로큰롤 패션 (Rock'n'roll Fashion)에 관한 연구 (A Study on Rock'n'roll Fashion)

  • The objective of this treatise is to study the effect which rock'n'roll had on fashion through the fashion of rock'n'roll stars and contemporary youngsters. The United states of America in the 1950's when rock'n'roll came into existence was an opulent and luxurious period. People's spare time increased and teenagers who grew up in oppulence after World War II emlerged. It was rock'n'roll that comprised the background of their culture. Rock'n'roll music, which was in the mixed form of Negro's rhythm and blues, and country -and-western of Southern hillbilly Rock'n'roll was expressed as a 'culture', characterized by both the luxurious and oppulent culture and the'anti-establishment' defying it. This cultural characteristic emerged as at once the conservative fashion following the contemporary fashion and the anti-establishment fashion in the rock'n'roll fashion. Therefore, the rock'n'roll fashion influenced by popular music became one momentum of including popular music among factors affecting the twentieth-century modern fashion.

Influence of Cultural Activities on Korean Youth Fashion From 1997 to 2004

  • This study aims to investigate various cultural activities of the Korean youth including the subcultural and popular cultural activities and their characteristics and influences on the youth fashion during the period 1996-2004. This study employs a qualitative approach based on the previous discussions of relevant literatures dealing with Korean youth culture and their fashion styles. The result of the study shows that the most prominent characteristic in youth fashion of the period was 'bricolage.' The appearance of 'Seotaiji' and the activities of his group laid the cornerstone of youth culture in the early 1990's. The influence of postmodernism changed the conventional sexism and androgynous outfit thrived. The androgynous effect also had strong influence on men's fashion in what turned out to be Metro-Sexual in early 2004. During the period 2000-2004 the postmodernism regained its popularity both in culture and fashion. 'Body' was also an important part of youth culture and has become the most popular and prevalent word of this era. At the same time the 'Well-Being' and sports look were the new trend of youth fashion. Sports look, also known as Caports, is one of these new trends and the most important youth fashion style like mix & match reformation. The youth became more and more aware of the body image and were interested in fashion as well. This trend awareness of their body and Well-Being image as well as their inclination to the fashion in the youth is expected to continue. Therefore the fashion industry, as their marketing strategy, needs to analyze the characteristics of the cultural trends among the youth and to prepare for the future need of youth fashion.

아티젠을 위한 파티웨어 디자인 개발 (Development of Party Fashion for Artygen)

  • The 21st century is the age of culture and sensitivity. As the interest in the art and culture grows, Artygen who prefers artistic designs grow in number. The desire to enjoy life from the increase of leisure time and financial afford ability created a new trend of party culture. This study analyzes the characteristics of Artygen who pursues artistic sense and sensitivity and suggests party-wear designs that please Artygen and accentuate individuality and personal preferences in a party, which is a type of popular entertainment these days. Through literature review, the background of Artygen and party was examined; First, in order to analyze the feature of art designs, photos of products that were in fashion from 2007 to 2009, (during which the term, 'Artygen', was coined) were collected. Second, in order to analyze the party-wear designs, photos of party-wear in wine party and club party popular among young people in the 20~30's were collected. Through the analysis, the party-wears targeting Artygen was developed based on the characteristics of popular art designs. The results of this study were as follows. First, from the result of analyzing the art design shown in product, casual, romantic, modern, dynamic and gorgeous images were. Second, art design shown in fashion, casual, romantic, chic, dynamic and gorgeous images were. Third, in wine party, romantic, elegant, gorgeous and formal images were in order and in club party, casual, gorgeous, chic and romantic images were in order. Fourth, the study displayed design by connecting aesthetic factor of artistic design to 2 wine party-wear of romantic and gorgeous images and 3 club party dresses of casual, gorgeous and chic images.

Anatomizing Popular YouTube Channels of English-speaking Countries

  • YouTube, the online video streaming platform, has become popular and influential around the globe. Due to the development of science and technology, people without expertise in filming can now easily produce their videos with unique content. Many people are more eager to become a popular YouTube creator because they can earn money by placing commercials or Products in Placement (PPL) in their video clips. However, it is yet unknown what genres of YouTube videos are popular. YouTube creators have their channels where they upload videos of a certain type of genre. This study investigates video genres of the top 250 YouTube channels in English-speaking countries (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia) using Social Blade, which is a research website. The ranking is set based on the number of times people watched a video ("Video Views"). We handsomely analyze popular genres of the channels and also the YouTube ecosystem, and it will be meaningful for today's new media era.

