Purpose: This study investigates the relationship between service compensation, consumer sentiment and revisit intention for service recovery in the Chinese foodservice industry, and the moderating effect of employee authenticity. Methods: Data were collected from people who experienced eating out in a city located in central China, and the hypothesis was verified through multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The results indicate that the specificity of compensation affects both positive and negative emotions of customers, and the activeness of compensation also influences positive emotions of customers. Also, employee autheticity moderates the effect of specificity of compensation on customers' positive emotions. Both positive and negative emotions of customers influences revisit intention. Conclusion: These results show that the role of service compensation is important in service recovery in the rapidly expanding Chinese foodservice industry. In addition, since the sincerity of employees plays an important role in maximizing the recovery effect in the process of service recovery, it suggests that it is important not only to improve services in the quantitative aspect but also in the qualitative aspect through employee training.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the emotional characteristics of the Sasang constitution with the Core Seven Emotions Inventory (CSEI) and Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI). Methods: A total of 224 participants were assessed with a Sasang Constitutional Analysis Tool (SCAT) for Sasang Constitution Diagnosis, and completed the Core Seven Emotions Inventory (CSEI) and Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI). Results: 1. From the results of the CSEI, Soeumin showed a significantly higher fear (恐) score than the Soyangin. 2. From the results of the TCI, Soeumin showed a significantly higher harm avoidance (HA) score than Taeeumin and Soyangin. Moreover, the Soyangin showed a significantly higher reward dependence (RD) score than Taeeumin and Soeumin. 3. In the correlation tests of the CSEI sub-scales, there was negative correlation between joy (喜) and other emotions, which are thoughts (思), depression (憂), sorrow (悲) and fear (恐). There were positive correlations between the emotions except joy (喜). 4. In the correlation tests of the TCI sub-scales, there was negative correlation between HA and persistence (P), and HA and SD. Moreover, there was a positive correlation between RD and cooperativeness (C) and between P and self-directedness (SD). 5. In the correlation tests of the TCI and CSEI, joy (喜) showed a negative correlation with HA and a positive correlation with P and with SD. Anger (怒) showed a negative correlation with C and other emotions except joy (喜) showed a negative correlation with RD. Conclusions: The differences of psychological characteristics in Sasang Constitution were shown with CSEI and TCI from this study.
The purpose of this study was to investigate compensatory consumption propensity by male and female college students. The subjects of the study were 483 college students in Seoul, and SPSS 12.0 was used for statistical analysis. Two different types of compensatory consumption were considered separately positive compensatory consumption and negative compensatory consumption. The major findings were as follows. First, for male college students, drinking was the most preferable means of compensatory consumption to compensate for both negative and positive emotions. For female college students, their consumption patterns tended to include clothing purchase and eating-out for positive emotions and eating-out, reading and drinking for compensating negative emotions. Second, for both male and female students, the consumption propensity for compensating positive emotion was found to be higher than that for compensating negative emotion. And the consumption propensities for compensating positive and negative emotions were higher for female students when compared to those of male students. According to the results of regression analysis showing the relative effect of each variable to compensatory consumption, sex and consumption tendency were found to be relative variables on both positive and negative compensatory consumptions. Female students were found to be more likely to consume for compensating emotion than male students after other variables were controlled. For positive compensatory consumption, consumption propensity and materialism were found to be the most effective variables, and for negative compensatory consumption, materialism was the most effective variable.
Despite the growing importance of video-based social media content, such as vlogs, as a marketing tool in the travel industry, there is limited research on the characteristics that enhance engagement among potential travelers. This study explores the influence of emotional valence in YouTube travel content on viewer engagement, specifically likes and comments. We analyzed 4,619 travel-related YouTube videos from eight popular tourist cities. Using negative binomial regression analysis, we found that both positive and negative emotions significantly influence the number of likes received. Videos with higher positive emotions as well as negative emotions receive more likes. However, when it comes to the number of comments, only negative emotions showed a significant positive influence, while positive emotions had no significant impact. These findings offer valuable insights for marketers seeking to optimize engagement strategies on YouTube, considering the unique nature of travel products. Further research into the effects of specific emotions on engagement is warranted to improve marketing strategies. This study highlights the powerful impact of emotions on viewer engagement in the context of social media, particularly on YouTube.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Internet shopping interests on the casual relationships among Internet shopping mall attributes, emotions, and impulse buying behavior. Data were obtained from 414 internet shoppers who had bought fashion products in internet shopping mall. The result showed that the highly interested Internet shoppers, when perceived the product attributes of Internet shopping mall, were more likely to feel positive emotions, and then were more likely to buy fashion products impulsively in Internet shopping. The less perceived the convenience of checkout & trust in Internet, the more negative emotions they had. However, the less interested Internet shoppers were more likely to buy impulsively fashion products with positive emotions when they perceived various product assortments, and were negatively influenced by the high speed of loading and promotions of Internet shopping mall. The findings provide implications of impulse buying behavior in Internet shopping malls for fashion products.

