In the present study, the seven primers BION-33, BION-34, BION-37, BION-41, BION-44, BION-45 and BION-42 generated the total number of loci, average number of loci per lane and specific loci in Hongseong, Yeosu and Goheung population of F. mutica, respectively. 7 primers generated 19 specific loci in the Hongseong population, 29.3 in the Yeosu population and 23.1 in the Goheung population, respectively. Especially, the decamer primer BION-37 generated 7 unique loci to each population, which were identifying each population, approximately 700 bp in Hongseong population. In this study, the dendrogram obtained by the seven primers indicates three genetic clusters: cluster 1 (HONGSEONG 01-HONGSEONG 07), cluster 2 (YEOSU 08-YEOSU 14) and cluster 3 (GOHEUNG 15-GOHEUNG 21). Among the twenty one cockles, the shortest genetic distance that displayed significant molecular differences was between individuals 17 and 19 from the Goheung population (genetic distance = 0.051), while the longest genetic distance among the twenty-one cockle individuals that displayed significant molecular differences was between individuals HONGSEONG no. 03 and YEOSU no. 12 (genetic distance = 0.616). Relatively, individuals of YEOSU population were fairly closely related to that of GOHEUNG population. Ultimately, PCR fragments revealed of in this study may be useful as a DNA marker the three geographic populations to distinguish.
Recently, the city development policies are being switched to the policies focusing on recession worldwide. Even though South Korea is also facing the phenomena that small and medium-sized cities are downsized because of a decrease in population and an aging society problem, there is lack of solutions and even they are still planning city development policies based on prospect of high growth. This study is featuring 4 viewpoints depending on shrinking population trend in 7 small and medium sized local cities, which are chosen as downsized cities. It is dealing with population peak, current population, 2030 population, and 2040 population viewpoints. And this study uses downsizing simulation that suggests optimum area that fits population and then shows visual check of the status of the small and medium sized local cities. The area of the small and medium sized local cities are expanded more than needs when they are on population peak point. However, they need only 20% to 25% of current area in 2030 and 2040. The most important thing is realizing the seriousness and facing up to the 'shrinking' phenomena that each small and medium-sized cities suffer. Therefore, this study has significance for presenting the status of small and medium-sized cities' problems in South Korea.

The objective of this study was to analyze the genotype of black-spotted pond frog (Pelophylax nigromaculatus) using seven microsatellite loci to quantify its genetic diversity and population structure throughout the spatial scale of basins of Han, Geum, Yeongsan, and Nakdong Rivers in South Korea. Genetic diversities in these four areas were compared using diversity index and inbreeding coefficient obtained from the number and frequency of alleles as well as heterozygosity. Additionally, the population structure was confirmed with population differentiation, Nei's genetic distance, multivariate analysis, and Bayesian clustering analysis. Interestingly, a negative genetic diversity pattern was observed in the Han River basin, indicating possible recent habitat disturbances or population declines. In contrast, a positive genetic diversity pattern was found for the population in the Nakdong River basin that had remained the most stable. Results of population structure suggested that populations of black-spotted pond frogs distributed in these four river basins were genetically independent. In particular, the population of the Nakdong River basin had the greatest genetic distance, indicating that it might have originated from an independent population. These results support the use of genetics in addition to designations strictly based on geographic stream areas to define the spatial scale of populations for management and conservation practices.
This paper is to study dynamics of populations of religions. As human population is a crucial source of social dynamics, the religious population is a driving force that changes political and cultural landscape of society. Although many christian scholars have reported important causal factors in changing population of christian world, there are few studies on the dynamics of religious population in system dynamics. This paper interprets these dynamic mechanisms in terms of feedback loops and constructs a basic system dynamic model to forecast future trend of religious population in Korean society.
In this paper, we have studied the dynamical behaviour such as boundedness, local and global stabilities, bifurcation of a single species population affected by environmental toxicant and population toxicant. We have also studied the effect of discrete delay of the environmental toxicant on the instantaneous growth rates of the population biomass and population toxicant due to incubation period. The length of delay preserving the stability is also estimated. Computer simulations are carried out to illustrate our analytical findings.
Population-level learning has traditionally been used to provide an explanation for the underlying mechanism of industry change. But it has yet to examine the impact on strategic decisions such as market entry. This conceptual paper aims to provide an insight into how population-level learning affects entry likelihood by acting as a tool for interpreting population-level changes. We study this in the context of the fast-paced mobile gaming industry where population-level information is salient and develop a set of propositions with regard to the likelihood of entry.
This experiment has been carried out with a view to elucidating the distribution of Azotobacter and their population size in rhizosphere and sea and designed ro compare the results with some environmental factors. Results of the experiment are summarized as follows: 1) It was observed that the population sizes of Azotobacter were decided upon the moisture content of soil and that the soil pH was one of the most impertant factors influencing the distribution of Azotobacter. 2)Population sizes of Azotobacter in rhizosphere were changed in accordance with the kinds of vegetation on soil: The rhizosphere where bamboo, corn, legume, and oak inhabit showed the largest population size of Azotobacter. On the other hand, rhizosphere of ginseng revealed no Azotobacter. However, the largest population of general fungi were measured at the rhizosphere. 3)Comparing the population sizes of general microbes in rhizosphere with those of non-rhizosphere, the population sizes of microbes in rhizosphere are larger than those of non-rhizosphere. 4)In coastal environments, population sizes of Azotobacter in surface water of sea are similar to those of the soil(mud) of tidal land. But the sizes are generally smaller than those of terrestrial soils.
Changing patterns of population densities in urban centers are different between Western countries and non-Western countries. Although Seoul is located in a non-Western country, the result of this study shows that its pattern of population density falls into the category of Western cities. Through the examination of three population density gradient models, it is clear that no model can precisely explain the population distribution of Seoul over time. Some of the models partly indicate the actual population distrisbution. The Clark model is appropriate to denote population distribution in the center of Seoul at an early stage in development. The Sherratt model cannot adequately explain the population distribution of Seoul.
