Grapefruit Seed Extract와 Ascorbic Acid의 혼합 처리가 콩나물 변패 미생물과 저장 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Grapefruit Seed Extract and Ascorbic Acid on the Spoilage Microorganisms and Keeping Quality of Soybean Sprouts)

  • The antimicrobial effect of mixed solutions of grapefruit seed extract(250ppm) and ascorbic acid(1%) on the spoilage microorganisms such as Staphylococcus epidermis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas syringae, Candida albicans and Corynebacterium xerosis isolated from the spoiled soybean sprouts were investigated. Cell wall and membrane were partially destroyed and the contents of the destroyed cell were exuded after treatment. Packages with 30 m cast polypropylene(CPP), 16 m polyolefin(RD 106) and 10 m high density polyethylene(HDPE) were applied for soybean sprouts dipped in mixed solutions respectively. Oxygen and carbon dioxide concentration inside packages were dependent on the kind of films during storage at 5oC. The antimicrobial activity of mixed solutions was maintained for 5 days at CPP package. Package with HDPE showed a severe browning than the others after 5 days. Ascorbic acid content of mixed solution treatment was higher than that of control for each package.

Competitive Phase Separation in a Crystallizable Polymer Solution

  • The structure formation by liquid-liquid(L-L) phase separation coupled with crystallization in isotactic polypropylene(i-PP). solutioos was investigated by a temperature jump experiment. A series of dialkyl phthalates with a different number of carbon atoms in the alkyl chain was used to control the interaction between polymer and solvent. Various thermal quench conditions were applied to the i-PP solutions to control systematically L-L phase separation and crystallization. A slow crystallizatina elongates the liquid droplets in the radial direction of a spherulite. A rapid crystallization under the deep quench locks-in the growth of L-L phase separation. These results indicate that the extent of L-L phase separation which exists below melting point can be successfully controlled through the proper selection of solvent and thermal conditions.

  • The first thing in developing injection molding and extrusion with microcellular foaming process is to get a grip on one phase state's rheology of gas and polymer solution. Understanding rheology is essential to design mold or die. and it is so important to control the condition of process. Also, this data is got the utmost out of simulation carrying out. In this paper, we will see the measurement of rheology in one phase that mixed polypropylene which contains talc with carbon dioxide of super critical fluid state, and will compare its result with the simulation result.

탄소 한외여과막 및 광촉매 코팅 폴리프로필렌 구의 혼성 수처리: 물 역세척 시 유기물 및 광산화, 흡착의 영향 (Hybrid Water Treatment of Carbon Ultrafiltration Membrane and Polypropylene Beads Coated with Photocatalyst: Effect of Organic Materials, Photo-oxidation, and Adsorption in Water Back-flushing)

  • 탄소 한외여과막 및 광촉매 혼성 수처리를 위해 관형 여과막 외부와 원통형 막 모듈 내부 사이 공간에 광촉매를 충전하였다. 광촉매는 PP (polypropylene) 구에 이산화티타늄 분말을 플라즈마 화학증착 공정으로 코팅한 것이다. 휴믹산과 카올린 모사용액을 대상으로 막오염을 최소화하기 위해 10분 주기로 10초 동안 물 역세척을 시행하였다. 기존 결과와 동일하게 휴믹산을 10 mg/L부터 2 mg/L로 변화시킴에 따라, 막오염에 의한 저항($R_f$)이 감소하여 2 mg/L에서 최대 총여과부피 ($V_T$)를 얻었다. 탁도와 휴믹산의 처리효율은 각각 98.9%와 88.7% 이상이었다. UF 및 UF + $TiO_2$, UF + $TiO_2$ + UV 공정의 처리 분율 결과, 광촉매 흡착과 광산화에 의해 탁도는 거의 처리되지 않았으나, 광촉매 흡착 및 광산화에 의한 휴믹산 처리 분율은 각각 2.5%, 12.3%이었다. 기존 결과와 비교하면, 분리막의 재질과 기공의 크기에 따라 광촉매 흡착과 광산화에 의한 휴믹산의 처리 분율이 다르게 나타났다. 공정이 단순화될수록 180분 운전 후 막오염 저항($R_{f,180}$)은 증가하였고, 최종 투과선속($J_{180}$)은 소폭 감소하였다.

친유성 아크릴 수지로 처리된 폴리프로필렌 편직물의 유흡착 성질 (Oil Absorptive Properties of Polypropylene Knit Fabric Treated with Oleophilic Acrylic Resin)

  • Ethyl acrylate(EA) 혹은 lauryl acrylate(LA)와 hydroxy ethyl acrylate(HEA)를 용액중합법에 의해 공중합하여 2종의 친유성 아크릴 전구중합체를 얻은 다음, 여기에 가교제로서 hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI)를 첨가 배합하여, 폴리프로필렌 velvet 편직물에 통상의 pad-dry-cure방법으로 수지가공을 실시하여 유흡착재를 제조하였다. 가교 아크릴 수지(EA-HEA-HDI)의 겔화도는 전체 acrylate에 대한 HEA의 사용량과 가교제인 HDI의 농도가 증가할수록 증가하였다. 얻어진 유흡착재의 수지 부착율에 따른 흡유능과 유보유율은 시험유로서 n-decane, toluene, 대두유, 윤활유, 벙커C유를 사용하여 평가 하였고 대두유를 제외하고 사용된 모든 오일에 걸쳐 흡유능에 미치는 최적의 부착율은 약 6%로 나타났다. 한편 유보유율은 부착율의 증가에 따라 증가하였고 더욱이 고비중, 고점도 오일의 경우에서 전반적으로 보다 증가된 값을 나타내었다. 또한 흡유능은 LA-HEA-HDI로 처리된 유흡착재가 EA-HEA-HDI의 그것에 비하여 높았으며, 아크릴 수지의 측쇄 알킬기의 길이가 증가할수록 보다 높은 흡유능을 나타내었다.