In-store atmospherics involve quantified physical and social aspects; however, the social quality of a web-based retailing context has largely been under-examined. This study addressed some antecedents and consequences of social ambience in virtual shopping (or e-social ambience) within a web-based U.S. retailing fashion context. This study explored the role of social cues as a viable antecedent to e-social ambience and emotions as its consequence. A conceptual framework was built postulating the effect of social cue for web content, on e-social ambience, emotions, and e-shopping enjoyment. The experimental results (n=488) on a fictitious retail T-shirt website confirmed the positive correlation among the variables; in addition, the level of social cues included within the web content significantly increased the level of customer-perceived e-social ambience of the website and subsequent positive on-site emotions. On-site emotions positively influence purchase intentions. The results expand the current understanding of e-store management by providing novel insight relevant to fashion companies that wish to provide customers with a quality website shopping experience.
This study is to verify the influence of salesperson's nonverbal communication on consumer emotions, and service quality in fashion shopping. This study sample is limited to Busan and Kyungnam Province's fashion shopping consumers. The responders included 239. Data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, and AMOS. As the results, kinesics, proxemics, paralanguage, and physical appearance are a major influence on positive consumer emotions that influence service quality. Kinesics and proxemics are a major influence on negative consumer emotions; however, paralanguage, and physical appearance are not a major determinant to influence negative consumer emotions; in addition, there is a direct link between negative consumer emotions and service quality. Also, consumer emotions mediated the relationship between nonverbal communication and service quality. Therefore, fashion firms should train employee manners to ensure that nonverbal communication is important in service encounters.
Purpose: Service quality is a topic of constant interest in marketing research and practitioners. Service quality is an important factor influencing performance even in the context of coffee shops, and research on service quality management strategies continues by coffee shop researchers and practitioners. The service quality of coffee shops is a source of competitive advantage and is an important factor in enhancing customer and business performance. This study aims to identify the effects of cognitive evaluation on emotional and behavioral responses using a cognitive-emotional-behavioral framework and SOR model in the coffee shop context. Cognitive evaluation (service quality) consists of tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, reliability, and empathy dimensions. Research design, data, and methodology: In the proposed model, positive and negative emotions and satisfaction mediate the relationship between service quality and money to spend and visit frequency. The data were collected from customers who visited a coffee shop within the last 1 month. The survey was conducted for about one month. Among a total of 300 distributed questionnaires 261 responses were used for data analysis. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, measurement model analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis with SPSS 28.0 and SmartPLS 4.0. Results: Tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy had significant positive effects on positive emotion, while only reliability had a significant negative effect on negative emotion. Both positive and negative emotions had significant positive effects on customer satisfaction, but not on money to spend and visit frequency. Lastly, customer satisfaction had significant positive effects on money to spend and visit frequency. Conclusions: The study revealed the relative weight of cognitive factors on customer emotions and confirmed the validity of SOR model. The fact that tangibility is the most important factor in increasing positive emotions and reliability is the most important factor in reducing negative emotions provides a direction for emotional branding strategies using the service quality mix of coffee shops. This study confirmed the full mediating role of satisfaction between positive and negative emotions and consumer behaviors (money to spend and visit frequency). This infers that when a coffee shop increases customer satisfaction through customer emotion management, the customer's money to spend and visit frequency in the coffee shop increases.
Body movements of humans have emotions and these movements have meanings of 'Living Spirits' and 'Emotions'. Also emotions of humans indicate all body movements which are made within the environment. This study aims at providing new potentials to emotional design research methods not only by understanding the characteristics of visual perception according to body movements and but by investigating correlations between sequence which arise by the visual perception and emotions through experiments. As for the scope and method of this study, the emotional space designs were analyzed through the emotional theory study, SD method was used to evaluate emotions and the movements in the modern village and traditional village with similar elements were compared and analyzed for the empirical study. As a result, first it was confirmed waling hours in the traditional village took more than the modern village and it is thought movements of humans are affected by the visual environments. Second, it was confirmed values of the emotional evaluation were higher in the traditional village than the modern village. Third, according to a result of the correlation analysis between space sequence and emotions, it was closed with negative emotions such as 'Closed', and 'Complicated' from positive emotional words such as 'Natural'. 'Open', 'Curious', etc. as spaces are experienced more through movements in the modern village. On the contrary, the emotional intensity of the positive words such as 'In Harmony', 'Beautiful' and 'Warn' through movements in the traditional village increased as spaces were experienced more. As a result of this study, it was confirmed the time, space and emotions have correlations each other.
