In this study, the surface properties of PET film were analyzed after plasma surface treatment. After plasma treatment of surface roughness and XPS were evaluated to analyze the chemical property, while the surface potential decay and surface resistance rate was measured to analyze the electric관 characteristic. When plasma discharge treatment was conducted for less than 10 minutes, the electrical insulating property was improved by evaporation of low molecular weight materials and cleaning of surface. However, when the treatment was conducted for more than 10 minutes, the insulating property was decreased due to excessive discharge energy. Analyses of chemical characteristics showed that 10-minute treatment resulted in increase of C-O and O=C-O bonds. However, when treated for more than 10 minutes. they were relatively decreased.
This paper describes the use of spatial interpolation for estimating seasonal crop potential evapotranspiration (PET) and irrigation water requirement in unmeasured evaporation gage stations within Edwards Aquifer, Texas using GIS. The Edwards Aquifer area has insufficient data with short observed records and rare gage stations, then, the investigation of data for determining of irrigation water requirement is difficult. This research shows that spatial interpolation techniques can be used for creating more accurate PET data in unmeasured region, because PET data are important parameter to estimate irrigation water requirement. Recently, many researchers are investigating intensively these techniques based upon mathematical and statistical theories. Especially, three techniques have well been used: Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW), spline, and kriging (simple, ordinary and universal). In conclusion, the result of this study (Table 1) shows the kriging interpolation technique is found to be the best method for prediction of unmeasured PET in Edwards aquifer, Texas.

This paper presents ion-based micro vibration sensor for the ultra-high frequency vibration detection. Presented sensor uses the motion of anion and cation in an electrolyte. Electrolyte vibration sensors have the high shock survival characteristics and a simple read-out circuit because of the small mass and own charges of ions. Presented sensor measures the induced electric potential by the mechanical-electrical coupling. It consist of electrolyte chamber and detection electrode. Electrolyte chamber was fabricated by PDMS molding. Detection electrode was made of gold evaporation on pyrex glass. Size of electrolyte chamber was designed as $600{\times}600{\times}100um$. Detection electrode had 200nm-thick and 42um-gap. In the experimental study, 5.8M sodium Chloride (NaCl) solution was used as electrolyte in 36nl-chamber. Mechanical vibration was measured from 2kHz to 4MHz.
We have developed a nanoparticle focusing mask which can generate particle arrays directly on the large area with high resolution. Using this mask, nanomaterials are precisely deposited onto desired positions on a substrate surface. We obtained various sizes of arrays ranging from 80 nm to 6 ${\mu}m$ with silver and copper nanoparticles that are generated by a spark discharge and an evaporation-condensation method. The feather size is much smaller than that of mask openings due to the focusing effects, like electrostatic lens, caused by charge or electric potential on insulator mask surface, which also prevent a mask clogging. The particle array size depends on the size of mask open patterns and focusing effects near the mask relate to ion flow rate and electric potential. We have demonstrated that diverse size of arrays with high resolution could be obtained repeatedly using the same sized mask in atmosphere.
In this study the electrical and mechanical characteristics of PET films ore analyzed after plasma surface treatment. After plasma treatment, the surface potential decay, surface potential and dielectric property were evaluated to analyze the electrical insulating property, and the tensile strength was measured as the mechanical characteristic. When plasma treatment was conducted for less than 10 minutes, it was found that the electrical insulating property was improved through evaporation of low molecular weight materials md cleaning of surface. However, for more than 10 minutes, the insulating property of plasma treated PET films was decreased due to excessive discharge energy. The tensile strength was hardly changed by Plasma treatment.
The response of water stree under high and low temperatures, was shown differently according to the longer the suspension period of water supply. Leaf photosynthetic rate(LPS), leaf water potential(WP), relative leaf water content and relative soil water content were lower. At the higher temperatures, the percentate of reduction in LPS and WP was greater than at low temperatures. It is suggested that evaporation rate should be higher in the high temperature than the lower temperature. Also leaf water potential was lower at high temperature than at low temperature. After the 9 th day of treatment , LSP was remarkably reduced at high temperature, but the reduction of LPS was not significant at low temperature. Solidago virga-aurea var. asiatic that maintained LPS of 3rd day after treatment was more strong than other varieties at low temperatures. The silting and curling of leaves were observed symptoms of stress on the 9th day at the both temperatures. The leaves of aster scaber and Ligularia fischeri turned red on the 9th day after treatment at low temperature.
This study proposes a novel rotary direct evaporative cooler and investigates the potential of a moisture-wicking fabric as a cooling pad for the proposed evaporative cooler. The rotary direct evaporative cooler rotates the cooling pad to reduce the water and energy consumption of the pump compared to those of existing direct evaporative coolers. A moisture-wicking fabric is considered as the material of the cooling pad, because of its high moisture-wicking property, enhancing water evaporation. Experiments are performed under various inlet air conditions while measuring the air temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, and differential pressure. The evaporative cooling efficiency and impacts of the inlet air temperature and air velocity on the cooling performance are also evaluated. The results demonstrate the potential of the moisture-wicking fabric as cooling pad of direct evaporative cooler.
The influence of venting on the leaching characteristics of pure gasoline and gasoline contaminated soil was studied. The change of leaching characteristics by venting of contaminated soil column could be characterized by two distinct trends : 1) the leaching concentration in TPH-GRO rapidly decreased with evaporation until the evaporation loss became 75% of the original volume. Afterwards, it gradually decreased. 2) the leaching concentrations of individual components showed initial increase followed by gradual decrease. In general, the relative increase of leaching concentration and the venting time to reach the maximum increased with the molecular weight of the components. It should be noted that the decrease of gasoline concentration in the vented air occurs faster than that in the leaching solution. This indicates that, after removing most of the gasoline by evaporation, the focus of the risk assessment for the residual contaminants should be on the groundwater contamination rather than air pollution.
The rosiglitazone loaded poly (lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by the emulsion-evaporation method and optimized for particle size and entrapment efficiency. The optimized particles were 140-180 nm in size with narrow size distribution and 80% entrapment efficiency at 1% w/w initial drug loading when prepared with 1-3% w/v of PVA as a surfactant. These particulate carriers exhibited controlled in vitro release of rosiglitazone for 36 hrs at a nearly constant rate after 4 hrs release. In conclusion, these results indicate that PLGA NPs have greater potential for oral delivery of rosiglitazone.

With the steady increase in the demand for flexible devices, mainly in display panels, researchers have focused on finding a novel material that have excellent electrical properties even when it is bended or stretched, along with superior mechanical and thermal properties. Graphene, a single-layered two-dimensional carbon lattice, has recently attracted tremendous research interest in this respect. However, the limitations in the growing method of graphene, mainly chemical vapor deposition on transition metal catalysts, has posed severe problems in terms of device integration, due to the laborious transfer process that may damage and contaminate the graphene layer. In addition, to lower the overall cost, a fabrication technique that supports low temperature and low vacuum is required, which is the main reason why solution-based process for graphene layer deposition has become the hot issue. Nonetheless, a direct deposition method of large area, few-layered, and uniform graphene layers has not been reported yet, along with a convenient method of patterning them. Here, we report an evaporation-induced technique for directly depositing few layers of graphene nanosheets with excellent uniformity and thickness controllability on any substrate. The printed graphene nanosheets can be patterned into desired shapes and structures, which can be directly applicable as flexible and transparent electrode. To illustrate such potential, the transport properties and resistivity of the deposited graphene layers have been investigated according to their thickness. The induced internal flow of the graphene solution during tis evaporation allows uniform deposition with which its thickness, and thus resistivity can be tuned by controlling the composition ratio of the solute and solvent.
