A development the system to assist planning and designing a route for transmission line based 3D GIS and CAD technology (3차원 GIS & CAD를 기반으로 하는 송전선로 경과지 선정시스템 개발)

  • These days, it is not easy to construct the transmission line because of the environmental association activity, a civil appeal, etc. To solve these kinds of difficulties, the program with leading-edge IT technology, such as GIS, 3 dimensions CAD, computer graphic, etc., is developed to be more transparent and objective in the design stage of the transmission line and the selection stage of the transmission line route. Comparing this program with previous methods, this program is composed of the environmental evaluation program, data producing program for analysis and selecting line route program because it is not possible to conduct those kinds of work without any help from the computer and well-developed program. To confirm the performance of the program, the result from the program and the human were compared. Therefore, the result from the program was same as the result conducted by human. In addition, the program makes the selection of the transmission line route easier by checking the mountainside, lumbering, the estimated cost of the tower construction, etc. in real-time.

The analysis result of temporary operation of 765 kV transmission line as 345 kV rating (765 kV 송전선로의 345 kV 운전에 따른 계통 해석)

  • This paper describes the power frequency voltage and its countermeasure when a 765 kV transmission line is directly connected to a 345 kV line and operated at 345 kV voltage. The summary of this result is as follows : The western route of 765 kV transmission line doesn't need any countermeasure to reduce the power frequency voltage at the receiving end. The eastern route of 765 kV transmission needs 100 Mvar(3 phase) capacity of shunt reactor at the receiving end to reduce the power frequency voltage. The use of shunt reactors in the 765 kV transmission lines has unexpected problems, one of which is induction of high voltages on a de-energized circuit of two parallel lines. This paper examined the problem of resonance on two parallel transmission circuits in one routes.

  • Electrical energy is an essential component in present societies, which is an important basis for our technological society. In the design of new power infrastructure, it is important to consider the psychological aspects of how our culture considers and aspects its development as an integral component of the community environment. The construction of new high voltage overhead transmission lines has become a controversial issue for public policy of government due to social opposition. The members of community are concerned about how these power lines may have an impact on their lives, basically caused by their effects on health and safety. The landscape and visual impact is one of the most impact that can be easily perceived for local community. The computer 3D simulation of new landscape is illustrated by a real life use corresponding to the selection of the power line route with least observability for local community. This paper used ArcGIS(geographic information system tool) for planning, survey, basic route and detailed route, route for implementation of transmission line corridor. Also, the paper showed the map of natural environment, living environment, safety and altitude using database of power line corridor, and transmission siting model was developed by this study. The suggested landscape of computer simulation with lowest visibility on a power line zone can contribute to reducing oppositions of local community and accelerating the construction of new power lines.

  • According to the construction plan of Samcheok electric power complex from year 2009 to year 2020, many people are interested in this area. This national project which invests about 8.6 trillion won will have great influence to rail transport considering current depression days. Samcheok electric power complex will be the largest plan in Korea, and it is necessary to have railroad construction plan as soon as possible considering the route change of domestic coal transport and the possibility of coal transport by rail from North Korea, Russia and China after reunification of Korean peninsula. Also, Samcheok electric power complex will be located in the east area railroad route and it is important to study about this area. This study will mention about the railroad route of east sea north line and Pohang $\sim$ Samcheok line, and review the prospect and strengthening method of coal transport by railroad according to the construction of Samcheok electric power complex.

Improvement of NIMBY Facilities Route Planning Considering Social Conflict (사회적 갈등을 고려한 비선호시설 노선 선정 개선 연구)

  • In route selection process of NIMBY facilities, many conflicts occur due to route selection procedure and NIMBY syndrome. Especially, the social conflicts surrounding the site selection and operation are frequent enough to account for 70% of the total conflict cases, causing significant losses. To resolve the conflict in route selection, social conflicts are considered. Therefore, this study proposes an improved process of selecting route considering social conflicts in the power transmission line. First, the analysis of previous research trends and interviews with experts revealed the improved exclusion zone criteria, the factors and priorities of NIMBY facilities. After selecting the candidate routes, the optimal route is selected by using Fuzzy-TOPSIS. Hence, 83.3% of six experts have verified that this model minimizes conflicts and has sufficient applicability. The proposed model is expected to be used as a tool to minimize social conflict in the selection process of the power transmission line in the early stage of the project.

  • Recently, the principal processes of T/L design tend to computerize and therefore integrated T/L design system has been developed. Since, it makes the automatic selection of T/L route, tower position and optimum design possible, computerized design method is applied all over the world. KEPCO introduced Optimal PowerLINE for T/L design in Myanmar 500kV project that is as a part of overseas project. And as a result of that work, effective and economical design was carried out. This paper presents the comparative analysis between Previous method and Optimal PowerLINE method for investigating practical application to Myanmar 500kV T/L design.

  • The tendency of lightning surge to propagate is a eared variously depend on the power system and subject equipment of protection. However, looking into the subject equipment with the lightning surge, the invasion route of lightning surge can be divided in between the two lines of power, between the power line and the ground, the power line and the PE conductor, between the neutral line and the ground and the like. In addition, in the event of the communication equipment, there exists the route of lightning surge incoming from between the communication lines, the communication line and the ground in addition to the power lines. In this study, the tendency of propagation of lightning surge penetrated on to the subject equipment is analyzed through the empirical experiment in accordance with the ground method by using the independent ground, common ground and bypass arrester ground for safety improvement in power lines.

  • In this paper, an electrical power simulation program was developed to predict the energy consumption of the electrical railway propulsion system, which considered the actual operating conditions of the electric railway vehicles. The developed program was designed to predictable the energy consumption during a virtual driving in the actual route of the virtual railway vehicles equipped with a propulsion system consisting of power conversion equipments and traction motors. In addition, the accuracy verification of the electrical power simulation program for a propulsion system was performed by using a real power consumption data, which was measured during the driving of the railway vehicles in the Gyeongui Line. In conclusion, the electrical power simulation program for a propulsion system was validated throughout a comparative investigation between the simulated values and the experimental values and the energy consumption characteristics of electric railway vehicles on the existing route or the new route will be possible to predict throughout the virtual simulation considering the driving conditions of the electric railway vehicles.

  • Overhead transmission line design supporting program using high spatial resolution satellite imagery has been developed recently by Korea Power Engineering Company, The developed program, ITSS(Interactive Tower Spotting System) is purposed to improve the application of satellite imagery with the route selection of overhead transmission line. It is composed of spotting the tower position and designing the tower type and height with DEM(Digital Elevation Model) overlaid with satellite Imagery. To review and confirm the function and work efficiency, ITSS was applied to the pilot project of overhead transmission line design.

Development of Cutting Route Recognition Technology of a Double-Blade Road Cutter Using a Vision Sensor (비전센서를 활용한 양날 도로절단기의 절단경로 인식 기술 개발)

  • With the recent trend of intelligence and automation of construction work, a double-blade road cutter is being developed that automatically enables cutting along the cutting line marked on the road using a vision system. The road cutter can recognize the cutting line through the camera and correct the driving route in real-time, and it detects the load of the cutting blade in real-time to control the driving speed in case of overload to protect workers and cutting blades. In this study, a vision system mounted on a double-blade road cutter was developed. A cutting route recognition technology was developed to stably recognize cutting lines displayed on non-uniform road surfaces, and performance was verified in similar environments. In addition, a vision sensor protection module was developed to prevent foreign substances (dust, water, etc.) generated during cutting from being attached to the camera.
