Service Design for Healthcare Quality Improvement: An Implementation Approach for Enhancing Patient Experience (의료 질 향상을 위한 서비스디자인: 환자경험 증진을 위한 실행 접근법)

  • Purpose:This study aims to suggest the future direction for applying service design to improve the quality of healthcare as part of hospital service innovation and present implementation plans in Korea, based on a review of quality improvement activities and the current status of service design applications. Methods: Through a literature review, we examined the status of service design introduction and application in the healthcare field, focusing on cases in the US and Europe. The possibility and limitations of service design in the healthcare field were examined through a comparison of oversea and domestic cases. Results: Recently, service design has begun to be applied to the healthcare field worldwide. Service design shows the possibility of an alternative that alleviates and complements the limitations of existing quality improvement activities. It also offers the possibility of creating new organizational improvement and innovation approaches through integration and convergence with existing quality improvement activities and management innovation. Conclusion: To effectively apply service design to hospitals, it is necessary to integrate internal organizations related to service improvement, combine methods, and objectively measure and evaluate performance. To this end, we propose the operation of a nationwide education and training center for quality improvement and service design led by academic society. Service design will provide an opportunity to change the management innovation and organizational culture of hospitals beyond the scope of the current quality improvement, which deals only with micro-subjects of individual hospitals.

  • When highly compressible, clayey soil layers lies at a limited depth and large consolidtion settlements are expected as the result of construction, precompression of soil may be used to minimize postconstruction settlement. In this study, we tried to find the possibility about the effect of ground improvement using flat dilatometer at the Inchon International Airport where preloading was installed. Field and laboratory tests were performed for soft ground before and after preloading in order to check the effectiveness of the soft ground improvement and compared with the test results of dilatometer which obtained before and after preloading at the same location Field tests such as flat dilatometer, vane, CPTu tests were performed before and after preloading and undisturbed samples are obtained to carry out laboratory tests. As comparing results, after preloading, unit weight, effective stress, undrained shear strength were increased and we can also check the decrease of consolidation late caused of decrease of void ratio.   • Because 6sigma is doing innovative success In management whole, estimate that can exert direct effect in interior Design management. Therefore, this study did by purpose that 6sigma that is scientific method that do customers satisfaction by ultimate purpose acts as basic study that can heighten practical use Possibility and result of interior Design management and value by interior design standardization process. Need to use marketing data that is scientific design component at schematic design step for successful interior design that can improve result. Hereupon, this study is doing to big dimension that utilizes 6sigma and makes standard process of only Interior Design, and did to dimension that present study phase verifies if '6sigma' is practical use possibility by intoner design process. Did by method that verification method of 6sigma practical use possibility analyzes "Information transmission efficiency improvement of department store display space" 6sigma project example. When see that example project is analyzed on Improvement constituent that "Design improvement" out of Vital few Xs of statistical analysis item must heighten the customers satisfaction rate conclusively, target process might be established because design becomes center of gravity if did design improvement very first time. Finally, possibility that 6sigma can utilize in process of interior design is verified, and it is scientific methodology that can utilize to all business members that there are not any special category of business even if is in practical use. Such scientific 6sigma method need persistent study that make standard process analyzing a lot of problems that is expected to be beaconed and happens substantially in here after to management development of interior design.

  • The vehicle's light-weight technology is divided into optimization of structure geometric and material. Structure geometric optimization and improvement of materials has examined to be power-train and maintenance on the severe condition. The core technology of Special vehicle's light-weight is constitute by Drop box, Axle and Final reduction gear. Technology and product of the parts is high to overseas and import dependency. We will want to examine the possibility of light-weight for the Axle Case and Drop box-connections. In this research, conventional design of excess weight will inhibit the mobility and fuel efficiency. Through the improvement of Axle material, we saw the possibility reducing weight. If you use the results of these studies, it will be available to domestic production technology and reducing weight of RV car, Dump truck, Track crain, etc.

A Study on the Inducement of Private Investment to the Rural Village Improvement (민간자본에 의한 농어촌 마을정비 방안 모색)

  • In Korea, rural village improvement has mainly been led by goverment investment. This approach, however, has its own limit since there are so many village to be improved while the budgetary sources are restricted, As an alternative, inducement of private investments to these area is considered in order to promote rural village improvement. The possibility of inducing private investments to the rural village improvement depends on the location of the village. The possibility may be highest in the sub-urban area since expected benefits from land development is usually high. One desirable approach to induce private investment to these area is the cooperative development system. Residents, private investors and governments plays its own role, independently and cooperatively, But benifits from the investment to improve rural village in general plain area are so low that it is difficult to induce the private investments to these area. In that case, indirect development system will be a proper strategy which maintaining government-led development method as usual, expanding the participation of private developers such as the construction companies. In general, rate of returns from investment to the rural sectors is lower than that to the other sectors, therefore financial support such as the long- term, low loan rate and a partial value-added tax exemption should be given to the investors to the rural village improvement projects.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest that dwelling site planning of residential improvement district is to make in the point of sustainable improvement. The methods of this study are as follow, first, introduce the concept of sustainable improvement and research possibility of adaption of the concept. second, make a survey of the Nanminchon II District in Jeonju as a sample of residential improvement district and make a comparative study of the before and after the development. third, research adaptable elements of sustainable residence concept to Nanminchon II District to dwelling site planning. Progress and result of residential improvement district affects dweller to character of place and habitation and will gain summits of architecture.

  • Our life totally depends on activated sludgeprocess for treatment of wastewater: sewage and industrial wastewater. Activated sludge process was the epoch-making technology in Environmental field. One century has been almost passed since the process was developed in England, and the process is still on the development of improvement. Here, history of activated sludge process, its mechanismsof treating the wastewater, expectations that we had on the process in the past, and future image and possibility on the process were presented. By reviewing the events related to the process, we can foresee potentials for new possibility of activated sludge process.

  • This paper proposes a novel scheme for cooperative spectrum sensing on distributed cognitive radio networks. A fuzzy logic rule - based inference system is proposed to estimate the presence possibility of the licensed user's signal based on the observed energy at each cognitive radio terminal. The estimated results are aggregated to make the final sensing decision at the fusion center. Simulation results show that significant improvement of the spectrum sensing accuracy is achieved by our schemes.

  • Si TFTs are applied not only to stacked SRAM but also to FPD. Improvement of device characteristic such as an enhancement of carrier mobility or a reduction of leakage current is studied intensively. The TFT technology is developing based on conventional Si LSI technology. By establishing a stable fabrication process on flexible substrate and high performance characteristic uniformly and reliably, TFT technology has a possibility to develop to SOP or other highly functional applications similar to or beyond the conventional Si LSI in the era of information and telecommunication.

Coffee Shops' Quality Classification and Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index by KANO Model (KANO모델을 활용한 커피전문점의 품질분류와 고객만족개선지수)

  • This study classified the various quality features of coffee shop by Kano model with customers' perspective. Also both satisfaction coefficient and dissatisfaction coefficient are calculated to analyse the relative influence of quality features on customer satisfaction. This study also dragged the potential customer satisfaction improvement index to scrutinize the quality improvement possibility for coffee shops. The analysis results showed that low price, luxurious interior, restfulness of table and chair, usability of wireless internet are belonged to the Attractive quality. On the other hand, cleanliness and hygiene, quality to price are identified as the One-dimensional quality. The current satisfaction level for both 'Caffe Bene' and 'Starbucks' are measured to draw the potential customer satisfaction improvement index. The result showed that low price and quality to price appeared to be the highest in its quality improvement possibility. The findings of this study help understanding the quality features to focus on and strengthening the competitiveness for coffee shops.
