국내 생태계 유형별 탄소 저장 및 거동 산정 연구 현황 분석 (Estimation of Carbon Storages and Fluxes by Ecosystem Type in Korea)

  • 생태계는 탄소순환에 있어 매우 중요한 탄소 저장고이다. 기후변화가 점점 심화됨에 따라, 생태계의 이러한 기능을 활용하여 기후변화를 완화하려는 노력들이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내 생태계를 대상으로 생태계 유형(산림, 농경지, 습지, 초지, 정주지) 및 탄소저장고별(지상부·지하부 생체량, 고사목, 낙엽, 토양유기탄소 및 생태계 전체) 탄소 저장 및 거동과 관련된 연구를 목록화 하고 분석하였다. 또한, 선행연구 결과를 모아 각 생태계 유형과 탄소저장고를 대상으로 탄소 저장 및 거동량의 평균값을 산정하였다. 그 결과, 대부분의(66%) 국내 탄소 저장·거동 관련 연구가 산림에서 수행된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 산림에서 수행된 연구 결과를 토대로 탄소저장고별 저장량을 분석한 결과, 식생의 지상부(4,166.66gC m-2)와 지하부(3,880.95gC m-2)와 토양(4,203.16gC m-2)에 많은 양의 탄소가 저장되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 특히 산림 지하부에 많은 탄소가 저장되어 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 다른 생태계 유형의 경우, 데이터의 제한으로 탄소저장고별 저장·거동량은 확인이 불가능하였다. 다만, 토양유기탄소 저장의 경우 산림과 초지의 데이터가 비교 가능하였는데, 두 생태계가 상대적으로 비슷한 탄소의 양을 저장하고 있는 것으로 나타났다(각각 4,203.16 gC m-2, 4,023.23 gC m-2). 본 연구를 통하여, 상대적으로 다양한 생태계 유형에서의 탄소 연구가 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다.

만액식 증발기용 성형가공관의 풀비등 성능 (Pool Boiling Performance of Enhanced Tubes for a Flooded Evaporator)

  • In this study, pool boiling performance of Turbo/B-type metal-formed tubes was investigated. Tubes with three different cavity gap width(0.04 mm, 0.07 mm, 0.1 mm) were manufactured and tested using R-11, R-123 and R-134a. Tests were conducted at two different saturation temperatures $4.4^{\circ}C$ and $26.7^{\circ}C.$ Heat flux was varied from 10 kW/m2 to 50 kW/m2. It was found that optimum gap width varied for different refrigerants. For low-pressure refrigerants such as R-11 or R-123, optimum gap width was 0.07 mm. For high-pressure refrigerant R-134a, however, the optimum value was 0.1 mm. Compared with the heat transfer performance of the smooth tube, the metal-formed tubes enhanced the heat transfer coefficients significantly - 6.5 times for R-11, 6.0 times for R-123 and 5.0 times for R-134a (at $4.4^{\circ}C$ saturation temperature and 40 kW/m2 heat flux), which are comparable with the performance of foreign products. The heat transfer coefficients of R-134a were larger than those of R-11 or R-123, and they increased as the saturation temperature increased.

침구와 약침에 대한 중개연구 현황 (Current situation of Translational research on Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Pharmacopuncture)

  • Objectives : Our primary objective lies in understanding the current landscape of translational research on acupuncture, moxibustion and pharmacopuncture. Methods : We searched our own selection of keywords of acupuncture, moxibustion and pharmacopuncture and translational research from three overseas databases (Pubmed, Scopus, Medicine) and four domestic databases (DBpia, KISS, Riss4u, Korea Med). Results : We have chosen 41 articles in total-40 articles on acupunture, 6 article on moxibustion(5 articles were duplicated in use in each category). Origin-wise, 48.8 %/24.8 %/17.0 % of our articles pool came from USA/China/Korea, respectively. UK, Austria, Thailand and Italy contributed the rest of our article pool. For those articles written in USA and China, review articles were the most common type. For the US articles, all 10 review articles were non-systematic reviews, while, for China's contribution, one out of 4 review articles were systematic review. Type-wise, our research pool's breakdown is as follows ; 17 review articles, 11 experimental research, 2 randomized controlled trials(RCT), 1 clinical trial, 4 conference reports, 1 letter, 1 study protocol and 4 uncategorized. Topic-wise, brain-neurology was most frequently referred with 8 articles, followed by parkinson's disease (3 articles) and epilepsy (2 articles). Conclusion : 1. In terms of research submission articles, Korea appears to be lacking translational research on acupuncture, moxibustion and pharmacopuncture, compared to USA and China, in our view. 2. Unlike the cases of USA and China, most of Korean translational research is limited to doing a T1 level of translational research. In order to bring bench-to-bedside to light. we believe, there should be more studies, and thereby a certain level of activation, to the T2 level of translational research in Korea. 3. Further, in our view there should be more efforts to improve article quality at the T1 level of translational research, which eventually becomes the fundamentals of the next level of research (i.e. T2 research), as well as to increase the number of research submissions, going forward.

