  • This paper presents a design of network and database structure of the integrated system for power system operational planning and analysis that will be more economical and stable of power system operation. An alias of this system is Highly Integrated Total Energy System(HITES). The Client/server model of HITES is designed as a remote data management model. The input/output-type of application programs and Oracle server is standardized. The separated user-databases from main-database strengthen security of HITES. It is plan to do that tables and relationships are defined by database designs. The connection of application program and DBMS of HITES will be tested through database design and data construction.

  • The KEPCO is developing the load forecasting sysetm using land use simulation method and distribution planning system. Distribution planning needs the data of presents loads, forecasted loads sub-statin, and distribution lines. Using the data, determine the sub-station and feeder lines according to the load forecasting data. This paper presents the method of formulation processfor the long term load forecasting and optimal distribution planning and optimal distribution planning. And describes the case study of long term distribution planning of Kwangju city accord to the newly applied method.

  • Power generated from renewable energy has continuously increased recently. As the distributed generation begins to interconnect in the distribution system, an accurate generation forecasting has become important in efficient distribution planning. This paper explained method and current state of distributed power generation forecasting models. This paper presented selecting input and output variables for the forecasting model. In addition, this paper analyzed input variables and forecasting models that can use as mid-to long-term distributed power generation forecasting.

  • This paper presents an economical generation planning for operating power systems with dispersed generation. As dispersed generation introduced into an electric power distribution system, the power system will be complicated and have much variable aspects. So there is need for developing new generation scheduling. In this paper, the proposed method is tested for distribution system with two battery storage resources. Optimal generation planning of 15 thermal units in 24-hours is achieved by improved genetic algorithm. Also, to show its effectiveness, the results are compared with those of not including battery storage resources.

  • In this study, we performed the long-term expansion planning for the conceptual design of HTS power cable in Seoul area. In Korea, underground power cable has been required gradually with increasing demand of electric power transmission density and low loss characteristics in the comparison with a conventional power cables, so we assumed that the HTS power cable is applied between the downtown area and the outskirts of the city for the large power transmission capacity. This paper is to show the effects of HTS power cables in Seoul based on the power system analysis.

  • Because land based aquaculture is restricted by high investment per rearing volume and control cost, good management planning is important in Land-based aquaculture system case. In this paper master production planning was made to decide the number of rearing, production schedule and efficient allocation of water resources considering biological and economic condition. The purpose of this article is to build the mathematical decision making model that finds the value of decision variable to maximize profit under the constraints. Stocking and harvesting decisions that are made by master production planning are affected by the price system, feed cost, labour cost, power cost and investment cost. To solve the proposed mathematical model, heuristic search algorithm is proposed. The model Input variables are (1) the fish price (2) the fish growth rate (3) critical standing corp (4) labour cost (5) power cost (6) feed coefficient (7) fixed cost. The model outputs are (1) number of rearing fish (2) sales price (3) efficient allocation of water pool.

  • The wind power generation systems have a fluctuating or intermittent power output due to the variability of the wind speed. The amount of wind generation which can be connected to the grid without causing voltage stability problems is limited. In this study, the simulation of the wind power generation including energy storage system were performed to reduce the fluctuation of wind power output and to obtain the optimal operation planning of energy storage system.

  • This paper presents the results of critical contingency analysis for the Korean power system which is performed to identify the impact of the critical contingencies on the Korean power system and set up a short term system operation planning for the purpose of preventing large scale blackout. The static and dynamic simulation is carried out for each critical contingency and the simulation results for each contingency are shown under the peak load condition for the year 2005, 2007 and 2010.
