항만 경쟁력제고를 위한 항만물류기능과 항만품질수준간의 관련성 분석 (An Analysis of the Relationship between the Port-Logistics Function and Port-Quality for the Competitiveness of Port)

  • Since the mid 1980s, the concept of logistics has become more important to the enterprises in strategic sense because it had aggrandized itself to more comprehensive and integrative concept. Therefore study on the service organization of the logistics system for customer’s satisfaction from the management’s point has been focused as one of the major subject in order to improve the logistics quality which would ultimately increase the value of logistics service. This study has been focused on what the port logistics functions and the factors of the port logistics quality are those Korean port managers acknowledge as important factor. And examins these port logistics quality levels and the port logistics value (port productivity, service results) obtained by the results of these activities while reviewing the relation of the custom value which the port managers evaluate in order to evaluate and promote the competitiveness of the Korean port. According to the study results the port logistics function which the Pusan Container Terminal managers recognized as important were customer service management the flexibility of the port facilities and curtailment of the original operation cost of the port. It also indicated that the managers recognized the importance of the customer-oriented terminal management as it showed a close relationship with the port quality level.

Exploring Study on the Effect of Perceived Port Service Quality on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty.

  • Due to the rapid changes in world trade and shipping environment, today's ports face ever-increasing competition, from adjacent competing ports. To this reason, port service quality has been recognized as an important strategy to take competitive advantage for those competition. In general, service quality has effect on customer loyalty, and customer loyalty is the resource to sustain competitive advantage which service providers or service producers. By improving customer loyalty, companies can get more benefits and added value. However, this causality qf port service quality has not been clearly identified. Thus, various empirical studies in relation to port service quality are needed. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of perceived port service quality on customer satisfaction and loyalty. To achieve this aim, we established 8 hypotheses based on SERVPERF in order to test correlations of 5 dimensions of port service, port service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. From the result of the hypothesis testing, we found that customer satisfaction and port service quality do not affect customer loyalty in spite of high effect of port service on customer satisfaction.

게임이론 비용배분규칙에 의한 항만서비스 가격산정 (Pricing the Seaport Service according to the Cost Allocation Rule of Game Theory)

  • 글로벌공급사슬간 경쟁이 격화됨에 따라 항만서비스도 항만의 존속과 경쟁력제고를 위한 시장지향적인 가격산정이 크게 필요하다. 협조적 게임이론의 오웬밸류는 선사주체의 시장지향적 항만서비스가격 산정에 활용될 수 있다. 이를 우리나라 광양항의 사례에 적용하여 그 유용성을 확인해보았다. 본 연구결과 부두용 특성함수를 사용하여 선석별 비용배분 문제를 해결하고, Budescu(1993)방법을 통해 안벽사용지수를 구하기 위한 관련요인의 상대적 가중치를 합리적으로 산정하였다. 또한 주요 선사에 대한 사용료 우대방안과 선사간 전략적 제휴에 의한 항만서비스 가격할인방안을 구축하였다. 본 연구를 결과를 활용하여 대형선박을 자주 운항하는 주요 선사에 대한 체계적인 요금할인을 통해 항만서비스요금을 전략적으로 책정 할 수 있을 것이다.

ON-DOCK 서비스 시스템이 부산항 경쟁력 향상에 미치는 영향 (On the Effect of ON-DOCK System to the Sharpening of Competitiveness Edge of the Pusan Port)

  • Port competition is generally classified into two type of inter-domestic ports and intermational ports and the latter is measured how to secure the function of intermediacy for foreign cargoes among competing parts. In the Northeast Asia top 20 world container ports such as Pusan, Kobe, Yokohama and Kaohsiung are struggling to induce transshipment containers generated in the North China region. This paper aims to analyze and evaluate the competitive factors of the said ports such as port site facilities expenses service level and flexibility of management and operations and suggest the feasible strategies that the Pusan Port to be viable transshipment center in the region. The evaluation is attempted twice. First attempt is evaluated by present conditions of each port and second attempt by upgraded conditions of evaluation value such as port service level and flexibility of port management and operations resulted from the implementation of the ON-DOCK service system. The results of evaluation are as follows; (1) Port competitiveness of first evaluation is ranked in Kobe=Kaohsiung >Pusan>Yokohama. (2) Second evaluation is resulted in Kobe> Pusan= Kaohsiung>Yokohama. According to this results the competitiveness edge of the Pusan Port is able to strengthen by implementation of the ON-DOCk system.

