역사극의 분석틀을 활용한 영화 <자산어보>의 내레이션 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Narration Characteristics of <The Book of Fish> Using the Analysis Frame of Historical Drama)

  • 본 연구는 영화 <자산어보>(2021)가 19세기 성리학적 질서가 흔들리며 서서히 몰락해가는 조선을 어떤 방식으로 재현하고 있는지를 분석을 통해 살펴보기 위해 기획되었다. 분석에 앞서 역사극의 내레이션 특성을 고려하여 역사극의 분석틀을 제시하였다. 우리는 역사극의 분석틀을 활용하여 <자산어보>가 유배 서사의 플롯 구조를 기반으로 정약전, 장창대가 시대의 한계와 가능성 사이에서 주체적 개인으로 자신의 삶을 살아가는 모습을 재현하고 있음을 확인하였다. 흑백과 컬러 이미지의 대비, 보이스 오버 내레이션의 적극적 활용, 한시 자막과 음악 등으로 만들어낸 중심기억과 잉여기억을 통해 영화는 주체적 개인으로 살아가기 위해 필요한 것이 무엇인지에 관한 보편적인 질문을 우리에게 던지고 있다.

  • 본 연구는 영화 <라이프 오브 파이>(2013)을 통한 영화치유의 수업사례이다. 영화치유는 영화를 통한 동일시, 공감, 감정이입, 투사, 관찰학습 과정을 거쳐 진행된다. 연구를 통해 학생들은 영화 속 인물의 상황을 객관적으로 살펴보고, 이를 자신에게 동일시하고, 공감하게 된다. 학생들은 영화 속 인물의 상황을 평가하고, '내가 만약 주인공이라면 어떻게 할 것인지'에 대한 답을 통해 영화 속 인물이 당면한 고난을 간접 경험하고, 자신은 어떻게 할 것인가를 고민해본다. 주인공의 뛰어난 점을 동경하고, 자신의 삶을 성찰해본다. 이러한 과정을 통해 학생들은 자신의 감정과 문제의 상황을 살펴보고 해결할 수 있는 방법을 구체적으로 제시하게 된다. 결국 영화를 통해 학생들의 감정은 충분히 치유될 수 있는 것이다. 영화를 통한 치유는 치료자가 내담자를 고려한 영화선정에서 출발해야 한다. 이를 적용한 구체적인 방법도 충분히 제시할 필요가 있다. 영화치유의 방안은 앞으로 다양한 치유 방법의 제시로 더욱 발전할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

  • 본 연구는 이청준 소설 「눈길」을 통한 독서치유의 수업사례이다. 독서치유는 독서를 통한 동일화, 카타르시스, 표출, 통찰, 적용과정을 거쳐 진행된다. 연구를 통해 학생들은 소설 속 인물의 상황을 객관적으로 살펴보고, 이를 자신의 상황과 비교해서 바라보게 된다. 학생들은 소설 속 인물의 상황을 평가하고, '내가 만약 소설 속인물이라면 어떻게 할 것인지'에 대한 답을 통해 소설 속 인물의 다양한 삶의 입장을 경험하고, 자신은 그들의 삶과 다르게 살아갈 것이라는 자신의 의지를 표출한다. 그러면서 나와 부모님과의 관계를 들여다보고, 문제가 있는지, 있으면 어떻게 해결해나갈 것인지에 대해 진지하게 고민해본다. 이러한 과정을 통해 학생들은 자신의 감정과 문제의 상황을 살펴보고 해결할 수 있는 방법을 구체적으로 제시하게 된다. 결국 독서를 통해 학생들의 상처받은 감정은 일정부분 혹은 충분히 치유될 수 있는 것이다. 이 연구를 통해 독서치유의 방법이 좀더 구체화되고, 긍정적인 방향으로 발전하기를 기대한다.

냉각 실린더의 수평 거리가 저장 용기 내부의 기체 수소 자연대류 현상에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Horizontal Distance of Cold Cylinders on Natural Convection of Gaseous Hydrogen in a Physical Storage Container)

  • This study conducted direct numerical simulations of the natural convection phenomena of gaseous hydrogen in a physical storage container containing four circular cylinders. Rayleigh numbers (Ra) in the range of 104≤Ra≤106 and a Prandtl number (Pr)=0.69 (gaseous hydrogen) were considered. The main parameter is a horizontal distance of four circular cylinders and the values of εh=0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 are considered. The flow and thermal structures and corresponding heat transfer characteristics are investigated with respect to the transition of the flow regime. The time- and surface-averaged Nusselt number on the cylinder surface and the wall of physical storage container increased by about 57% and 69% according to the Ra and εh, respectively. Thus, the horizontal distance has an influence on the heat transfer characteristics on natural convection of gaseous hydrogen.

