In this paper, we study some of the factorization aspects of rational multicyclic monoids, that is, additive submonoids of the nonnegative rational numbers generated by multiple geometric sequences. In particular, we provide a complete description of the rational multicyclic monoids M that are hereditarily atomic (i.e., every submonoid of M is atomic). Additionally, we show that the sets of lengths of certain rational multicyclic monoids are finite unions of multidimensional arithmetic progressions, while their unions satisfy the Structure Theorem for Unions of Sets of Lengths. Finally, we realize arithmetic progressions as the sets of distances of some additive submonoids of the nonnegative rational numbers.

Recently the issue of brand equity has emerged as one of the most critical areas for fashion marketing management. Despite strong interest in the subject, there is little evidence of how brand equity is created by marketing mix elements and what their effects are. This study explores the influences of marketing mix elements on the brand equity of apparel products. Based on a literature review, a conceptual model for the quality, design, price, advertisements, and brand leadership on consumer's view on brand equity through brand identification and brand values was formulated and tested. For comparative purposes, two basic casual brands are tested, one is Polo and the other is Giodano. The subjects were Korean .50 college women living in Seoul and Daejeon. Results showed that brand equity of casual brand is affected by quality, brand leadership, design, price, advertisements. Therefore marketers should develop the core element to position its brand strategy to create competitive advantages.

Recently GPS has been playing an increasingly important role in geodesy and positioning, for example, car navigation system, surveying, ITS(intelligent transport systems), LBS(Location Based Service) and so on. For telematics application, reception conditions of GPS signal are important. In some situation, such as in areas between buildings, metropolitan areas or areas with large skyscraper complexes, there are situations whereby the satellite signal is seriously restricted by various obstacles. Before the signal arrives at the receiver, it may be blocked, reflected, delayed, attenuated or scattered by terrestrial obstacles such as buildings. In this paper, we present satellite imagery data for telematics application. Therefore, for propriety of this studies, we made a GPS satellite visibility experiments in Bun-Dang on same time. This paper describes an approach to calculate building level using 0.6m, 1m, 6.6m resampling aerial polo imagery in stead of the satellite imagery and make a comparative study of accuracy. This paper tests the simulation of GPS signal using the building level.

The purpose of this study is to find out more rational way to manage clothing. The study is based on a survey of daily clothing practices. 112 female college students who are majoring clothing, textiles, and/or home economics have responded to the questionnaires. With the samples, frequency, factor analysis, discriminant analysis, ANOVA, and Scheffe test are pursued respectively. Main results of the survey analysis could be summarized as follows : 1. Female college students are found to possess 70 units on average. They possess more of casual clothes such as polo·T shirts, casual pants, and casual shirts (from the highest frequency in order). They possess less of formal clothes such as one-piece and two-pieces (from the lowest frequency in oder). 2. It is found that 12 per cent of the possessed clothings are not used at all during the year. The unused rate is higher for the formal suits while it is lower for the casuals. 3. The possession pattern is affected by clothintg life style factors : brand and economic factors for the casuals ; fashion and individuality factors for the formals. 4. The possession pattern is also affected by the purchasing behavior factors, purchasing price among others.

The objectives of this study are as follows. First, we try to find out if self-congruity between brand personality and self-image overall has significant influence on the attitude toward brand. Second, we figured out whether functional, experiential, and symbolic values have influence on the attitude toward brand. Third, we figured out if self-congruity between brand personality and self-image has significant influence on a functional, experiential, and symbolic values. Main results are as follows. Consumers tend to prefer certain brand of casual wears in accordance with their cognized brand-personality and self-image. Functional values of Bean-Pole, Hazzys, and Tommy's except Polo have positive influence on attitude toward brand. Experiential and symbolic values of all the four brands have positive influence on attitude toward brand. However, the influences of self-congruity between brand personality and self-image on individual brand varied.

We study emotion regulation in a distant CABLe (Collaborative Argumentation Based-Learning) setting at university. We analyze how students achieve the group task of synthesizing the literature on a topic through scientific argumentation on the institutional Moodle's forum. Distinguishing anticipatory from reactive emotional regulation shows how essential it is to establish and maintain a constructive working climate in order to make the best out of disagreement both on social and cognitive planes. We operationalize the analysis of anticipatory emotional regulation through an analytical grid applied to the data of two groups of students facing similar disagreement. Thanks to sharp anticipatory regulation, group 1 solved the conflict both on the social and the cognitive plane, while group 2 had to call out for external regulation by the teacher, stuck in a cyclically resurfacing dispute. While the institutional digital environment did afford anticipatory emotional regulation, reactive emotional regulation rather occurred through complementary informal and synchronous communication tools. Based on these qualitative case studies, we draw recommendations for fostering distant CABLe at university.

