Robust Extraction of Lean Tissue Contour From Beef Cut Surface Image

  • A hybrid image processing system which automatically distinguished lean tissues in the image of a complex beef cut surface and generated the lean tissue contour has been developed. Because of the in homegeneous distribution and fuzzy pattern of fat and lean tissue on the beef cut, conventional image segmentation and contour generation algorithm suffer from a heavy computing requirement, algorithm complexity and poor robustness. The proposed system utilizes an artificial neural network enhance the robustness of processing. The system is composed of pre-network , network and post-network processing stages. At the pre-network stage, gray level images of beef cuts were segmented and resized to be adequate to the network input. Features such as fat and bone were enhanced and the enhanced input image was converted tot he grid pattern image, whose grid was formed as 4 X4 pixel size. at the network stage, the normalized gray value of each grid image was taken as the network input. Th pre-trained network generated the grid image output of the isolated lean tissue. A training scheme of the network and the separating performance were presented and analyzed. The developed hybrid system showed the feasibility of the human like robust object segmentation and contour generation for the complex , fuzzy and irregular image.

  • The COMS IMPS (Communication Ocean and Meteorological Satellite IMage Pre-processing Subsystem) is developed for image pre-processing of COMS. For a test of the COMS IMPS, 7 support software are developed in KARI GS using simulated MI/GOCI WB (Wide-Band) data; COMS Fill Adder, MI (Meteorological Imager) CADU generator, GOCI (Geostationary Ocean Colour Imager) CADU generator, COMS CADU combiner, MI SD (Sensor Data) analyzer, GOCI SD analyzer, and COMS DM (Decomposition Module) test harness. This paper explains functions of developed support software and the COMS IMPS test using those software.

  • We proposed the intelligent system to control prosthetic robot. The proposed intelligent system was used competitive network, SOFM and LVQ, and consisted of pre-processing part and associative part. A pre-processing part was processed EMG signal and associative part was outputted signal to control prosthetic robot. To verify the effectiveness, we adapted to 2 link manipulator for korean consonant.

  • 실시간 영상처리를 위해 다양한 시스템이 개발되고 있으며, 이들은 주로 고성능 프로세서에 의존한다. 하지만 이러한 영상처리 시스템은 상대적으로 낮은 성능의 모바일 시스템이나 저전력을 요구하는 시스템에는 적용하기 힘들다. 따라서 다양한 어플리케이션에 적용을 하기 위해서는 영상처리를 위한 좀 더 효율적인 방법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 상대적으로 낮은 성능의 시스템에서도 실시간 영상처리가 가능하도록 인트라 예측기 원리를 이용하여 영상의 처리 범위를 제한하는 전처리 방법을 고안하였고, 이러한 전처리기를 하드웨어 코어로 하는 시스템 구성을 제안한다. 또한 하드웨어 코어 구현 결과와 이를 이용한 영상 처리량 감소 방안을 제시한다.

  • 모바일기기, 이동통신망, 유 무선 통신망의 발전으로 모바일 오피스 도입이 확산되고 있으나, 적절한 보안 대책 선행이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문은 모바일 환경의 통신 구간 보안을 위해 H/W 토큰을 이용한 IPSec VPN 솔루션을 구현함에 있어, H/W 토큰의 I/O 지연에 따른 성능 문제를 극복하는 방안으로 카운터 모드를 이용한 스트림 암호방식을 적용하되 키스트림을 버퍼링하는 방안을 제안하고, 버퍼링 방식이 IP 패킷의 가변 크기, 유실 및 비순차적인 전송 환경에서도 적용 가능한 설계를 제시하고, 구현 결과를 버퍼링을 적용하지 않은 기존 방식과 성능 비교를 통해 제안한 방식의 효율성을 증명한다.

  • PID제어기가 산업현장에서 많은 잇점 때문에 이용되고 있다. 그러나 제어계의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 PID제어기를 변형시킨 여러 가지 제어기법들이 연구개발 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 PI제어계에 전치보상기와 PD제어기를 부가한 전치 보상기를 갖는 PI-PD제어계를 제안하였다. 그리고 정규화법으로 제안한 제어계의 전달함수의 영점과 극점의 소거로 간단한 1차계가 되도록 하였다. PI제어기 및 제어대상전달함수의 계수 값을 이용하여 전치 보상기 빛 PD제어기를 설계 할 수 있도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과로 제안한 제어계의 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • The proposed system was composed of pre-processor which was executing binary/high-pass filtering and post-processor which ranged from statistic data to prediction. In post-processor work, step one was filter process of image, step two was image recognition, and step three was destruction degree/time prediction. After these processing, we could predict image of the last destruction timestamp. This research was produced variation value according to growth of tree pattern. This result showed improved correction, when this research was applied image Processing. Pre-processing step of original image had good result binary work after high pas- filter execution. In the case of using partial discharge of the image, our research could predict the last destruction timestamp. By means of experimental data, this prediction system was acquired $\pm$3.2% error range.

  • This paper describes an image processing method for inspecting the surface outlook of high speed moving plates. Noise free image and a new real time processing methods are required to inspect the surface outlook of the high speed moving plates in real time. It is difficult to get a noise free image due to a signal noise, a light noise and background image in typical industrial factory. Thus, pre-processing techniques should be required to get a good image and produce so many time steps to proceed the image data.   • This research treated development of real time pitch tracer for training of musical tune of speech signal and pre-processing and post-processing technics were proposed to get higher accuracy in extraction of pitch. Autocorrelation Function was used to get pitch frequency from 64Hz to 980Hz in real time. Half Rectifier method and Envelop extraction method as a pre-processing was used to get higher accuracy in pitch detection, and improved results were obtained on noised speech signal. Post-processing method using periodicity of Autocorrelation was proposed to get higher accuracy in the high frequency region.

  • In this paper, an algorithm is presented to recognize lane and obstacles based on highway road image. The road images obtained by a video camera undergoes a pre-processing that includes filtering, edge detection, and identification of lanes. After this pre-processing, a part of image is grouped into 27 sub-windows and fed into a three-layer feed-forward neural network. The neural network is trained to indicate the road direction and the presence of absence of an obstacle. The proposed algorithm has been tested with the images different from the training images, and demonstrated its efficacy for recognizing lane and obstacles. Based on the test results, it can be said that the algorithm successfully combines the traditional image processing and the neural network principles towards a simpler and more efficient driver warning of assistance system
