Implementation and Economic Evaluation of Movable Power Supply Device for Electric Vehicle (EV용 이동형 전원공급장치의 구현 및 경제성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Power quality problems caused by feeder voltage drop and extension construction cost problems can occur with the increasing utilization rates of the existing fixed-type EV (electric vehicle) charger. Moreover, EV users might not be able to access the EV charger due to a lack of EV charging facilities. Therefore, this paper proposes an MPSD (movable power supply device) for EVs to overcome user inconvenience caused by the insufficient number of chargers and extension cost issues. The proposed MPSD was mainly composed of a PV (photovoltaic) system, ESS (energy storage system), EV charging system, and monitoring and control system. Furthermore, there are three operation modes available to enhance the flexibility of the MPSD application, depending on the situation. This paper also presents an economical evaluation modeling using the present worth method to consider the cost and benefit elements. The simulation results based on proposed modeling showed that MPSD is more economical than the existing EV charger. Moreover, its profit can be increased significantly depending on the distance to the installation point.

Power Disturbance Detection using the Inflection Point Estimation (변곡점 추정을 이용한 전력선 신호의 이상현상 검출)

  • Power line signal can show disturbances due to various causes. Typical anomalies are temporary sag/swell of the amplitude, flat topped signal, and harmonic distortions. The disturbances need to be detected and treated properly for the quality of the power signal. In this study, the power disturbances are detected using the inflection points (IP). The inflection points are defined as points where local maxima/minima or the slope changes occur. The power line signal has a fixed IP pattern since it is basically sinusoidal, and it may have additional inflection points if there is any disturbance. The disturbance is detected by comparing the IP patterns between the normal signal and distorted signal. In addition, by defining a cost function, the time instant where the disturbance happens can be decided. The computer simulation shows that the proposed method is useful for the detection of various disturbances. The simple sag or swell signal only shows the amplitude changes at the detected inflection points. However, the flat top signal and harmonically distorted signal produce additional inflection points and large values in the cost function. These results can be exploited for the further processing of disturbance classification.

Analysis on the Actual Conditions of Wastewater Treatment Facilities in Chungcheongnam-do Province Industrial Complexes (충청남도 산업단지의 오·폐수처리실태 분석)

  • This study was carried out to survey the actual conditions of wastewater treatment facilities to obtain basic data for the management of wastewater from industrial complexes in Chungcheongnam-do province. Wastewater production flow per site area by watersheds was $49.2m^3/km^2/d$ for Sapgyoho, $8.1m^3/km^2/d$ for Anseongcheon, $5.7m^3/km^2/d$ for Seohae, and $2.9m^3/km^2/d$ for Geumgang. Sapgyoho showed 75% of the total production flow, which was the highest value, Geumgang showed 4% of total flow, which was the lowest value. Average total extra rate as production flow/capacity flow in the wastewater treatment facilities for industrial complex is 49%. Considering by watersheds, the extra rates of Seohae, Geumgang, Anseongcheon, and Sapgyoho, are 73%, 65%, 62%, and 33% respectively. This means that the design of capacity flow in wastewater treatment facilities was too large. Effluent concentration of wastewater treatment facilities did not exceed discharge limit mostly. The removal efficiency rate for water quality item was 90% in BOD, 70% in COD, 80% in SS, 30 to 80% in TN, and 20 to 90% in TP, so the organic removal was good, but the nutrient removal was low and interval of variation was high. The removal efficiency rate of the agricultural was industrial complexes is lower than the national and local complexes. The construction cost of the wastewater treatment facilities in Chungcheongnam-do was $1,756Won\;per\;m^3$, treatment cost was $189Won\;per\;m^3$, and they were about two times and 1.2 times higher than the nation-wide cost, respectively. The treatment cost consists of 39% for man power, 21% for chemical, 16% for power, 11% for sludge treatment, and 13% for others.

  • The utility interfaced sinewave modulation Inverter for the solar photovoltaic power conditioner with a high frequency transformer is presented for residential applications. As compared with the conventional full-bridge hard switching slnewave PWM inverter with a high frequency link, the simplest single-ended edge-resonant soft switching sinewave inverter with a sinewave duty cycle pulse control scheme is implemented, resulting in size and weight reduction, low cost and high efficiency This paper presents a prototype system of the sinewave zero voltage soft switching sinewave inverter for solar power conditioner, along with its operating principle and unique features. In addition to these, this paper discusses a control implementation to deliver high quality output current. Major design of each component and the power loss analysis under actual power processing is also discussed and evaluated from an experimental point of view A newly developed utility-connected sinewave power conditioning circuit which achieves 92.5% efficiency under 4kW output is demonstrated.