짚신벌레의 성물질 합성에 대한 연구 (Studies on the mating type substance in Paramecium aurelia)

  • Sexual reproduction of paramecia have been accomplished through conjugation between individuals which have opposite mating type substances on their cilia when they were starved. Using selfing clone in which mating takes place, I examined whether a mating type change in indicidual cells required new protein and new mRNA synthesis or not and also shether there is a precursor relationship between both of the complementary mating type substances in their synthetic pathway. I found that 1. Mating type change needs new protein(s) and new mRNA synthesis. 2. Mating type substances are synthesized sequentially from mating type XIII to XIV 3. There might be a common precursor pool from which the mating type XIII substnace is synthesized and then complementary mating type XIV is fromed by addition of small group to the mating type XIII substance.

Influence of Diet Induced Changes in Rumen Microbial Characteristics on Gas Production Kinetics of Straw Substrates In vitro

  • The effect of diets varying in level and source of nitrogen (N) and fermentable organic matter on dynamic characteristics of microbial populations in rumen liquor and their impact on substrate fermentation in vitro was studied. The diets tested were straw alone, straw+concentrate mixture and straw+urea molasses mineral block (UMMB) lick. The same diets were taken as substrates and tested on each inoculum collected from the diets. Diet had no effect on the amino acid (AA) composition of either bacteria or protozoa. Differences among the diets in intake, source of N and OM affected bacterial and protozoal characteristics in the rumen. Upper asymptote of gas production (Y$\alpha$) had a higher correlation with bacterial pool size and production rate than with protozoal pool size and production rate. Among the parameters of the gas production model, Y$\alpha$ and lag time in total gas has showed significant (p<0.01) correlation with bacterial characteristics. Though the rate constant of gas production significantly differed (p<0.01) between diet and type of straw, it was least influenced by the microbial characteristics. The regression coefficient of diet and type of straw for Y$\alpha$ indicated that the effect of diet on Y$\alpha$ was threefold higher than that of the straw. As microbial characteristics showed higher correlation with Y$\alpha$, and diet had more influence on the microbial characteristics, gas production on a straw diet could be used effectively to understand the microbial characteristics.

고층건물의 수직방향 연기거동에 미치는 발코니의 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Effect of the Balcony on the Vertical Smoke Movement of the High Rise Building)

  • The present study investigates the effect of balcony on external smoke movement of high rise building through the fire tests of the 1/10 reduced model scale using Froude scaling. A hexane pool fire is used to examine the smoke movement for various opening sizes of balcony and temperature distributions are measured by T-type thermocouples. Also, hydrogen bubble technique is applied to visualize the smoke movement near the balcony. Measured temperatures of the closed balcony is 2.5 times higher than those of the open balcony because the external smoke in case of the closed balcony rise along the vertical wall. The maximum vertical temperature of partially closed balcony is similar with fully closed balcony and mean temperature inside of balcony increases as opening size of balcony decreases. The experimental results show that the balcony space plays an important roles in preventing fire propagation and cooling of smoke layer. In order to ensure the fire safety in high rise building design, a series of systematic researches are required to examine the various type of balconies.

Calibration of digital wide-range neutron power measurement channel for open-pool type research reactor

  • As the modernization of the nuclear instrumentation system progresses, research reactors have adopted digital wide-range neutron power measurement (DWRNPM) systems. These systems typically monitor the neutron flux across a range of over 10 decades. Because neutron detectors only measure the local neutron flux at their position, the local neutron flux must be converted to total reactor power through calibration, which involves mapping the local neutron flux level to a reference reactor power. Conventionally, the neutron power range is divided into smaller subranges because the neutron detector signal characteristics and the reference reactor power estimation methods are different for each subrange. Therefore, many factors should be considered when preparing the calibration procedure for DWRNPM channels. The main purpose of this work is to serve as a reference for performing the calibration of DWRNPM systems in research reactors. This work provides a comprehensive overview of the calibration of DWRNPM channels by describing the configuration of the DWRNPM system and by summarizing the theories of operation and the reference power estimation methods with their associated calibration procedure. The calibration procedure was actually performed during the commissioning of an open-pool type research reactor, and the results and experience are documented herein.

풀형 고속증식로의 과도 현상을 모사하는 Fast Running System Code개발 (Fast Running System Code Development to Simulate Transient Behavior of Pool-Type LMFBRs)

  • 풀형 고속증식로에서의 과도 현상을 모사할 수 있는 전산 모델이 개발되었다. 이 전산 모델 SIM-FARP는 어떠한 펌프로의 전원 상실사고나 완전한 강제냉각 상실사고, 그리고 자연순환 과정 등을 모사할 수 있는 Fast Running Computer Code이다. 이에 따라 8개의 지배방정식이 유도되었으며, 이8개의 미분 방정식을 풀기 위해 Runge-Kutta의 수치해석방법이 사용되었다. 개발된 전산 프로그램은 두 가지 예제에 적용되었는데 이는 Super-Phenix-I에서의 펌프에의 전원상실사고 및 원자로가 정지되지 않는 상태에서의 외부전원 상실사고이다.
