With the expansion in the use of DC power systems and increased need for system maintenance, the development of measurement devices for maintenance requires high stability. Of the different kinds of DC current measurement devices, the single-shot measurement device causes the input signal of the current measuring unit to initially generate a high inrush current. The high inrush current flows into the signal processor of the meter, shortening the life of the internal fuses and causing failure. Therefore, in this study, the I2t value for increasing the durability of the fuse is designed using the available wire diameter. Operating characteristics for 210~400% over-current of the rated current, which is relatively low over-current, are realized by the plating of low melting tin metal. As a result, a method of designing a fuse element for a DC power supply, which improves the safety of the DC current measurement device by blocking the failure caused by the inrush current, is presented.

According to expansion of wireless communication system and mobile device, interest has been growing in personal navigation system integrated with wireless system. In portable consumer electronics, such as cellular phones, GPS and PDA, one of major design factors is the power consumption. Solutions of reducing the power dissipation are low voltage, low system clock power management and so on. This paper develops a GPS receiver based on the advanced power management algorithm that achieves very low average power consumption. Both RF and DSP chips are powered down and reactivated only when the position fixing is required. In order to run, the developed includes the RTC calibration function and the fast reacquisition function using XMC (eXtended Multiple Correlator) ...
To improve the throughput of Device-to-Device (D2D) communication, we focus on the scenario where D2D pair can reuse multi-channel of cellular communication. However, as sharing same channel with cellular communication can cause interference between D2D communication and cellular communication, a proper interference management is needed. In this paper, we propose interference-based channel allocation to select the channels to be used by D2D communication and a solution from game theory perspective to optimize the D2D communication throughput under multi-channel as well as guarantee the interference from it to cellular network. The simulation results verify the stability of the proposed method.
This paper describes the design and implementation of a electromagnetic energy harvesting mechanism and electronic circuit for autonomous emergency call system. This analysis results show the power output of the proposed harvesting mechanism and circuit up to max power output 5V and it can hold up to 65 msec of the power generation and 10msec of the RF transmission. Based on the these testing results, the implementation of autonomous emergency call device without battery power or any external power source is feasible.

The cooling system is one of the most concerning factor for the reliability of the electric propulsion ship. Generally, a drive system operation in higher temperature decreases the device's reliability and power efficiency. The management of power loss and temperature of switching devices is indispensable for the reliability of the power electric system. In this paper, the switching devices are molded by IGBT, and the propulsion system is consisted of MIIR(Motor with Inverter Internal to Rotor). The system composition interacts with each other to calculate the loss and temperature of device. The calculation result is used for modeling and designing of the control and monitoring system for the electric propulsion system.
In this paper, we propose a context-aware power management (CPM) scheme using beacons to reduce the power consumption of personal computers (PCs). In the proposed CPM scheme, the PC, smartphone, control server, and Internet of Things (IoT) device are necessary. PC users first log in the control server using their smartphones and select PCs to turn on. Then, the selected PCs automatically go into three different modes, i.e., sleep, shutdown, and standby power off modes, in order when the PC users leave the PCs without turning off them. Further, we develop a testbed with the proposed CPM scheme using the Arduino with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and relay modules. Finally, it is shown that the proposed CPM scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of the power consumption.