군산항 배후단지의 로지스틱스 전략 (A Study on the Logistics Strategies in Kunsan Port's Hinterland)

  • The purpose of this study is to consolidate the position of Kunsan Port as a Hub-port in Northeast asian region with the development of Kunsan port's hinterland. To accomplish the purpose, this paper firstly reviews the concept and function of port's hinterland literally. Next, We attempt to grasps the trends of port logistics service in this region, and to cope with this trends, study the previous researches of logistics platform(LP). Based upon the study, We find out the main factors of improving efficiency in port logistics, and build the model of logistics strategy with such factors as (1) Environment (2) Marketing (3) Logistics Chain and (4) Logistics community. And in order to applicate the model, we analyze the current situation of Kunsan port and port's hinterland. Finally, we provide the logistics strategies in Kunsan port's hinterland.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 우리 항만이 동북아 거점항만으로 변신하는데 필요한 항만공급사슬전략을 도출하여 거점항만으로의 발전전략의 적합성을 분석하였다. 경쟁항만의 발전 잠재력을 충분히 고려하고 우리 항만의 시설${\cdot}$서비스수준의 미흡성을 하루속히 보완하는 유연한 항만 공급능력의 확보, 항만리드타임(접안시간, 양하역시간 등)의 최소화와 뭍류서비스를 극대화${\cdot}$다양화할 수 있는 모듈방식의 항만운영의 다양화가 필요함을 검증하였다. 특히, 거점항만 개발전략에서 다양한 부가서비스의 제공과 실질적인 부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 방향으로 항만배후부지 개발이 매우 중요한 것으로 나타나고 있다.

여수세계박람회장 사후시설 인식도 조사 및 비시장가치 분석 (Research of Cognition Degree and Non-market Value for Yeosu World Exposition Expost Facto Service)

  • 본 연구는 2012년 여수세계박람회장의 사후활용에 대한 현재의 진행 사항과 국민들의 인식 정도를 살펴보고, 이에 따른 사후활용시설의 비시장가치를 추정하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 여수세계박람회장의 사후활용 조성 방향에 대해 살펴 본 후 현재 추진이 지연되고 있는 사후활용 추진 현황에 대해 검토해 보았다. 또한 일반 국민들이 여수세계박람회장 사후활용에 대한 인식도 조사를 위해 전국에서 900명의 표본을 선출하여 여수세계박람회장의 방문의사 등의 설문을 수행하였다. 그리고 이와 아울러 조건부가치측정법(CVM)을 이용하여 여수세계박람회장의 비시장가치를 추정하였다. 추정 결과 여수세계박람회장 사후활용시설은 연간 508억원, 5년간 총 2,171억원인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 여수세계박람회장의 사후활용시설이 잠재적 가치가 매우 크며, 정부는 향후 추진방향의 설정이 이를 고려할 필요가 있다는 점을 암시하고 있다.

인천항의 물류네트워크 경쟁력 분석에 관한 연구 (A study on Competitiveness Analysis of Incheon Port Logistics Network)

  • 본 연구는 선행연구와 전문가 인터뷰를 통하여 항만물류네트워크가 제공하는 서비스 경쟁력의 주요속성들을 추출하고, 이 속성들을 토대로 인천항의 경쟁력 변화에 따른 파급효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 항만물류네트워크가 제공하는 서비스는 시설편의, 접근편의, 결정편의로 구분됨을 확인하였고, 항만간 물류네트워크 경쟁력 통합평가치의 결과에서는 부산항>청도항>천진항>대련항>인천항 순으로 경쟁력 차이를 보였다. 특히 시나리오 분석 결과 인천항의 물류네트워크 경쟁력은 대련항에도 크게 못 미치는 결과를 보여 전반적인 물류네트워크 서비스 증대가 불가피한 것으로 나타났다. 퍼지역평가를 통해 분석한 결과 인천항은 물류네트워크가 제공하는 서비스 수준을 시설편의 25%, 접근편의 8%, 결정편의 1%를 상승시킴으로써 대련항과 대등한 경쟁력 수준을 유지할 수 있었다.

우리나라 항만클러스터 구축방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Establishment of Port Cluster in Korea)

  • Recently, the cluster-based industrial policy has become a powerful policy tool for strengthening the competitiveness of nations, industries and firms. The concept of cluster develops as firms choose to locate in each others proximity. Cluster concept can be usefully applied to analyze cluster of port-related activities. Port cluster can be used as a systematic foundation for providing one-stop value added logistics service to its customers. The main purpose of this paper is to suggest a way for establishing the port cluster in Korean seaport. For this aim, the paper defines a concept of port cluster and examines the its necessity. And the procedure for establishment of port cluster in Korea is proposed. In addition, the paper analyzed the port cluster structure-conduit-performance. Especially, the role of port cluster's participants, central and local government, universities and related R&D institutes, and private companies, are suggested respectively. As a conclusion, policy suggestions for the establishment of port cluster in Korea are suggested.

Searching for Best Practices in Developing Ports as Logistics Centers

  • Global firms are seeking to implement their global logistics strategies in two ways: the use of centralized inventories and/or postponement of final assembly. These strategies stress the importance of regional logistics centers. In most cases, regional logistics centers are located in or near ports so that changing demands can be met with economy, reliability and flexibility, The port can profit not only from the activities of logistics center itself, but also the increasing flow of cargo through the logistics center. A number of ports respond to this trend by shifting their emphasis from traditional cargo-handling services to value-added services. This paper presents guidelines drawn from the best practices of ports to be successful logistics centers to provide many aspects of value-added logistics services. These include: Effective Planning and Development of Logistics Centers; Institutional Incentive Scheme; Development of Free Trade Zones; Financing Infrastructure related to Logistics Centers; Developing Logistics Service Providers and Logistics Professionals; Development of Information Technology; and Regulatory and Administrative Issues. These guidelines will help managers of ports and policy makers of governments in the East Asian region learn to recognize, analyze and adopt the best practices for use.
