Pyroelectric infrared detectors based on La-modified $PbTiO_{3}$ (PLT) thin films have been fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering and rnicrornachining technology. The detectors form $Pb_{l-x}La_{x}Ti_{1-x/4}O_{3}$ (x=0.05) thin film ferroelectric capacitors epitaxially grown by RF magnetron sputtering on Pt/MgO (100) substrate. The sputtered PLT thin film exhibits highly c-axis oriented crystal structure that no poling treatment for sensing applications is required. This is an essential factor to increase the yield for realization of an infrared image sensor. Micromachining technology is used to lower the thermal mass of the detector by giving maximum sensor efficiency. Polymide is coated on top of the sensing elements to support the fragile structure and the backside of the MgO substrate is selectively etched to reduce the heat loss. The sensing element exhibited a very high detectivity D* of $8.5{\times}10^{8}cm{\cdot}\sqrt{Hz}/W$ at room temperature and it is about 100 times higher than the case of micromachining technology is not used. A sensing system that detects the position as well as the existence of a human body is realized using the array sensor.

The purpose of study is to obtain low-emission and high-efficiency in LPG engine with hydrogen enrichment. The test engine was named heavy-duty variable compression ratio single cylinder engine (VCSCE). The fuel supply system provides LPG/hydrogen mixtures based on same heating value. Various sensors such as crank shaft position sensor (CPS) and hall sensor supply spark timing data to ignition controller. Displacement of VCSCE is $1858.2cm^3$. VCSCE was runned 1400rpm with compression ratio 8. Spark timing was set MBT without knocking. Relative air-fuel ratio(${\lambda}$) of this work was varied between 0.76 and 1.5. As a result, i) Maximum thermal efficiency occurred at ${\lambda}$ value 1.0. It was shown that thermal efficiency was increased approximately 5% with hydrogen enrichment at same ${\lambda}$ value. ii) Engine-out carbon monoxide (CO) emissions were decreased at a great rate under LPG/hydrogen mixture fuelling. iii) Total hydrocarbon (THC) emission was much exhausted in rich zone, same as CO. But THC was exhausted a little bit more in lean zone. iv) Finally, engine-out oxides of nitrogen (NOx) was increased with ${\lambda}$ value 1.0 zone at a greater rate with hydrogen enrichment due to high adiabatic flame temperature.
In this study, we measured the blood flow on arm by non-invasive method and implemented a system to measure variation of the blood flow by estimating bio-electrical impedance and arterial pressure according to cuff pressure. The implemented system measured impedance variation according to pressure variation applied by artificial cuff pressure on the measuring position. The system consisted of pressure measuring part and impedance measuring part using 4-electrode method. Pressure measuring part was composed of semiconductor pressure sensor and electronic circuit for signal processing of sensor output signal. In addition, impedance measuring part was composed of constant current source circuit and lock-in amplifier for detecting impedance signal. We conducted experiments of impedance measuring part using standard resistance for performance evaluation of the implemented system. In addition we experimented to estimate variation of the blood flow by measuring impedances of the experimental group. We estimated ratio of the blood flow resistance using mean arterial pressure and variation of the blood flow. As a result the ratio of the blood flow resistance and variation of blood flow were in an inverse relationship with each other and the correlation coefficient was -0.96776.
Linear towed arrays (LTA) have a nonlinear shape due to tow vessel motion, ocean swells and currents. By reasons of nominally linear shape, various towed array shape estimation techniques have been developed since the perturbed shape cause the error in target detection. In this paper,, we propose the beamforming method for the perturbed LTA with simple structure. The proposed method linearizes a nonlinear phase of steering vector with position information measured by two reference sensors. It can be proved using some properties of Markov transition matrix, and iteration number of linearization process is decided by variance of cross phase difference. As a result of computer simulation in the ocean environment, beampattern of the proposed method is almost same with the ideal case in my type of array shape. In the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance simlation, the DOA estimation performance of the proposed beamforming method is evaluated, and the comparison with Bartlett beamformer of the LTA shows that the proposed method can estimate. the spatial characteristic of sources more accuracy.

