Implementation of GPS Spoofing Test Environment using Multiple GPS Simulators

  • A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), which is typically exemplified by the Global Positioning System (GPS), employs a open signal structure so it is vulnerable to spoofing electronic attack using a similar malicious signal with that used in the GPS. It is necessary to require a spoofing test evaluation environment to check the risk of spoofing attack and evaluate the performance of a newly developed anti-spoofing technique against spoofing attacks. The present paper proposed a simulation method of spoofing environment based on simulator that can be implementable in a test room and analyzed the spoofing simulation performance using commercial GPS receivers. The implemented spoofing simulation system ran synchronized two GPS simulator modules in a single scenario to generate both of spoofing and GPS signals simultaneously. Because the signals are generated in radio frequency, a commercial GPS receiver can be tested using this system. Experimental test shows the availability of this system, and anti-spoofing performance of a commercial GPS receiver has been analyzed.

유전 알고리즘을 이용한 유압 위치계의 PID 제어기 동조 (Tuning of PID Controller for Hydraulic Positioning System Using Genetic Algorithm)

  • This study presents a simple genetic algorithm to systematically design a PID controller for a hydraulic positioning system operated by a proportional solenoid valve. The inverse dead-zone compensator with nonlinear characteristics is used to cancel out the dead-zone phenomenon in the hydraulic system. The object function considering overshoot, settling time, and control input is adopted to search for optimal PID gains. The designed PID controller is compared with the LQG/LTR controller to check the performance of the hydraulic positioning system in the time and frequency domains. The experimental results show that the hydraulic servo system with the proposed PID controller responds effectively to the various types of reference input.

척추방사선수술시 실시간 추적검사에 의한 병소목표점 위치변이 평가 (Evaluation of Real-time Target Positioning Accuracy in Spinal Radiosurgery)

  • 방사선수술은 고 용량의 방사선을 병소의 목표점에 정확하게 주위의 정상조직을 보호하면서 한 번에 혹은 수 차에 거쳐 전달하는 방법이므로 병소 국재에 대한 오차의 크기는 방사선수술에 직접적인 영향을 끼치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 영상유도 국재 장비인 ExacTrac (BrainLab, Germany)을 이용한 척추방사선수술에서 병소 목표점 국재의 오차를 평가하였다. 국재 오차를 최소화 하기위하여 방사선수술 전 '환자위치 확인장치(PPVT)'를 고안하여 부가적으로 사용하였다. 실시간 목표점오차 평가를 위하여 흉추에 전이된 종양에 대한 방사선수술 8례를 대상으로 평가하였다. 그 결과 isocenter 목표점 오차는 횡단면(lateral) 축 방향, 종단면(longitudinal) 축 방향, 수직면(vertical) 축 방향으로 각각 $0.07{\pm}0.17$ mm, $0.11{\pm}0.18$ mm, $0.13{\pm}0.26$ mm이었으며 평균 공간오차는 $0.20{\pm}0.37$ mm이었다. 병소 isocenter의 회전오차(body rotation)는 종단면(longitudinal) 축 방향 $0.14{\pm}0.07^{\circ}$, 횡단면(lateral) 축 방향 $0.11{\pm}0.07^{\circ}$, 환자테이블 각 이동 $0.03{\pm}0.04^{\circ}$로 평균오차는 $0.20{\pm}0.11^{\circ}$이었다. 본 연구결과 영상유도 국재방법을 이용한 척추방사선수술에서의 병소목표점 국재 평균오차는 임상적으로 허용할 수 있는 오차범위 이내 임을 확인하였다.

An Education Model of a Nano-Positioning System for Mechanical Engineers

  • The increasing use of nano-positioners in a wide variety of laboratory and industrial applications has created a need for nano-mechatronics education in all engineering disciplines. The subject of nano-mechatronics is broad and interdisciplinary. This article focuses on the way nano-mechatronics is taught in department of mechanical engineering at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). As one model of nano-positioning systems, design and experimental methodology is presented in this article. For design phase, the stiffness and resonant frequencies are found analytically and verified by using a commercial finite element analysis program. Next, for experimental phase, various tests are performed to access the performances of the designed nano-positioner, for example, sine-tracking, multi-step response and travel-range check etc. Finally, the definition of 'separation frequency' is described and some comments are discussed.

