The percentage of postnatal disabled people and elderly population is rapidly increased by the industrialization, and the improvement of medical technology. The disparity between the city and rural area is in the way to disabled people who need rehabilitation. To solve these problems, Community Based Rehabilitation(CBR) is suggested by WHO. In this study, at first, the CBR model considering the specific characteristics of AnSan City are presented. Secondly, the first, the second, and the third rehabilitation facilities in AnSan City are classified by the CBR model. Thirdly, the estimation of optimum space for physical therapy and occupational therapy at rehabilitation center and public health center are sugested, which are the second level rehabilitation facilities. There are some differences in the distribution of population between new and old area in AnSan City. In other words, the subject population of CBR program in old area is relatively higher than that of new area. So, the CBR program for AnSan City must reflect their regional characteristics. In this study, the therapeutic boundaries of second level rehabilitation facilities is decided through the survey of physical therapists and occupational therapists in general hospitals and nursing homes.
Perennial stipitate kelps are globally distributed and individual species can inhabit broad latitudinal ranges, expressing notably longevous persistence. Despite the foundational role kelps provide to their communities, little is known about the variability in persistence of the stipitate kelps at local spatial scales. We studied the population persistence of Eisenia arborea, a heat- and wave force-tolerant perennial stipitate kelp with a distributional range extending from British Columbia to south of the range limit of all other northeast Pacific kelps, in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Persistence characteristics for E. arborea among sites were compared and used to test the hypothesis that stand persistence varied at local spatial scales around Isla Natividad, a Pacific island off the Baja California peninsula with documented spatiotemporal environmental heterogeneity. Collected individuals around the island were "aged" using the previously validated age estimation technique of counting annual cortical dark rings. After detecting no significant differences among sites in the covariation between estimated ages for collected individuals and stipe length, we utilized in-situ population-level stipe length measurements to more rapidly predict age structures within six stands around the island. Predicted age structures, and associated stand densities, revealed persistence characteristics and density varied at local scales and a strong positive relationship existed between stand density and stand mean and maximum ages. We speculate that stands responded differently to deterministic influences (e.g., the 2014-2016 marine heatwave and / or competition with Macrocystis) resulting in heterogenous local persistence of this foundation species.
To assess land subsidence estimation and preparedness in the Geum River basin, this study applied GIS techniques and identified six key areas. The Geum River basin has experienced an increase in heavy rainfall since late 2010, and four study areas have shown an increase in groundwater levels. Land subsidence primarily occurred from June to September, with higher rainfall years in 2020 and 2023. Approximately 83.6% of land subsidence in Chungcheongbuk-do province occurred in Cheongju-si, mainly attributed to aging sewage pipes. The regions experiencing population growth have likely led to the construction of underground infrastructures and sewer pipes. Thus, it is considered that various factors, including sewage pipe leaks, precipitation, slope gradient, low drainage density, and groundwater level fluctuations, have contributed to land subsidence. Improving land subsidence estimation involves incorporating additional natural factors and human activities.
Recently, as the population of the elderly rapidly increases, the number of the special care facility for the elderly is a big social issue. Especially, special care facilities(nursing home, skilled nursing home, etc) for the elderly in Seoul are insufficient now. So this study quantitatively estimates nursing home beds needed in seoul in 2007, 2012 and 2017, and proposes an allocation of these facilities in Seoul. This study is to clarify problems in supply of long-term care facilities and present a solution for them. The main outcome of this study can be summarized into three parts; first, as architectural planning and supply estimation of long term care facility, an aged population of cities and countries in Seoul should be considered. Second, when the allocation of long term care facility in Seoul, the type of facilities, regional equilibrium etc. should be considered. Third, nursing home and residential care home are linked with the other area.
Conventional studies concerning about economic evaluation of fisheries damages caused by public undertakings have focused on showing the causality between marin environmental variation and fisheries production. But almost all of them have ignored the effect of fisheries damages factors on fisheries price. The study tries to suggest a model how to examine the existence and measurement of the effect of fisheries damage factors on fisheries price using statistical approach, in other words, the estimation of the statistical coincidence between two different population means. The paper tries to give a good application of the model using the case of fisheries damages caused by oil leakage pollution which happened three years ago in the coast of Taean province.
This paper tries to show the appropriate estimation method of oil pollution damage for mariculture fisheries. The International Oil Pollution Fund 1992(also known as the IOPC Fund 1992) has made up the Claims Manual to assist claimants by giving a general overview of the Fund's obligation to pay compensation. Section III of the Manual provides more specific information to assist claimants in presenting their claims concerning about economic losses in the fisheries, mariculture and fish processing sectors. The paper tries to suggest reform proposals for current etimation method of damages of maricluture fisheries contaminated by oil spillover using the population biology of living resources charaterized with age distribution.
Recently, in order to analyze the time series problems that occur in the nature word, and analyzing method using a neural electric network is being studied more than a typical statistical analysis method. A neural electric network has a generalization performance that is possible to estimate and analyze about non-learning data through the learning of a population. In this paper, after collecting weather datum that was collected from 1987 to 1996 and learning a population established, it suggests the weather forecasting system for an estimation and analysis the future weather. The suggested weather forecasting system uses 28*30*1 neural network structure, raises the total learning numbers and accuracy letting the selecting concentration learning about the pattern, that is not collected, using the descending epsilon learning method. Also, the weather forecasting system, that is suggested through a comparative experiment of the typical time series analysis method shows more superior than the existing statistical analysis method in the part of future estimation capacity.
This article deals with an ecological-economic analysis of the 'Pasture Project of Kum River', which is the farming plan of mitten crabs using Jichun, a stream of the River Kum where the natural propagation of mitten crabs are blocked because of the estuary dam constructed in 1990. Toward analyzing the ecological and economic effects of the crab releasing and harvesting activities in Jichun, a two-stage cohort model of population dynamics with cannibalistic behaviors and density restrictions in biomathematics is adopted, despite of the current infertility in Kum, considering the opportunity of establishing dam fishways in the near future. This study moreover presents a method of parameter estimation especially with assuming a steady state of the ecosystem, and performs various analyses such as the risk measurement of climate change and the economic value of such fishways.
This paper presents a method for estimating the population variability distribution of the failure parameter (failure rate or failure probability) for each failure mode considered in PSA (Probabilistic Safety Assessment). We focus on the utilization of generic estimates from various industry compendia for the estimation. The estimates are complicated statistics of failure data from plants. When the failure data referred in two or more sources are overlapped, dependency occurs among the estimates provided by the sources. This type of problem is first addressed in this paper. We propose methods based on ML-II estimation in Bayesian framework and discuss the characteristics of the proposed estimators. The proposed methods are easy to apply in real field. Numerical examples are also provided.
This paper proposes a new algorithm classifing same hues in order toe estimate the spectral reflectance of object from 3 band color image information. To estimate the spectral reflectance of object, the conventional estimation methods are required of 5 or 9 band digital color values. The 5 or 9 band image acquisition systems are required of 5 or 3 times same work for color image acquisition process. To solve the above problems, we propose a new method that can be estimated spectra reflectance estimation of object. The proposed method is to classify same hues corresponding a color stimulus, by using hue angle and chroma vector of a color stimulus. The classified same hues are used as the population corresponding a color stimulus. The range of same hue is estimated by the cumulative proportional ration according to the number of basis function.