Diligence/Indolence records are the basic data at a human resource management and the essential data for measure salaries of employees. However, since the D/I systems using RFIDs or biometric sensors require hish costs to build and operate the D/I systems, it is difficult for to small business or self-employed business to use them. In this paper, we propose the Diligence/Indolence system to use the location identification of a smart phon. To locate the position of an employee, the WiFi signal of a smart phone and the wireless access point are exploited. Because the pre-owned hardware resources are used and initial building costs are low, it is easy for small business to use the proposed D/I system with low cost.

The Intelligent Space(ISpace) provides challenging research fields for surveillance, human-computer interfacing, networked camera conferencing, industrial monitoring or service and training applications. ISpace is the space where many intelligent devices, such as computers and sensors, are distributed. According to the cooperation of many intelligent devices, the environment, it is very important that the system knows the location information to offer the useful services. In order to achieve these goals, we present a method for representing, tracking and human Jollowing by fusing distributed multiple vision systems in ISpace, with application to pedestrian tracking in a crowd. This paper describes appearance based unknown object tracking with the distributed vision system in intelligent space. First, we discuss how object color information is obtained and how the color appearance based model is constructed from this data. Then, we discuss the global color model based on the local color information. The process of learning within global model and the experimental results are also presented.

In this paper, we represent a mobile robot which can recognize chemical odor, measure concentration, and track its source indoors. The mobile robot has the function of smell that can sort several gases in experiment such as ammonia, ethanol, and their mixture with neural network algorithm and measure each gas concentration with fuzzy rules. In addition, it can not only navigate to the desired position with vision system by avoiding obstacles but also transmit odor information and warning messages earned from its own operations to other nodes by multi-hop communication in wireless sensor network. We suggest the way of odor sorting, concentration measurement, and source tracking for a mobile robot in wireless sensor network using a hybrid algorithm with vision system and gas sensors. The experimental studies prove that the efficiency of the proposed algorithm for odor recognition, concentration measurement, and source tracking.

Drone is currently used for wide application areas in our real life. Also it performs more important functions. We propose a method of drone operation system for the prevention of industrial disaster. In normal operation of drone system the drone monitors the industrial sites according to the planned flight path with acquiring the monitored images and send the image information to the server. The server analyzes and compares the images to DB information by calculating the similarity based on the threshold. Then the system decides whether the industrial sites has problems or not. If the abnormal condition is occurred, the drone change the flight path to abnormal flight path and keep monitoring the industrial sites with measuring the air status by sensors and sends all information to server system on the ground. If the emergency case is occurred, drone approaches the closest position of accident points and acquiring the all information and send them to server and 119 center.

Early-detection and monitoring of toxic chemical gas cloud with chemical detector is essential for reducing the number of casualties. Conventional method for chemical detection and reconnaissance has the limitation in approaching to chemically contaminated site and prompt understanding for the situation. Stand-off detector can detect and identify the chemical gas at a long distance but it cannot know exact distance and position. Chemical detection UAV is an emerging platform for its high mobility and operation safety. In this study, we have conducted chemical gas cloud detection with the stand-off chemical detector and the chemical detection UAV. DMMP vapor was generated in the area where the cloud can be detected through the field of view(FOV) of stand-off chemical detector. Monitoring the vapor cloud with standoff detector, the chemical detection UAV moved back and forth at the area DMMP vapor being generated to detect the chemical contamination. The hybrid detection system with standoff cloud detection and point detection by chemical sensors with UAV seems to be very efficient as a new concept of chemical detection.

In this paper, we propose a walking aid system that guides route to visually impaired people in order to recognize uncertain obstacles based on tactile stimulation. The proposed system is composed of the touch-based obstacle detection module, the obstacle height detection module, and the route guidance algorithms. The touch-based obstacle detection module detects each obstacle, which is located at left, right, and front of a visually impaired person by stimulating his thumb with the rotational force of the servomotor. The obstacle height detection module integrates detected data by the linear arrangement of ultrasonic sensors to identify the height of an obstacle about 3 of-phase(i.e., high, medium, low). The proposed route guidance algorithm guides an optimized path to the visually impaired person by updating his current position information based on the signal of the built-in GPS receiver in smartphone. In addition, the route guidance algorithm delivers information with speech to a visually impaired person through Bluetooth commuination in the developed route guidance app. The proposed system can create a path to avoid the obstacles by recognizing the placed situation of the obstacles with exploring the uncertain path.