A Survey and Analysis on the Current Status of the Mobile Applications for Garden Design

  • This study aimed to examine the current status of mobile applications for garden design and extract valuable contents for the development of garden design programs for future reference. Mobile applications released in Korean or English on Google Play App Market as of July, 2018 were analyzed in this study (1 application in Korea and 14 applications overseas). The purposes of this study are to analyze the components of the programs for those who actually intend to create a garden and to use it as a resource for developing mobile applications for garden design. Thus, program components and contents were analyzed for garden design applications based on real space (1 application in Korea and 3 applications overseas) that could actually help users. The analysis of mobile applications for garden design shows that while overseas garden programs are rapidly developing in various fields, the number of garden design mobile applications developed in Korea and the amount of information platforms are significantly insufficient. This study suggested flowchart for garden design mobile applications based on the analysis results of existing garden design application. This flowchart includes a series of processes from planning/designing gardens to purchasing plants and facilities to constructing/maintaining gardens for users who intend to design and create a real garden. Furthermore, this study proposed a freemium business model based on 4R(Reflex, Reality, Real place, Real communication) marketing strategies for mobile applications. Realistic experiences can be increased through graphics and information about gardens and plants provided in this study, and location-based information services as well as the creation of systems connected with vendors and suppliers of products related to gardens can induce consumers' purchasing behaviors. Additionally PR activities through various garden-related cultural events are expected to attract more users.

근거에 기반한 의약품의 유익성-위해성 평가 (Evidence-Based Benefit-Risk Assessment of Medication)

  • Objectives: Balancing benefits and risks through the drug life cycle has been discussed for many decades. The objective of this study was to review the processes and tools currently proposed for benefit-risk assessment of medicinal drugs. It aimed to establish scientific and efficient drug safety management system based on the synthetic analysis of benefit-risk evidence. Methods: We conducted a review of exiting literatures published by regulatory agencies or initiatives. Not only quantitative methodologies but also qualitative method were compared to understand their key characteristics for the benefit and risk assessment of drugs. Results: Recently, benefit-risk assessments have more structured approaches to decision making as part of regulatory science. Regulatory agencies such as European Medicines Agency, FDA have prepared plans to apply benefit-risk assessment to regulatory decision making. Also many initiatives such as IMI (Innovative Medicine Initiative) have conducted research and published reports about benefit-risk assessment. For benefit-risk assessment, four kinds of methods are necessary. Frameworks such as BRAT (Benefit Risk Action Team) framework, PrOACT-URL provide guidance for the whole process of decision-making. Metrics are measurements of risk benefit. The estimation techniques are methods to synthesis and combine evidences from various sources. The utility survey techniques are necessary to explicit preferences of various outcome from stakeholders. Conclusion: There is the lack of widely accepted, validated model for benefit-risk assessment. Nor there is an agreement among academia, industry, and government on methods for the quantitative valuation. It is also limited by available evidence and underlying assumptions. Nevertheless, benefit-risk assessment is fundamental to improve transparency, consistency and predictability for decision making through the structured systematic approaches.

Chronic Respiratory Symptoms and Associated Factors among Fruit and Vegetable Workers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: A Comparative Cross sectional Study

  • Background: Fruit and vegetable market is an abundant source of bioaerosols. Exposure to organic and inorganic waste and long-term inhalation of bioaerosols during working hours leads to chronic respiratory symptoms. Hence, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of chronic respiratory symptoms and related factors among fruit and vegetable workers compared with the control group in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Methods and materials: A comparative cross-sectional study was conducted from 2020 to 2021. Data were entered in EpiData 3.1 and exported to Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. Logistic regressions were computed to depict the data and related factors. The culture method was done to count and compare bacterial and fungal concentrations between fruit and vegetable workers and office workers. Results: In this study, the prevalence of chronic respiratory symptoms (PR = 2.87, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.772-4.66) was significantly higher among fruit and vegetable workers (46.7%) than controls (23.4%). Sex (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 2.11, 95% CI = 1.12-3.98), educational status (AOR = 1.34, 95% CI = 0.78-2.32), working hours per day (AOR = 3.91, 95% CI = 1.586-9.65), and working department (AOR = 3.20, 95% CI = 0.90-11.40) were associated with chronic respiratory symptoms. Bacterial and fungal concentrations were significantly higher in the air of the vegetable market (276 colony-forming unit) than the air in the workplace of controls (7 colony-forming unit). Conclusion: The fruit and vegetable market workers (greengrocers) had a higher prevalence of chronic respiratory symptoms relative to office workers. Respiratory protective devices should be given to deliver preventive measures.

