  • This study proposes a method to measure the positional accuracy of the implemented GIS polygon data. Also, it aims to present a possibility to analyze the occurrence types of positional errors by improving the measuring methods of positional accuracy based on the existing individual methods and by linking individual methods. As a result of the actual application of the methodology to the test area, it was possible to measure the positional accuracy in target test areas and to analyze the occurrence causes (types) of positional errors through each index linking (linking methodologies). Also, research results allowed confirming the applicability of the methodology. However, complementary research for each standard numerical value is recommended in order to ensure the validity of methodology.

  • The effects of retinoic acid (RA) on the regenerating limbs of Korean newt (Hynobius leechii) larvae have been studied. Intraperitoneal injection of RA at 4 days post-amputation caused the proximalization of regenerate structures in the proximodistal (PD) axis of the limbs amputated through either the distal zeugopodium or the distal stylopodium. The mean level of proximalization (MLP) increased as a dose-dependent manner, and the MLP was also dependent on the level of amputation at a given dose of RA. At the dose of 150 $\mu$ g/g body wt., MLP's in either amputation level reached close to a peak value, and an increasing number of inhibition of regeneration or duplication in the transverse plane occurred at the dose of 200 $\mu$ g/ g body wt. and above. The changes induced by RA treatment suggest that positional values in the cells of the regenerating limbs have been modified in the three cardinal axes including PD and transverse axes in a graded mode. Furthermore, from the comparison of data in two different amputation levels, it can be speculated that the sensitivity of cells to RA effect along the PD axis might not be linear.

  • Five-axis machining has been applied to manufacture of turbine blades, impellers, marine propellers. Nowadays it extends to mold & die machining, where more productivity as well as added value is expected. The five-axis machining can be divided into positional and continuous, according to the variableness of tool orientation during material removal process. The positional five-axis machining is commonly applied to the regional machining on a whole part surface in mold manufacturing industry, where the tool orientation for each region (area) should be determined to be feasible, that is, avoiding any interference such as machine tool collision, etc. Therefore it is required for a CAM programmer to decide a feasible tool orientation in generating tool-paths on a designated area, because it is a very tedious job to obtain such information by utilizing a commercial CAM system. The developed system generates feasibility data on tool orientation and machining region, which facilitates the CAM programmer's decision on a feasible tool orientation.

  • This paper presents a comparative analysis on three different types of performance indices of obstacle detection for an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring. Due to beam overlap, the entire sensing zone of each ultrasonic sensor can be divided into three smaller sensing subzones, which leads to significant reduction of positional uncertainty in obstacle detection. First, the positional uncertainty in obstacle detection is expressed in terms of the area of a sensing subzone, and type 1 performance index is then defined as the area ratio of side and center sensing subzones. Second, based on the area of a sensing subzone, type 2 performance index is defined taking into account the size of the entire range of obstacle detection as well as the degree of the positional uncertainty in obstacle detection. Third, the positional uncertainty in obstacle detection is now expressed in terms of the length of the uncertainty arc spanning a sensing subzone, and type 3 performance index is then defined as the average value of the uncertainty arc lengths over the entire range of obstacle detection. Fourth, using a commercial low directivity ultrasonic sensor, the changes of three different performance indices depending on the parameter of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring are examined and compared.

  • This paper deals with problem of determining process target value under automated visual inspection(AVI) system. Three independent error sources - digitizing error, illumination error, and positional error - which have a close relationship with the performance of the AVI system, are considered. Assuming that digitizing error is uniformly or normally distributed and illumination and positional errors are normally distributed, respectively, the distribution function for the error of measured lengths is derived when the length of a product is measured by the AVI system. Then, Optimal target values under two error models of AVI system are obtained by minimizing the total expected cost function which consists of give away, rework and penalty cost. To validate two process setting models, AVI system for drinks filling process is made up and test results are discussed.

  • It is very important to inspect the color of printed texture in the textile process. The standard colorimetric system used for the recognition of the color in the textile industry. It uses XYZ color system defined by CIE (Commission Internationale de 1Eclairage), but is too expensive. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a color inspection system of the printed texture using a color scanner. Because the scanner uses RGB value for color, it is necessary the mapping from RGB to XYZ. However, the mapping is not simple, and the scanner has even positional deviation because of the geometric characteristics. To transform from RGB to XYZ, we used a NN (neural network) model and also compensated the positional deviation. In real experiments, we could get fairly exact XYZ value from the proposed color inspection system in spite of using a color scanner with large measuring area.

  • This paper presents the performance evaluation. optimal design. and complex obstacle detection of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring by introducing a new concept of effective beam width. It is assumed that a set of ultrasonic sensors of the same type are arranged along a circle of nonzero radius at regular spacings with their beams overlapped. First, the global positional uncertainty of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring is expressed by the average value of local positional uncertainty over the entire obstacle detection range. The effective beam width of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring is assessed as the beam width of a single ultrasonic sensor having the same amount of global positional uncertainty, from which a normalized obstacle detection performance index is defined. Second. using the defined index, the design parameters of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring are optimized for minimal positional uncertainty in obstacle detection. For a given number of ultrasonic sensors, the optimal radius of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring is determined, and for a given radius of an overlapped ultrasonic sensor ring, the optimal number of ultrasonic sensors is determined. Third, the decision rules of positional uncertainty zone for multiple obstacle detection are provided based on the inequality relationships among obstacle distances by three adjacent ultrasonic sensors. Using the provided rules, the obstacle outline detection is performed in a rather complex environment consisting of several obstacles of different shapes.

  • The study aims to design the corset type long-line bra patterns that compensate part-somatotype of women in their 20s. The corset type long-line research bra patterns consist of 4 sections: cup, front bodice, back bodice, and shoulder strap. The full cup is made up of 2 lower part pieces and 1 upper part piece, and the shoulder strap is 16 millimeters wide. The method to design the patterns is shown in figure 4 and figure 5. The result of wearing test showed that, while the wearing testers recognized some significant differences in 19 out of 26 criteria, the examiners did in 17 out of 23. The criteria more than 1 in an average value between research bras and commercial bras were 'appropriateness of breadth of shoulder strap', 'appropriateness of pressure of armhole circumference'. 'appropriateness of pressure of waist', 'suitability of side line and body curve', 'appropriateness of positional pressure of chest circumference', 'appropriateness of positional pressure of upper part line', 'appropriateness of positional pressure of bottom part line', and 'satisfaction of whole silhouette of side and back'. The research and commercial bras were evaluated 4.23 and 3.44 respectively by the testers, and 4.25 and 3.40 by the examiners. The former ones were scored higher by both parties. They were also appreciated higher in general silhouettes of fitting and appearance.

  • This paper proposes an ETWAD(Encapsulation and Tunneling Wormhole Attack Detection) design based on positional information and hop count on Ad-Hoc Network. The ETWAD technique is designed for generating GAK(Group Authentication Key) to ascertain the node ID and group key within Ad-hoc Network and authenticating a member of Ad-hoc Network by appending it to RREQ and RREP. In addition, A GeoWAD algorithm detecting Encapsulation and Tunneling Wormhole Attack by using a hop count about the number of Hops within RREP message and a critical value about the distance between a source node S and a destination node D is also presented in ETWAD technique. Therefore, as this paper is estimated as the average probability of Wormhole Attack detection 91%and average FPR 4.4%, it improves the reliability and probability of Wormhole Attack Detection.
