컬러 정보와 윤곽선 추적을 이용한 컨테이너 식별자 인식 (Recognition of Container Identifier using Color Information and Contour Following)

  • 영상처리 기술을 이용한 컨테이너 식별자 자동인식은 항만자동화와 물류 처리율 향상에 매우 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 칼라정보를 이용한 윤곽선 추출과 추출된 문자영역에 대한 문자 조건 검증 알고리즘을 사용하여 입력 영상의 다양한 밝기변화와 잡음에 강한 컨테이너 식별자 인식 기법을 제안하였다. 360장의 컨테이너 영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과 제안한 방법이 식별자 인식에 유용함을 확인하였다.

  • It becomes common to use computers to control electronic devices and security facilities in newly constructed buildings and house. There are many home application devices in the market which can be controlled by computers. But they are expensive and managed by specialized companies. This paper is focused on personal computers which are available in most homes and can be used to control home electronic appliances and home security facilities. We implemented a home automation server based on Linux. The standard parallel port of personal computer is used to connect sensors and actuators. Therefore, the cost of the server is very low. Moreover, the server is connected to Internet and anywhere we can control and monitor the home security facilities and home automation systems.

  • In this study, as the preliminary step for developing an unmanned vehicle to deliver a container-box, we designed and implemented Automatic Guided Vehicle(AGV) Simulator for the purpose of Port Facilities Automation. It is preferable to research the intelligent AGV for delivery all day long. For complementing AGV simulator driving, we used multiple-sensor systems with vision, ultrasonic, IR and adapted the high-speed wireless LAN that satisfies the IEEE 802.11 Standard for bi-directional communication between main processor in AGV and Host computer. Here, we mounted on bottom frame in AGV Pentium-III processor, which combine and compute the information from each sensor system and control the AGV driving, and used the 80C196KC micro-controller to control the actuating and steering motors.

A Study on the Countermeasures of Shipping and Port Logistics Industry in Responding to the Progression of Fourth Industrial Revolution

  • The presence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is omniscient, led by full force emergence of technologies that make biological, physical, and digital worlds borderless. All industries which jump on the bandwagon, can observe convergence and merging of bushiness happening within, between and across industries. As the shipping and port logistics industry is said to be in eye of this storm, the purpose of this study is to investigate the shipping and port logistics industry's awareness regarding 4th IR, as well to identify necessary countermeasures in responding to progression of this trend. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology was then used to compare the importance of four phases of countermeasures, reviewed by experts in the field. Results showed that countermeasures should be first orchestrated to the 'Merging and Integration of Inter-industry', then followed by 'P reemptive Introduction of Advanced Technology', 'Expansion of Intra-industry Businesses', and eventually 'Automation, Unmanned Technology'. Last but not least, four phases of countermeasures which should be introduced and executed one phase after another, are outlined for the shipping and port logistics industry to boost its competitiveness in addressing this progressive trend.

  • This study is to find subjects for the Automated Container Terminal(ACT) development and container terminal system. Also we analyze the present condition of the container terminal system in Pusan port and its automation level by systems approach. And this paper aims at evaluating on the priority of R&D investment until the beginning of the second stage of New Pusan Port Project(2006). In this process we have considered 8 evaluation indexes(cost, labor, area, time, volume, reliability. safety, convenience) to analyze 6 subsystems. The priority of R&D until target year by sub-systems is as follow: 1. Cargo Handing System, 2. Transfer System, 3. Port Entry System, 4. Storage System (Distribution & Manufacturing System included), 5.Inland Transport System, 6.Port Management & Information System.

  • The advantage of the latest technical development in the field of automation, electronics, telecommunications, informatics, geomatics and global position fixing techniques, achievement in data storing, processing, analysing, transferring and visualisation must be taken into account and applied to the maritime technology in the very near future. We should build new e-Navigation era using those technologies [16]. In the paper the Author proposes to introduce and define two new terms: navitronics - formed by analogy to mechatronics, and nautomatics - created by analogy to geomatics and telematics to be combination of those two disciplines in navigational applications.

  • The Container crane is mainly used in the harbor. But in spite of this wide use, it is a fact that there are still areas for automation, concerning the operator and the control system. If the encoding function is enhanced, then control effect can be increased to some extent. Since the distance from the hoist to the trolley cam be measured, the moving distance from the loading and unloading can be minimized. If this is applied to the real system, hazard elements can be eliminated and in given time since more unloading can be done, congestion can be reduced.

항만 게이트의 데미지 컨테이너 관리 자동화 시스템 구축 사례연구 (A Case Study of Automation Management System of Damaged Container in the Port Gate)

  • 컨테이너 선박의 대형화에 따라 컨테이너터미널 내에서 동일한 시간 내에 처리해야 하는 물동량이 계속적으로 증가하고 있다. 컨테이너터미널에서는 수동처리 방식의 한계를 극복함과 동시에 지속적으로 운영측면에서 발생하는 비용을 줄이기 위하여 컨테이너터미널의 자동화 시스템을 도입하고 있다. 왜냐하면 컨테이너터미널의 게이트 반출 입 업무를 수행함에 있어 수작업 처리 시 부정확한 자료 처리로 혼란 요소가 다소 발생하고 있다. 바코드 시스템에서 스캐너에 바코드를 직접 인식시켜야하기 때문에 처리 시간소요가 다소 길고 불편함 있어 이러한 문제점을 보안하여 게이트 자동화 시스템 RFID시스템은 차량 번호를 인식하는 기술을 이용하여 반출 입 처리 소요시간 단축하여 효율적인 게이트 업무 수행을 할 수 있다. 한편, 데미지 컨테이너 체크를 수동으로 진행하는 경우 게이트 반입 할때 컨테이너의 손상여부 확인 후 수기로 게이트 작업자가 직접 문서을 작성하여 보관하기 때문에 고객이 데미지 컨테이너 증거자료를 요청할때 증거자료로 제출하기에 불충분하여 고객으로부터 크레임을 받는 경우가 발생하였다. 또한, 게이트 작업자 및 인력에 의한 컨테이너 관리의 어려움 발생하였고 게이트 주변 인력의 컨테이너 관리 안전사고에 위험이 항상 노출되어 있었다. 본 논문에서 고찰하는 게이트 데미지 컨테이너 자동화 시스템을 도입하게 되면 영상 저장 시스템에 의한 컨테이너 관리가 가능하다. 컨테이너 손상정보가 시스템에 저장되어 있기 때문에 고객이 데미지 컨테이너 자료를 요청 시 시스템에 저장 되어 있는 데미지 컨테이너 영상을 검색하여 증거자료 제출이 가능하고 고객으로부터의 크레임 대비가 가능하다. 또한, 게이트 관리 인력 업무의 통합으로 인력 감소 및 게이트 부근 안전사고 위험이 감소하였다.