  • 본고에서는 부르디외의 이론을 바탕으로 취향(또는 기호)이 개인에게 내재되어 있는 것의 발현이 아니라 살아온 환경 및 아비투스에 의해 결정지어지며, 이러한 취향(또는 기호)은 모방과 동조의 자연스러운 흐름으로 이어진다고 본다. 이 흐름이 바로 다수의 승인으로부터 정당성을 확보한 유행이라 할 수 있다. 그러나 유행의 본질은 헤게모니적 역학 관계 안에 존재하며, 서로의 (계급 문화적) 동질성과 차이점을 결정짓는 데에 있다. 이러한 점에서 유행이 유통되는 창구로서의 대중문화 역시 기득권에 정당성을 부여한다는 비판에서 자유로울 수 없다. 따라서 본고에서는 유행과 대중문화를 통한 지배 전략에 대한 경계를 늦추지 말아야 할 것과 이를 위한 인식의 전환을 요구한다. 이 과정에서 최근 디지털 첨단 기술의 발전에 따른 팬덤문화 및 대안문화는 대중의 상호간 소통을 통한 대중문화 형성의 주체성과 역동성을 기대하게 한다.

  • This purpose of this study is to research on the influence on the creation of young generation's street fashion of pop stars focused on pop music given the fact that fashion can be created by popular culture in this multi-media era. Also, this study is to provide useful data for the activation of the creation of young fashion culture and the fashion industry through pop stars' fashion. 대중문화의 크로스오버와 콜라보레이션 유행에 따른 한국 공포영화에서의 가능성 (A Study on the Possibilities in Korean Horror Movies Due to Popular Culture Crossover and Collaboration Trends)

  • 요즘 시대의 화두는 바로 혁신과 융합이다. 혁신을 통해 융합이 탄생하고 융합을 통해 혁신이 이루어지니 융합이 곧 혁신이라고도 볼 수 있다. 대중문화에서 융합이라는 개념으로 쓰이는 크로스오버와 콜라보레이션(*크로스오버로 통칭)은 서로 다른 장르나 분야 간의 결합, 통합을 의미하며 최근 영화나 음악 등 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 크로스오버의 활용은 타 분야와의 경계를 허물고 자유롭고 다양한 시도를 통해 새로운 작품을 창조해 내는 데 도움을 준다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대중문화의 융합, 즉 크로스오버를 한국의 공포영화 장르와 연계하여 분석해본다. 현재 한국 공포영화는 90년대에서 2000년대 초반까지 인기를 끌다가 현재는 연속된 흥행 부진으로 인해 소수의 작품만이 나오는 실정이다. 하지만 본 연구 결과 한국 공포영화에서도 이미 크로스오버 시도는 시작되었고 몇몇 흥행한 작품들에서 크로스오버의 흔적이 강하게 발견되었다. 본 연구에서는 거기에서 더 나아가 <어벤저스> 같은 캐릭터 콜라보레이션까지 적용해서 한국 공포영화의 새로운 방향성까지 제시해본다.

  • 전 세계에 많은 영향을 미친 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠는 사회적 발전의 원동력을 제공한 콘텐츠로, 문화적 자산으로서 충분한 보존 가치를 가지고 있다. 그러나 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠의 장기 보존에 대한 인식은 아직 부족하고 디지털 아카이빙의 진행도 본격화되지 않는 상황이다. 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠의 디지털 아카이빙을 위해서는 먼저 콘텐츠의 개념, 특징, 구조, 형식, 매체, 다른 콘텐츠와의 관련성 등을 정확하게 파악해야 한다. 특히, 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠의 경우, 여러 기관에서 다매체, 다양한 유형으로 제작되고 하나의 콘텐츠에서 새로운 콘텐츠가 생성 및 재제작되기 때문에, 콘텐츠의 다양화, 복잡한 콘텐츠 간의 관계를 파악하기 위한 정리 및 분석이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠의 디지털 아카이빙을 위한 기초연구로, 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠에 대한 개념, 특성, 보존 대상에 대해 분석하여 정리하였다. 그리고 디지털 아카이브(시스템/기관)를 조사하여 한류 대중문화 콘텐츠와 콘텐츠의 디지털 아카이브의 현황을 살펴보고, 이에 따른 문제 요인을 토대로 기본방안을 제시하였다.

중국 내 한국 대중문화콘텐츠와 방한의도의 관계 (Study of the Relationship between Korean Popular Cultural Contents and Intention to visit Korea: The Case of Chinese)

  • Korean popular cultural content, "Hallyu", is prevalent in China, and those have changed some life styles of the Chinese people, who are crazy with it. Korean popular cultural content is more than a cultural phenomenon, it has enhanced the national image of the country and the tourism department, especially those popular products which are closely related to our daily life. From this point of views, the current study is to identify the relationship between Korean popular cultural contents, Korean image, and visiting intention to Korea. The questionnaire takes a volunteering method, and analyzed the general characteristics through SPSS21.0. Factor analysis and reliability analysis are provided in order to test the reliability and validity. As the result of the study, Korean popular cultural contents can enhance economic and culture image of Korea, and those are the main factor for the potential customers from China to visit Korea. This study can provide information for maintaining popular cultural contents and gives an implication for enhancing the Korean tourism policy.
