In order to convert the mechanical movement of a linear generator to electrical power, the amateur current of the generator is controlled in accordance to the mover position. A linear encoder, usually used for direct detection of the mover position, not only is vulnerable to mechanical vibration, but also imposes significant constraint on the mechanical design of the generator system. Thus, this study proposes a method for indirect estimation of the mover position with emfs induced in amateur coils. The estimation algorithm is validated with simulation study.
This paper presents a optimal Var allocation algorithm for minimizing power loss and improving voltage profile in a given system. In this paper, nodal input data is considered as Gaussian distribution with their mean value and their variance. A stochastic Linear Programming technique based on chance constrained method is applied to solve the probabilistic constraint. The test result in IEEE-14 Bus model system showes that the voltage distribution of load buses is improved and the power loss is more reduced than before Var allocation.
In an automated power distribution systems, the fault situation is controlled from the control center through remotely-controlled sectionalizing switches. In this paper, the service restoration strategy which can yield the minimal switching actions and constraint checking is proposed and an expert system which generates the appropriate switching actions is described.
The fundamental aim of this paper is to present a solution algorithm to achieve cooperative contour controlling, under joint acceleration constraint with maximum cooperative speed. Usually, the specifications like maximum velocity of cooperative trajectory are determined by the application itself. In resolving the cooperative trajectory into two complementary trajectories, an optimum task resolving strategy is employed so that the task assignment for each robot is fair under the joint acceleration constraint. The proposed algorithm of being an off-line technique, this could be effectively and conveniently extended to the existing servo control systems irrespective of the computational power of the controller implemented. Further, neither a change in hardware setup nor considerable reconfiguration of the existing system is required in adopting this technique. A simulation study has been carried out to verify that the proposed method can be realized in the generation of complementary trajectories so that they could meet the stipulated constraints in simultaneous maneuvering.

The performance of evolutionary algorithms can be seriously weakened when constraints limit the feasible region of the search space. In this paper we present a constrained multi-objective optimization algorithm based on adaptive ε-truncation (ε-T-CMOA) to further improve distribution and convergence of the obtained solutions. First of all, as a novel constraint handling technique, ε-truncation technique keeps an effective balance between feasible solutions and infeasible solutions by permitting some excellent infeasible solutions with good objective value and low constraint violation to take part in the evolution, so diversity is improved, and convergence is also coordinated. Next, an exponential variation is introduced after differential mutation and crossover to boost the local exploitation ability. At last, the improved crowding density method only selects some Pareto solutions and near solutions to join in calculation, thus it can evaluate the distribution more accurately. The comparative results with other state-of-the-art algorithms show that ε-T-CMOA is more diverse than the other algorithms and it gains better in terms of convergence in some extent.

Standard procedures for a fracture toughness testing require very severe restrictions for the specimen geometry to eliminate a size effect on the measured properties. Therefore, the used standard fracture toughness data results in the integrity assessment being irrationally conservative. However, a realistic fracture in general structures, such as in nuclear power plants, may develop under the low constraint condition of a large scale yielding with a shallow surface crack. In this paper, cleavage fracture toughness tests have been made on side-grooved PCVN (precracked charpy V-notch) type specimens (10 by 10 by 55 mm) with various crack depths. The constraint effects on the crack depth ratios were evaluated quantitatively by the developed scaling method using the 3-D finite element method. After the fracture toughness correction from scaling model, the statistical size effects were also corrected according to the standard ASTM E 1921 procedure. The results were evaluated through a comparison with the $T_0$ of the standard CT specimen. The corrected $T_0$ for all of the PCVN specimens showed a good agreement to within $5.4^{\circ}C$ regardless of the crack depth, while the averaged PCVN $T_0$ was $13.4^{\circ}C$ higher than the real CT test results.

Distributed multi-hop relay scheme to reduce delay-constrained outage probability for broadcast network is proposed. We consider multi-hop relay scheme, which is similar to distributed beamforming, where multiple nodes simultaneously relay packets, and we propose channel access control and power control for relaying nodes to satisfy energy constraint. Compared with flooding which is multi-hop relay scheme used for ZigBee, the proposed scheme is better in terms of outage probability and average reception throughput.

A framework proposed in this paper includes representations of multi-objectives rule-basd constraint satisfaction problem(RCSP) and especially, flexible structure of RCSP which provides adequate solution sithin an expectation time and adaptively considers some change of constratraints on the RCSP. In this study, the power system implemented by above framework is entirely programmed by using a modeling system for the quantitative model and a rule-based constraint programming tool for the qualitative model. The results of an exemplary cse show how the structure that involves the problem representation gives the scheduler an effective decision and what are the advantages of the easy and diverse representation for considering the techmical characteristics of the units on the RCSP over the traditional problem.
This paper proposes a fast distributed constrained power control (FDCPC) with non-stationary relaxation factor to next power update in CDMA cellular power control system. We review unconstrained control algorithms, the distributed power control (DPC), unconstrained second order power control (USOPC) and DPC with stationary relaxation factor (DPCSRF). Under the unconstrained condition, the convergence analysis shows theoretically that the convergence rate of DPC is the fastest one. However, under the constrained control algorithms, DCPC is not the fastest one any more because of transmission power constraint. To improve the convergence speed, the DCPC with non-stationary relaxation factor (FDCPC) are proposed. Under the constrained condition, the convergence rate of FDCPC outperforms that of DCPC and CSOPC.

The load frequency control of power system is one of important subjects in view of system operation and control. To converge within allowance load variation value the frequency and tie-line power flow deviation of each areas, we should regulate the active power output of power plant for regulation in system Applying the NFC(Neuro-Fuzzy Controller) to the model of load frequency control of 2-area power system, we prove that the control is superior to the conventional control technique through computer simulation. For verification of robustness, when we consider generator-rate constraint similar to nonlinearities of power system.
