  • TCU is a shift controller far automatic transmission of which major functions are to determine the shift point and manage the shifting process based on the various input signals. As the recent digital control technologies advance, it plays a key-role to improve a transmission performance and its algorithm becomes more complicated. This paper describes the development of transmission simulator fur wheel loader that enables a TCU for normal stand-alone operation by the real-time emulation of TCU interface signals. It can be utilized for the analysis of shift control algorithm implemented in a commercial TCU as well as for the development of brand new TCU.

  • In the present study, a robust controller has been designed to control force for a pneumatic driving system considering the effect of a transmission line. Transfer characteristics of pneumatic transmission line should be changed according to the velocity of the air going through the transmission line. The designed controller is composed of two parts. The one is a feedback controller, which is composed of a stabilizing filter, a compensating filter of modelling error and a nominal model of the force control system, to compensate the influence of transmission line and improve the feedback characteristics of the control system, and, the other is a feedforward controller to achieve the control performance. Control results with the designed controller show that the robustness and performance of the control system are improved compared to the control results with a fixed gain controller.

  • Recently, underground transmission system is growing continuously according to the electric power demand increase in the downtown area. Even if domestic cable makers are manufacturing 154kV oil filled cable and joint, the design technology of cable-joint has not been fully self-reliance. This study is aimed at the detail heat transfer analysis of 154kV cable-joint. So, that is cut into the five sections in order to analyze a conjugate natural convection in two dimensional $r-{\theta}$ coordinate. The streamline and temperature distributions are obtained for each sections. Also the changes of those are analyzed with respect to the variation of transmission currents and cable-joint surface heat transfer coefficients. The same analyses are also shown in view point of the maximum temperature of conductor and local equivalent conductivity.

  • The characteristics of Korean power systems are large capacity of generation sites and concentrated load in Seoul metropolitan area. According to the national generation facility plan, more generation facilities are needed to be constructed as the electrical demands are forecasted to increase. Moreover, the size of generation sites are expected to increase, too. Therefore transient stability problems become worse and worse. Recently, the necessity of HVDC has been raised to overcome the difficulty of constructing HVAC transmission lines. This paper shows the analysis of transient stability when HVDC transmission system is added to the power system consisting of large generation sites.

  • The attenuation of waves transmitted through non-conservative joints that are shown in many practical structures, is affected by the impedance and the orientation of the joint. In this paper, the joints between plate structures are assumed to be modeled as linear spring-dashpot systems and the transmission and reflection of vibration energy in the medium to high frequency ranges are investigated. • It has been a basic model for the present electric power industry that more than two generators compete, and thereby the market clearing price and the generation schedules are determined through the bid process. In order for this paradigm to be applicable to real electric power systems and markets, it is necessary to reflect many physical and economic constraints related to frequency and transmission in the dispatching schedule. The paper presents an approach to deriving a Nash bargaining solution in a competitive electricity market where multiple generators are playing with the system operator who mitigates the transmission congestion to minimize the total transaction cost. In this study, we take the effect of the line flows and the role of system operator into the Game. Finally, a case study has been demonstrated to verify the proposed cooperative game.

  • In this paper, as a part of the method improving stability, the load-flow calculation in D.C. power system and the models for stability analysis are studied with A.C-D.C. interconnected power systems transmission performed. Moreover, the theory is established in relation to each control method of D.C. power systems. Then the stability of A.C-D.C.interconnected power systems is compared and considered by the way of dividing the operating control method of the rectifier inverter converter into ACR-AVR, APR-A.gamma.R, A.alpha.R-ACR. The dynamics characteristic of terminal voltage, frequency, active-reactive power and rotor angle of the generator with disturbances and load fluctuations is considered. In addition, the characteristic of direct voltage, direct current, power and control systems. From this the comparative analysis of the direct current control method, the possibility of the stability analysis of A.C.-D.C. interconnected power system is considered. • Owing to the increase in the penetration of distributed generation the DGs connected to the distribution system have an effect on the system conditions of the transmission system and neighboring distribution systems. This makes the separate analysis of the transmission and distribution system no longer valid and requires the consideration of both the system in the analysis process. This paper proposes a transmission/distribution integrated analysis hybrid algorithm that would ensure the accurate analysis of the system by reflecting the results of the transmission and distribution system analysis on each other. Different scenarios are being analysed in order to verify the effectiveness of the hybrid algorithm by observing the effects of the DG connected distribution system on the transmission system and neighboring distribution systems. The algorithm and simulations performed are being conducted by MATLAB and the IEEE 30 bus system and a test distribution system has been utilized for the transmission and distribution systems respectively.

  • This paper describes the overvoltage analysis and reduction methods of insulation joint boxes in underground transmission power cables when direct lightning surge strikes to overhead transmission line. An actual 154kV combined transmission line with underground Power cables was modelled in ATPDraw for simulation. Simulations were performed to analyze the overvoltage between insulation joint boxes, sheath-to-ground voltage according to the distance between cable conductors, cable lengths, burying types, CCPU connection types. The most effective method to reduce the induced overvoltage of Insulation joint boxes was proposed. It is evaluated that the proposed reduction method riven from the detailed simulations can be effectively applied to the actual underground power cable systems.