Utility-Interactive Four-Switch Three-Phase Soft-Switching Inverter with Single Resonant DC-Link Snubber and Boost Chopper

  • In this paper, a novel proposal for a utility-interactive three-phase soft commutation sinewave PWM power conditioner with an auxiliary active resonant DC-link snubber is developed for fuel cell and solar power generation systems. The prototype of this power conditioner consists of a PWM boost chopper cascaded three-phase power conditioner, a single two-switch auxiliary resonant DC-link snubber with two electrolytic capacitors incorporated into one leg of a three-phase V-connection inverter and a three-phase AC power source. The proposed cost-effective utility-interactive power conditioner implements a unique design and control system with a high-frequency soft switching sinewave PWM scheme for all system switches. The operating performance of the 10 kW experimental setup including waveform quality, EMI/RFI noises and actual efficiency characteristics of the proposed power conditioner are demonstrated on the basis of the measured data.

  • Constant airflow should be kept in order to operate a constant-fired boiler of thermal power plants. Main Bearing Assembly Unit which rotates the ventilation fan does very important role to maintain constant airflow. However, the demand to the output of power is getting increased while the quality level of coal is getting worse than the initial level of design criteria. Especially cost wise operation considering increasing output and the difficulty to supply good quality coal drive increasing supply of low quality coal. As a result, the service life of Main Bearing Assembly is getting shorter till 2~3 years which is just a half of the life of original design. In this study, what causes to shorten the service life of Main Bearing Assembly Unit is analyzed through the reverse engineering and analysis and how to improve the service life more than two times to current situation is explained.

The Relationship between Educational Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intention of Scuba Diving (스쿠버다이빙의 교육 서비스품질과 고객만족 및 재구매의사의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to study the relationship between quality of education service in scuba diving and customer satisfaction and willingness to buy again. Scuba of scuba diving in Seoul was selected as a population and a total of 200 questionnaires were distributed using the "conven-ence sampling" among the non-probability sampling methods. A total of 154 data were used as valid samples, except for 46 questionnaires that were found to have been unfaithfully answered. The data processing method was used by the SPSS18.0 program to perform frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, after analyzing the relationship between the quality of education service and customer satisfaction, the facilities among the quality of education services (β=).349), Program (β=.340) has been shown to affect satisfaction. In addition, if we look at customer satisfaction of the quality of education services, we find that the quality of education has an explanatory power of about 47% of the total quantity of the quality of education services. Second, after analyzing the relationship between the quality of education services and the repurchase, the cost of the quality of education services (β =).215), a program (β=.442) was found to affect repurchase. Also, if we look at the ability to explain the repeat purchase of the quality of education services, it is found that it has an explanatory power of about 53% of the total quantity of the quality of education services. Third, after analyzing the relationship between customer satisfaction and repurchase (β=).555) was found to affect repurchase. In addition, if we look at the explanatory power of resurchasing satisfaction, we find that it has an explanatory power of about 55% of the total quantity.

  • An Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS) is a system designed to deliver energy during accidents that the AC mains is out of its acceptable limits, without interruption of power flow through the load. Battery Discharger is the device to supply high quality power to the Inverter, when accidents occur, such as Power Failure. The Battery Discharger should have a fast response characteristics. The LLC resonant converter for UPS battery discharger is proposed. The proposed Battery Discharger offers substantial improvements in efficiency, size and cost. The proposed Battery Discharger of UPS approach is a good solution for high power applications above KW. To verify the validity of proposed Battery Discharger, simulations and experiments are carried out.

  • Resent research activities and technical trends for UPS(UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY) are reviewed. There are increasing demands for UPS to get mote useful performance. This needs are high-efficiency, high-confidency, high-quality, low-cost. self-diagnosis. maintenance-free, and a wide variety of options. These can be satisfied with high-technology and optimal system coordination. In this paper. according to these demands. a newly developed UPS and a wide variety of options are introduced.