덤프의 이동경로 모니터링을 통한 생산성 분석 (Productivity Analysis on Real-time Path Monitoring of Dumps)

  • 본 연구에서는 GIS 기반의 오픈 Global Map을 이용하여 공사현장과 토취장의 위치를 확인하고, 덤프와 그레이더 등의 건설장비에 GPS(Global Positioning System)를 부착하여 장비의 실시간 위치, 속도, 고도, 방향등의 Data를 이용하여 실시간 모니터링을 진행하고, Data를 이용하여 생산성 분석을 진행하여 최적 장비 대수를 도출하고 시공단계에서 실시한 설계단가와 모니터링을 통한 장비 생산량으로 도출된 총 경비와 비교한 결과 총 경비 30%정도 적게 나오는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Design of Navigation Environment Generation Module of M&S Software for Integrated Navigation System Performance Evaluation

  • Various navigation systems are integrated with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) to improve navigation performance so that continuous navigation information can be obtained even when navigation performance is degraded or navigation is not available due to the outage of GNSS. Time and cost can be reduced by evaluating performance of the integrated navigation system through Modeling and Simulation (M&S) software prior to the deployment of the integrated navigation system. The measurements of the navigation system should be generated to evaluate performance through of the navigation system M&S software. This paper proposes a method of designing a navigation environment generation module in M&S software of the integrated navigation system. To show applicability of the proposed method to M&S software design of the integrated navigation system, functions are verified through MATLAB. And then visual C++ based M&S software for the integrated navigation system is implemented to check the operation of the navigation environment generation module. The reference trajectory is generated and true measurements of Global Positioning System (GPS), Korea Positioning System (KPS), and enhanced Long range navigation (eLoran) are generated from the reference trajectory. The navigation results obtained from the true measurements are compared with the reference trajectories. The results show that the measurements generated using the design generation module by the proposed method are valid and the navigation environment generation module can be applied to M&S software of the integrated navigation system.

  • When the ground subsystem of Ground Based Augmentation System(GBAS) is installed at the airport, the functions and performance of subsystem should be evaluated through ground and flight testing at the pre-commissioning phase. In the case of GBAS flight testing, it can be conducted by the existing flight check aircraft, but the GBAS ground testing requires the development of specially customized equipment to perform the ground testing. Therefore, this paper describes the preliminary design of GBAS onboard test equipment which can be independently used for the GBAS ground testing and flight testing on a car and an aircraft.

  • 최근 실내 위치 추적시스템과 실외 위치 추적시스템은 다른 방식으로 운영되고 있다. 실내 측위 기법으로는 WiFi와 BLE beacon을 이용한 측위를 이용하고, 실외 측위는 GPS와 PDR을 이용한다. 본 논문에서는 이를 혼용하여 위치를 측정하기 위한 기기로 모바일기기 대표적으로 스마트폰을 기반으로 측정할 때, 실내인지 실외인지를 확인하여 실내에서 운영되는 기법을 이용하다가 실외로 이동할 때 GPS로 자동으로 변환 시켜주는 방식이 필요하다. 실내에서 GPS를 이용하였을 경우 층이나 공간의 구분이 어렵다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방식을 제안한다.

GPS와 가속도계를 이용한 구조물 거동모니터링의 타당성 연구 (Feasibility Study of Structural Behavior Monitoring Using GPS and Accelerometer)

  • 본 연구는 RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic-Global Positioning System) 측위법을 이용한 변위 계측 결과, 가속도계를 이용한 변위계측 결과, 그리고 LVDT(Linear variable differential transformer)의 변위계측 결과를 비교하여 RTK-GPS와 가속도계 센서를 구조물에 적용할 때의 문제점들을 파악하였다. 또한, 관측빈도와 측위 정확도를 향상시킨 RTK-GPS와 가속도계를 이용한 변위계측 결과를 통합 계산하여 절대변위인 LVDT와 비교를 통해 생성된 통합 변위의 정확도와 타당성을 확인하였다.

eLoran Signal Standard Inspection Process Development

  • In order to mitigate the vulnerability of the satellite navigation system against radio frequency interference, South Korea has been developing advanced terrestrial navigation system (eLoran) technology since 2016. The eLoran system synchronizes the transmission time of the pulse used in the existing Loran-C system with UTC and transmits correction information that can improve the position error. The eLoran system is known to reduce the position error of about 460 m of the existing Loran-C system to 20 m, and for this, the transmitter must be able to transmit eLoran signals according to more stringent standards. For this reason, an international standard that further developed the Loran-C signal standard established by US Coast Guard was established by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International. In this paper, based on the analysis of the SAE9990 document, the international standard for eLoran transmission signals, a standard inspection process was produced to check whether the eLoran transmitter is transmitting signals in accordance with the standard.