부산물 분체 및 굵은 골재를 활용한 프리팩트형 열전도성 되메움재의 성능 (Performances of Prepacked-Type Thermal Conductive Backfills Incorporating Byproduct Powders and Aggregates)

  • 이 연구는, 프리팩트 콘크리트 공법을 적용하여, 상대적으로 높은 열전도도를 가진 굵은 골재를 먼저 채우고 이 사이를 고유동성 그라우트로 충전하는 개념의 열전도도성 되메움재를 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 열전도도가 개선된 되메움재는 지중열 교환기 혹은 지중 송전설비의 열교환 효율을 높일 수 있다. 부순 콘크리트를 골재로, 그라우트는 플라이애시 기반으로 설정하였으며, 소량의 시멘트를 사용하여 고화하였다. 연구 결과, ASTM D 6103 기준 플로우 450 mm 이상의 유동성을 갖는 플라이애시-시멘트-가는 모래 기반 그라우트를 사용하여 최대 25 mm 크기의 자갈을 충전할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 자갈로 충전된 되메움재의 열전도도는 1.7 W/m·K 이상으로, 자갈 없이 유동화된 그라우트로는 달성할 수 없는 높은 열전도도를 보였다.

Experimental and numerical study on tensile capacity of composite cable-girder anchorage joint

  • Cable-girder anchorage joint is the critical part of cable-supported bridges. Tensile-plate anchorage (TPA) is one of the most commonly used types of cable-girder anchorage joints in steel girder cable-supported bridges. In recent years, it has been proposed by bridge designers to apply TPA to concrete girder cable-supported bridges to form composite cable-girder anchorage joint (CCGAJ). In this paper, the mechanical performance of CCGAJ under tensile force is studied through experimental and numerical analyses. Firstly, the effects of the external prestressing (EP) and the bearing plate (BP) on the mechanical performance of CCGAJ were investigated through three tests. Then, finite element model was established for parametrical study, and was verified by the experimental results. Then, the effects of shear connector forms, EP, BP, vertical rebar rate, and perforated rebar rate on the tensile capacity of CCGAJ were investigated through numerical analyses. The results show that the tensile capacity of CCGAJ depends on the first row of PR. The failure mode of CCGAJ using headed stud connectors is to form a shear failure surface at the end of the studs while the failure mode using PBLs is similar to the bending of a deep girder. Finally, based on the strut-and-tie model (STM), a calculation method for CCGAJ tensile capacity was proposed, which has a high accuracy and can be used to calculate the tensile capacity of CCGAJ.

A rare ginsenoside compound K (CK) induces apoptosis for breast cancer cells

  • Background: A breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women worldwide and among different types of breast cancers, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has a poor prognosis. Methods: We investigated the potential of ginsenoside compound K (CK), an active ingredient in the bio-transformed ginsenoside, to be used as a therapeutic ingredient by examining the effects of CK on cell proliferation, apoptosis, and cancer-related gene expressions in breast cancer cells. Results: From the results of treating MCF-7, an ER and PR-positive breast cancer cells, and MDA-MB-231 (TNBC) with CK at a concentration of 0-100 µM, the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values for each cell were 52.17 µM and 29.88 µM, respectively. And also, it was confirmed that cell migration was inhibited above the IC50 concentration. In addition, fluorescence analysis of Apoptosis/Necrosis showed that CK induced apoptosis rather than necrosis of breast cancer cells. Through qPCR, it was confirmed that the expression of genes related to apoptosis and cell cycle arrest was increased in CK-treated breast cancer cells, and it acted more effectively on TNBC. However, the expression of genes related to tumor invasion and metastasis is also increased, so it is necessary to consider the timing of application of CK as a potential therapeutic anticancer compound. Conclusions: CK showed a stronger inhibitory effect in TNBC with poor prognosis but considering the high tumor invasion and metastasis-related gene expression, the timing of application of CK should be considered.
