observed. Post-impingement droplets are significantly smaller than pre-impingement droplets with a more horizontal velocity component regardless of the wall temperature and impingement angle condition.

누설유량과 회전체동역학적 성능을 고려한 래버린스 씰 설계 (Labyrinth Seal Design Considering Leakage Flow Rate and Rotordynamic Performance)

  • This study proposes a procedure for designing a labyrinth seal that meets both leakage flow rate and rotordynamic performance criteria (effective damping, amplification factor, separation margin, logarithmic decrement, and vibration amplitude). The seal is modeled using a one control volume (1CV) bulk flow approach to predict the leakage flow rate and rotordynamic coefficients. The rotating shaft is modeled with the finite element (FE) method and is assumed to be supported by two linearized bearings. Geometry, material and operating conditions of the rotating shaft, and the supporting characteristics of the bearings were fixed. A single labyrinth seal is placed at the center of the rotor, and the linearized dynamic coefficients predicted by the seal numerical model are inserted as linear springs and dampers at the seal position. Seal designs that satisfy both leakage and rotordynamic performance are searched by modifying five seal design parameters using the multi-grid method. The five design parameters include pre-swirl ratio, number of teeth, tooth pitch, tooth height and tooth tip width. In total, 12500 seal models are examined and the optimal seal design is selected. Finally, normalization was performed to select the optimal labyrinth seal designs that satisfy the system performance requirements.

  • 본 논문에서는 종래의 방법을 개량해서 연소과정의 휘도변화를 전기적신호로 변환시키고, 이 전기신호와 연료분사개시기에 발생하는 전기신호와의 시간차를 시간 간격측정기에 의해 계측하는 방법을 택했다. 이 방법에 의해 측정하고저 하는 온도 또는 연료의 종류별로 매 1,000개의 시간차 데이터를 퍼스널.컴퓨터(personal compu- ter)에 기억시켜 통계처리했다.그리고 착화지연기간의 측정결과에 대해서는 보조연 료로서 사용한 유기화합물의 반응성으로 부터 고찰했다.

  • A petrological study has been done in the pyeongchang-Jaecheon area which is a northwestern part of the basement of Ogcheon zone for the purpose of comparison of the area to the Nogjeon-Yeongchun area which is the antipodal basement of the zone in the petrological and geotectonical view points. The major units of the area are Precambrian granitic gneissic complex, banded gneiss, linea ted leucocratic gneiss and pegmatitic leucogranitic gneiss in the west, elongated exposure of quartz schist (or partly quartzite) and phyllite, named as Jungdaegal-bong Group correlated to the lower sequence of Joseon Group, in the middle, and limestone and calcic dolomite, Iptanri Formation, correlated to the middle of Joseon Group in the east. Igneous plutons are distributed in the areas of gneissic complex and limestone formation as well as in the Eosangcheon and Daedaeri areas in the southeastern out of the area. Present study reveals that the gneissic complex are the products of granitization to metamorphism of amphibolite facies in the order of above mentioned from the metasediments of schists and calcareous rocks. A notable characteristics of the phyllite of Jungdaegal-bong Group is the presence of syntectonically segregated quartz rods in the forms of lens, swirl or boudinage in evenly distributed in the phyllitic to chloritic matrix. Igneous rocks range in composition from gabbro through diorite, granodiorite, to schistosed and porphyritic granites in stock and dike. The orogenic movement of the Ogcheon zone initiated in the middle Proterozoic time, pre-sedimentation of Ogcheon Group and superposed the granitization in Permian, Jurassic Daebo orogeny with granitic batholiths and stocks, and Cretaceous plutonic intrusion.

이중 콘형 부분 예혼합 GT 노즐의 다단 연소특성 (Characteristics of Multi staged Combustion on a Double-cone Partial Premixed Nozzle)

  • 산업용 혹은 발전용 가스터빈에 사용되는 이중 콘형 예혼합 연소기의 다단 연소 특성을 이해하기 위하여 실험적연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 기존에 모두 경사면에 공급되는 연료를 콘부분으로 일부 할애하는 방식으로 다단연소 방식을 구성하였으며 콘에서 분사되는 연료공급은 축방향과 콘 경사면 방향으로 하였다. 다단연소 연소특성을 이해하기 위하여 콘에서의 연료 분사 방향과 연료 분배율 변화에 대한 NOx와 CO의 배출 농도 그리고 벽면 온도분포를 측정하였다. 그 결과 총 연료에 대한 콘으로의 분배율이 3%인 경우 콘에서의 연료 분사방향에 관계없이 노즐내의 예혼합 영역에서 연료가 공기와 균일하게 혼합됨으로서 연소영역의 고온점 감소에 의하여 NOx 배출 농도가 감소된다. 그러나 콘에서 축방향으로 분사되는 연료분배율이 8%로 증가하는 경우 노즐 내부 예혼합 영역으로의 화염 역화로 인하여 NOx의 배출농도가 오히려 증가하게 된다.
