  • When rubber dissolved in toluene was used as a binding material of graphite powder, the mechanical robustness of the carbon paste was guaranteed by the fast volatility of the solvent immediately after electrode construction. This characteristic of the rubber solution met qualifications for practical use of carbon paste electrodes and enabled the design of a new enzyme electrode bound with EPDM. In order to confirm whether the electrode shows quantitative electrochemical behaviors or not, its kinetic parameters, e. g. the symmetry factor (0.2), the exchange current density ($3.66\;{\mu}A/cm^2$), the capacity of the double layer ($2.0{\times}10^{-5}\;F$), the Michaelis constant ($4.39{\times}10^{-3}\;M$), the diffusion coefficient of substrate ($2.58{\times}10^{-12}\;cm^2/sec$), the time constant (0.018 sec) and other factors were investigated.

  • A study of the pack cemcented SiC coating on graphite was performed and the process conditions were evaluated by means of experimental design. The content of Si, P2O5, B and Al2O3 reaction temperature, reaction time and acid treatment wast tested as the experimental variables. The results were analyzed and compared by the characteristic value of 10% weight loss by oxidation. The acid treatment exhibited the most effective anti-oxidation property and the optimum conditions were the powder composition of 20% Si, 3% B and 77% SiC, the reaction temperature of 1550$^{\circ}C$ for 7 hours with phosphoric acid treatment. The pack coating performed under this condition improved the 10% weight loss oxidation temperature by 514$^{\circ}C$ compared to the bare graphite.

  • In the automobile industry, the various efforts to lower their industrial cost and enhance fuel efficiency have been made through process improvement or weight saving of automobile parts. Gear is one of significant parts of transmission, which is made by cast iron or alloy steel. It is expensive due to complex processing, inferior materials and large machining allowance. In this study, alternative gear cars oil which is based on fluid applications materials is produced by reducing surface induction hardening and carburizing hardened in production. And then, wear characteristic and mechanical properties such as hardness of the sintered alloy which is used as a substitute for small machining allowance is investigated.

  • A turbo classifier having a rotating rotor of two stage classification region has been developed to have a cut size of 1 micro meter. Particle number concentrations were counted using Aerosol Particle Sizer (APS, TSI co., USA) at inlet and outlet of the classifier. Partial classification efficiency was obtained at various rotation speeds, total flow rates, and feed rates of powders, and classification characteristic depending on design parameters was discussed. Classification performance was enhanced as rotation speed of rotor increased and total flow rate decreased.

  • Oyster shell is produce by shucking process in oyster farming in southern coast of Korea. In average, about 6.7kg of oyster shell is produced as an industrial waste for 1kg of oyster flesh, and even only in last year, it is estimated that about 150,000ton of oyster shell is produced. Oyster shell is light weighted and the strength characteristic of it is similar to send. We produced mortar test piece using grounded oyster shell powder according to Filler and Fiber. So I wanted to measure the strength and use it as a baseline for follow-up studies.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the sintering behavior, crystallization characteristic of glass-ceramic and optimal sintering condition on the glass/ceramic composite for fabricating substrate of LTCC. Glass/ceramic composite was made from alumina powder and glass frit, which was composed of SiO2-TiO2-RO-PbO/(R: Ba, Sr, Ca), and was sintered for 0, 30, 60minutes in the temperature range from 700$^{\circ}C$ to 1000$^{\circ}C$. Properties of frit and glass/ceramic compsoite were analyzed by DTA, XRD, SEM and Network Analyzer and so on. Main sintering mechanism was densification occurred above 730$^{\circ}C$ by viscous flow and crystallization starting about 780$^{\circ}C$ affected sintering also. So viscous flow was affected by sintering temperature, duration time, and creation of crystallization phase etc. From this study, it was possible to fabricate glass/ceramic composite by changing sintering temperature and duration time.

  • Liquid-phase catalytic degradation of waste high-density polyethylene (HDPE) over ZSM-5 (powder type (PW)) and ZSM-5+binder (granule type (GR)) has been investigated with a stirred semi-batch operation at 400°C. Two ZSM-5 catalysts with a different crystal size were synthesized and also each ZSM-5 (25%) Catalyst was mixed with a same binder (kaolin: silica sol: alumina = 55%:10%:10%). The performance of prepared catalysts that has different physicochemical properties was discussed with the cumulative amount distribution, molecular weight distribution and also paraffin, olefin, naphthene and aromatic (PONA) distribution in liquid product. These liquid product quality and distributions were changed depending on the physicochemical properties of the catalyst. Moreover, the characteristic of ZSM-5 in the catalyst was strongly influenced on the activity and PONA distribution in liquid product.

  • Cerium doped anatase titania powders were prepared by sol-gel process, with ammonium (IV) nitrate and Titanium (IV) butoxide as the raw materials. The characteristics of anatase $TiO_2$ and cerium doped $TiO_2$ were investigated by XRD, DTA, FE-SEM and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Research results indicated that XRD data characteristic diffraction peaks of anatase phase and also showed that cerium phase was not observed. Moreover XRD and DTA results imply that the addition of cerium to titania modifies the mechanism of formation of the titania phases.

  • This research focuses on the physicochemical characteristic of fermentation of Aloe Saponaria. The fermentation process applied in this study had 2 variation, depends on the aloe part as the materials (bottom, middle, and tip) and the initial sugar content (24% and 0%) used. Tests are conducted using uinkin fermented powder, sugar, salt, and distilled water as fermenting agent. The results indicate that change in physicochemical properties of aloe's skin was larger than in aloe's gel as fermentation materials. In contrast, there was no significant change in aloe's leaf during the process. A lso, aloes with intial sugar condition of 24% show better results than which without sugar addition in fermentation.

  • In this study, the carbonation characteristics of concrete according to the mixture of OLED waste glass were evaluated. Replacement capacities of OLED waste glass were 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% of cement, and they were named OG 0, OG 10, OG 20, and OG 30. As a result of the compressive strength test, OG 0 without replacing OLED waste glass showed high intensity until the 14th. However, the higher the replacement rate of OLED waste glass, the higher the compressive strength of 28 days. In addition, the speed of carbonation was faster with the higher the replacement rate of OLED waste glass, and the accelerated carbonation experiment was about three times faster than the natural carbonation test. In conclusion, the carbonation characteristics of OLED concrete are expected to be positive in terms of atmospheric CO2 absorption.
