영구자석 동기 전동기의 I-F 구동과 센서리스 구동을 위한 속도 제어 절환 기법 (Speed Controller Transition Method for I-F Operation and Sensorless Operation of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)

  • 영구자석 동기 전동기는 출력 밀도가 높고 효율이 높다는 장점 때문에 적용 범위가 넓어지고 있다. 자동차나 로봇과 같은 고전력밀도, 고성능 전동기 구동 시스템뿐만 아니라 세탁기, 에어컨, 냉장고와 같은 비용 절감이 매우 중요한 시스템에도 영구자석 동기 전동기가 사용되고 있다. 비용 절감을 위해 회전자 위치 센서를 제거하는 센서리스 제어가 필요한데, 일반적으로 센서리스 제어는 전동기를 기동하는 조건에서는 사용하기 어렵다. 따라서 초기 기동에서는 전류 벡터를 임의의 속도로 회전시키는 I-F 속도 제어를 사용하고, 특정 속도 이상이 되면 센서리스 속도 제어로 절환해야 한다. I-F 속도 제어와 센서리스 속도 제어에서의 속도 제어 성능도 중요하지만 두 제어 기법이 절환되는 과도 상태에서도 속도 제어 성능을 유지해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 영구자석 동기 전동기의 센서리스 속도 제어를 위해 I-F 속도 제어에서 센서리스 속도 제어로의 절환 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법의 성능을 확인하기 위해 세탁기 구동 시스템에서 실험을 수행하였다.

Torque Ripple Reduction Method in a Sensorless Drive for the BLDC Motor

  • This paper presents a method to reduce the commutation torque ripple in a position sensorless brushless DC motor drive. To compensate the commutation torque ripple considerably, the duration of commutation must be known. The proposed method measures the duration of commutation from the terminal voltage of the motor, calculates a PWM duty ratio using the measured commutation interval to suppress the commutation torque ripple, and applies it to the calculated PWM duty ratio only during the next commutation. Experimental results show that pulsating currents and vibrations are considerably reduced when the proposed method is applied to a position sensorless brushless DC motor drive for the air-conditioner compressor.

  • The indirect rotor position detection method using terminal voltage of brushless DC motor (BLDCM) requires simple control circuit, and has wide speed range of sensorless operation. However, because the substantial phase difference exists between real back emf and terminal voltage, the existing indirect detection method using analog filter which is affected by frequency, speed, and load sensitively cannot be synchronized with current, in the end, it advances or delays. This paper presents new analog filter circuit design for rotor position estimation in order to solve the problem, and proposes novel sensorless operation method which is stable even in high speed range and not influenced by parameters with analysis on phase difference by load and speed. Moreover, the appropriateness of the proposed sensorless drive in this paper is verified and analyzed by experimentation.

  • Sensorless induction motor drive is much studied due to the cost and reliability of speed and position sensors. Most sensorless algorithms are based on the mathematical modeling of induction motor including electrical variables such as phase current and voltage. Therefore, the accuracy of such variables largely affects the performance of sensorless induction motor drive. However, the phase voltage does not have to be directly monitored because of switching noise, and they may be reconstructed by using the command voltage. The output voltage of SVPWM-VSI supplying the motor has a considerable error, especially in a low speed range because SVPWM-VSI has a poor resolution in a low command voltage. Such a voltage information effect in speed sensorless control of induction motor has been investigated in this paper.

  • This paper describes a novel sensorless excitation position detecting method of Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) drive. A suitable excitation pattern of each phases is determined by comparison of detecting current without an inductance estimation. The principle of the rotor position estimation is based on the detection of phase current according to rotor position. This sensorless method is very simple and gives efficient control of drive system. The suggested method is verified by experiments.

  • A Switched Reluctance Generator attracts much attention in the generator because of high efficiency, simplicity, and ruggedness. However, they require rotor position information to operate. In many systems, the rotor position sensor is expensive, limited and undesirable. This paper describes a new approach to estimating the rotor position of the SRG from the measured terminal voltage and current for rotor position sensorless control. The proposed method is based on the instantaneous flux of the SRG. The proposed technique is very simple. The proposed method is verified by computer simulation and experiments.

Variable Coefficient Inductance Model-Based Four-Quadrant Sensorless Control of SRM

  • The phase inductance of a switch reluctance motor (SRM) is significantly nonlinear. With different saturation conditions, the phase inductance shape is clearly changed. This study focuses on the relationship between coefficient and current in an inductance model with ignored harmonics above the order of 3. A position estimation method based on the variable coefficient inductance model is proposed in this paper. A four-quadrant sensorless control system of the SRM drive is constructed based on the relationship between variable coefficient inductance and rotor position. The proposed algorithms are implemented in an experimental SRM test setup. Experimental results show that the proposed method estimates position accurately in operating two/four-quadrants. The entire system also has good static and dynamic performance.

  • Recently, the use of IPMSM is coming to be active, in many industrial applications. In sensorless drive of IPMSM, it is important to know the exact information of the initial rotor position, because the wrong estimation of the initial rotor position brings about the decrease of the starting torque, or a temporary reverse revolution, In addition, PMSM is necessary to use the accurate information of the inductance for the precise torque control owing to the reluctance torque. In this paper presents initial rotor position estimation method and, measure method of the each-axis inductance. And to minimize the speed estimations error, the estimated speeds are compensated by using an instantaneous reactive power in synchronously rotating reference frame.

  • This paper describes a new methods of detecting rotor position in SRM(switched reluctance motor). The Conventional method of position sensorless control for SRM is measuring phase current and pulse voltage applied in unexcited phase. The estimation of rotor position based on the detection of inductance by pulse current. Implementation is via low-cost electronic circuits with DSP320F241. Test results show that this technique is a possible approach to detect the rotor position of an SRM.

  • This paper is proposed to position and speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive without mechanical sensor. The rotor position, which is an essential component of any vector control schemes, is calculated through the instantaneous stator flux position and an estimated flux value of rotating reference frame. A closed-loop state observer is implemented to compute the speed feedback signal. The validity of the proposed sensorless scheme is confirmed by simulation and its dynamic performance is examined in detail.