고농도 $CO_2$와 Ascorbic acid 처리가 신선절단 사과의 갈변에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Combined Treatment with High $CO_2$ Concentration and Ascorbic acid on Browning of Fresh-cut 'Fuji' Apples)

  • 신선절단 '후지' 사과의 고품질 유지를 위한 방법을 개발하기 위하여, 고농도 $CO_2$와 ascorbic acid 처리가 저장 중 품질변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 아무것도 처리하지 않은 사과(대조구)와 고농도 $CO_2$를 처리한 사과를 8조각으로 절단하여($CO_2$ 단일처리구) 1% ascorbic acid에 1분 동안 침지($CO_2$와 ascorbic acid 병용처리구), $CO_2$ 처리 없이 ascorbic acid에 침지(ascorbic acid 단일처리구)를 0.03 mm polypropylene 필름에 밀봉 포장하여 $10^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 품질 특성의 변화를 측정하였다. $CO_2$ 단일처리구와 $CO_2$와 ascorbic acid 병용 처리구에서 갈변도의 변화율이 가장 낮았다. $CO_2$를 처리하지 않은 구는 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 조직이 무르거나 갈색반점이 발생하는데 반해 $CO_2$ 처리구에서는 관찰되지 않았다. 가용성 고형분 함량이나 pH, 포장 내 기제 조성 등에서는 처리구별 유의적인 차이가 없었으며 총균수는 $CO_2$ 단일 처리구가 대조구에 비해 총균수가 적은 것으로 나타났으나 저장 7일차부터 모든 처리구에서 급격히 증가하였다. 따라서 고농도 $CO_2$ 처리는 단일처리거나 ascorbic acid와의 병용처리는 신선절단 사과의 갈변과 연화 저해에 효과가 있음이 확인되었다.

  • Fibers of microbial polyesters, poly(3-hydroxy butyrate) (PHB) and poly(3-hydroxy butyrate-co-3-hydroxy valerate) (HB-co-HV) were prepared by electrospinning method. The obtained fibers were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, and oil absorption. The formation of fibers was strongly dependent on a concentration of solution. At a low concentration, the fibers contained beads which is from aggregation of polymer due to short evaporation time. The fine fibers with $2-5{\mu}m$ diameter were obtained at 20 wt% concentration. The contact angle measurement showed that the fiber had higher water contact angle than the film due to the lotus-like effect. Oil absorbency showed that the fiber had higher than the film. Specially, the HB-co-HV fiber which was spinned from 20 wt% absorbed 65% oil which is much higher than that of a normal polypropylene-based oil paper.

케이폭의 구조 및 흡유 특성 (Structure and Oil Sorption Capacity of Kapok Fiber [Ceibapentandra (L.) Gaertn.])

  • The structure of kapok fiber was characterized using FTIR and $^{13}C$-NMR spectrometers, elemental analyzer, x-ray diffractometer, SEM and IMT I-Solution ver 7.5. The kapok has a hollow tube shape and is composed of cellulose I with crystallinity of 47.95%. To develop novel oil-sorbent materials necessary to avoid the environmental pollution by spilled oil, the oil absorption capacity of various fibers such as kapok, polypropylene(PP), acryl, bamboo, cotton, rayon and wool fibers is compared in this study. The kapok fiber had the highest oil absorption capacity among the fibers and its water absorption capacity was the least. The kapok fiber selectively absorbed significant amounts of oils (43g/g of fiber for kerosene, 65g/g of fiber for soybean oil), which might be due to higher hydrophobicity of the kapok fiber, suggesting that kapok fiber may have high potential as excellent oil-absorbent materials.

Liquid-liquid extraction process for gas separation from water in polymeric membrane: Mathematical modeling and simulation

  • In this study, application of polypropylene hollow fiber membrane contactors for $CO_2$ removal from water in liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) mode was simulated. For this purpose, a steady state 2D mathematical model was developed. In this model axial and radial diffusion was considered to $CO_2$ permeation through the hollow fibers. $CO_2$ laden water is fed at a constant flow rate into the lumen side, permeated through the pores of membrane and at the end of this process, $CO_2$ solution in the lumen side was extracted by means of aqueous diethanolamine (DEA) and chemical reaction. The simulation results were validated with the experimental data and it was found a good agreement between them, which confirmed the reliability of the proposed model. Both simulation and experimental results confirmed the reduction in the percentage of $CO_2$ removal by increment of feed flow rate.

Silane계 유무기 하이브리드 적용 합금도금강판 내식성 향상 코팅 기술 개발 (Development of anti-corrosive coating technique for alloy plated steel sheet using silane based organic-inorganic hybrid materials)

  • Silane surface treatments have been developed as an alternative for toxic and carcinogenic chromate-based treatments for years. It is consistently observed that ultra-thin films offer excellent corrosion protection as well as paint adhesion to metals. The silane performance is comparable to, or in some cases better than, that of chromate layers. Based on the tetra-ethylorthosilicate(TEOS) and methlyl trieethoxysilane(MTES), inorganic sol was synthesized and formed hybrid networks with $SiO_2$ nano particle and polypropylene glycol(PPG) on Zn alloyed steel surface. According to SST results, addition of 10nm and 50nm $SiO_2$ nanoparticle in synthesized solution improved anti-corrosion property by its shear stress relaxation effect during curing process. Also, SST results were shown that anti-corrosive property was affected by the amounts of organic compounds.