Friction losses in complex tribo-technical system are revealed primarily through their effect on the operating temperature level. In order to assess the influence of the oil formulation on the temperature level comprehensive tests were run in a model test apparatus consisting of a special adapter for the 4-ball test rig. More than ten with different formulations (different base oils, additive packages and viscosity modifiers) were tested, The resulting temperature levels varied by nearly 25 %. The objective of this model testing is to assess the influence of the oil formulation on the operating temperature of vehicle manual transmission. The correlation to the real tribotechnical system was confirmed by a VW Polo transmission test.

Carpets are a useful tool for highlighting the cultural uniqueness of a region because their characteristic usage often reveals distinctive natural features of the place or the unique cultural identity of a group. Investigating anecdotes and associated patterns found in three medieval trans-Eurasian travelogues, this paper focuses on observations made by the Chinese Buddhist monk, Faxian, the Sunni pilgrim and scholar, Ibn Battuta, and Marco Polo, the Venetian merchant examining their thoughts, observations, and perspectives on carpet-related customs in their experienced contexts. In particular, this manuscript touches on the controversies, impacts, and narratives associated with carpet practices observed in each travel writer's context respectively, concluding that each traveler shows several things in common rather than showing different patterns depending on the characteristics of their religion. Overall, they observed the uses of carpets according to their jobs and travel purposes and appropriately detailed related episodes if the intended purpose and context matched the uses.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of feeding diets supplemented with ${\beta}-glucan$ products on the performance, small intestinal microflora and immune response in laying hens. The ${\beta}-glucan$ products used in the experiment were $BetaPolo^{(R)}$ ; soluble ${\beta}-glucan$ of microbial cell wall origin, $HiGlu^{(R)}$ ; microbial cell wall origin, $OGlu^{(R)}$ ; oat origin, $BGlu^{(R)}$ ; barley origin. A total of 720 Hy-Line Brown laying hens of 40wks old were divided into 5 dietary treatments : T1 ; Control( C), T2 ; $BetaPolo^{(R)}$, T3 ; $HiGlu^{(R)}$, T4 ; $OGlu^{(R)}$, T5 ; $BGlu^{(R)}$. Each treatment was replicated 4 times with 36 birds/replicate housed in 2 bird cages, and arranged according to completely randomized block design. Feeding trial lasted 40ds under 16 h lighting regimens. There were significant differences among treatments in hen-house egg production feed intake and feed conversion. HiGlu treatment was significantly higher than OGlu treatments in hen-house egg production. ${\beta}-glucan$ supplemented treatments were lower than the control in feed intake and feed conversion ratio. All ${\beta}-glucan$ supplemented treatments were significantly higher than the control in eggshell strength. Eggshell color and Haugh unit tended to be lower in the supplemented group than the control. IgY concentration was not significantly affected by treatments. At $5^{th}$ week of experiment, however, IgY concentration tended to increase in the supplemented groups. Among the leucocytes parameters, WBC, heterophil, lymphocytes, monocyte and eosinophil concentration were lower in the supplemented groups than those of the control. Among erythrocytes, HCT(hematocrit) and MCV(mean corpuscular volume) were significantly affected by treatment. MCV of supplemented groups were higher than that of the control. Immunoglobulin concentrations in the birds were not significantly different among treatments. However, IgA concentration tended to be low in the supplemented groups than the control. The cfu of small intestinal microflora were not significantly different among treatments, but that of Cl. perfringens tended to be lower than the control. The result of this experiment indicateted that feeding ${\beta}-glucan$ to laying hens improve feed conversion ratio and eggshell strength. Also intestinal microflora and immune responses are modified.

A pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) enhances the efficacy of several anticancer drugs. Doxorubicin (DOX) is an anticancer agent used to treat various malignancies, including breast cancer. This study examined whether a PEMF increases the anticancer effect of DOX on MCF-7 human breast cancer cells and elucidated the underlying mechanisms affected by PEMF stimulation in DOX-treated MCF-7 human breast cancer cells. A cotreatment with DOX and a PEMF potentiated the reduction in MCF-7 cell viability compared to the treatment with DOX alone. The PEMF elevated DOX-induced G1 arrest by affecting cyclin-dependent kinase 2 phosphorylation and the expression of G1 arrest-related molecules, including p53, p21, cyclin E2, and polo like kinase 1. In addition, PEMF increased the DOX-induced upregulation of proapoptotic proteins, such as Fas and Bcl-2-associated X, and the downregulation of antiapoptotic proteins, including myeloid leukemia 1 and survivin. PEMF promoted the DOX-induced activation of caspases-8, -9, and -7 and poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase cleavage in MCF-7 cells. In conclusion, PEMF enhances the anticancer activity in DOX-treated MCF-7 breast cancer cells by increasing G1 cell cycle arrest and caspase-dependent apoptosis. These findings highlight the potential use of a PEMF as an adjuvant treatment for DOX-based chemotherapy against breast cancer.
