고속도로 영업소지역에서의 비점오염물질 유출특성 (Characteristics of Non-point Pollutant from Highway Toll Gate Landuse)

  • 최근의 환경정책은 신설되는 도로에 대하여 비점오염저감시설 설치의무화를 요구하고 있다. 또한 도로건설시 및 유지관리시에는 발생가능한 비점오염물질을 예측하고 이를 저감할 수 있는 방향으로 노선의 계획 및 설계와 더불어 다양한 비점저감방안을 수립할 것을 요구하고 있다. 비점오염원 및 비점오염물질을 관리하기 위해서는 우선 유역의 토지이용도를 분석하여 강우시 배출되는 오염물질의 종류와 양을 산정해야 한다. 특히 도로의 경우, 발생되는 비점오염물질의 원단위가 별도로 존재하지 않고 대지항목의 오염발생원단위를 사용하고 있기에 적용함에 있어서 많은 어려움을 겪고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 포장지역 중 고속도로 영업소를 대상으로 강우시 유출되는 강우유출수의 특성을 파악하여, 이러한 토지이용에서의 비점오염물질 유출특성과 부하량을 산정하고자 한다. 영업소 토지이용의 경우 많은 차량이 속도를 급격히 줄이는 토지이용지역으로 브레이크 패드, 각종 오일 및 엔진파트 등으로부터 많은 양의 오염물질이 축적되고, 포장률이 높아 강우시 다량의 오염물질이 유출되는 지역이다. 본 연구를 통해서 영업소 토지이용지역에서의 초기강우현상을 수리수문 및 농도곡선을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 EMC로부터 단위면적당 부하량과 강우지속시간당 부하량을 산정하였으며, 이러한 값은 영업소 유지관리시 인근수계에의 환경적인 영향을 해석하기 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다. 강우지속시간당 유출되는 평균부하량은 TSS의 경우 $533.7mg/m^2-hr$, COD $396.2mg/m^2-hr$, TN $17.0mg/m^2-hr$, TP $4.8mg/m^2-hr$로 산정되었다.

자연형 도로 비점오염저감시설의 저감효율 및 적용성 연구 (A Study on Removal Efficiency and Applicability of Natural Type Road Non-point Pollutant Reduction Facilities)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to assess removal efficiency of non-point pollutants and applicability for non-point pollutant reduction facilities by conducting the demonstration project operation. METHODS : In order to analyze removal efficiency of non-point pollutants for facilities such as a grassed swale, a small constructed wetland, a free water surface wetland, a horizontal sub-surface flow wetland, and a sand filtration, the field data including specifications of facilities, rainfall, inflow and runoff rainfall effluent etc. was acquired after occurring rainfall events, and the acquired data was analyzed for removal efficiency rate to assess road non-point pollutants facilities using event mean concentration (EMC) and summation of load (SOL) methods. RESULTS : The results of analyzing rainfall effluent, non-point pollutant sources showed that total suspended solid (TSS), chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), chrome (Cr), zinc (Zn), and lead (Pb) can be removed through non-point pollutant reduction facilities by 60.3% ~ 100%. Especially removal efficiency of TSS, COD and BOD is relatively higher than removal efficiency of other non-point pollutant sources in all kind of non-point pollutant facilities. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the result of this study, even though natural type of non-point pollutant reduction facilities for roads occupy small areas comparing with drainage basin areas, most of non-point pollutant sources would be removed through the facilities.

주차장 및 교량지역의 강우유출수내 비점오염물질의 특성 비교 및 동적 EMCs (Characteristics of Washed-off Pollutants and Dynamic EMCs in a Parking Lot and a Bridge during Storms)

  • Since the water quality of drinking water sources has been recognized as a big issue, the ministry of Environment in Korea is designing the total maximum daily load (TMDL) program for 4 major large rivers. The TMDL program can be successfully performed as controling the nonpoint pollutants from watershed area near the river. Of the various landuses in nonpoint pollution, parking lots and bridges are stormwater intensive landuses because of high imperviousness and high pollutant mass emissions from vehicular activities. Vehicle emissions from those areas include different pollutants such as heavy metals, oil and grease and particulates from sources such as fuels, brake pad and tire wear, etc. Especially the pollutant washed-off from the landuses are directly affecting to the river water quality. Therefore this research was conducted to understand the magnitude and nature of the stormwater emissions with the goal of quantifying stormwater pollutant concentrations and mass emission rates of pollutants from parking lot and bridges in Korea. In Kongju city areas, two monitoring sites were equipped with an automatic rainfall gages and an automatic flow meter for accumulating the useful data such as rainfall, water quality and runoff flow. This manuscripts will show the concentration changes during storm duration and EMCs to characterize the concentration profiles in different land uses. Also the first flush criteria will be suggested using dynamic EMCs. The definition of dynamic EMC is a new approach explaining the relationship of EMC and first flush effect.

다변량 분석을 이용한 소양호 유역의 계절별 오염물질 유출 해석 (Seasonals Pollutant Outflow Analysis in the Watershed of Soyang Lake by using Multivariate Analysis)

  • 본 논문은 소양호 유역의 오염물질 유출에 영향을 주는 지류하천의 인자들을 선정하여 계절변화에 따른 오염물질의 유출을 해석하였다. 분석방법은 인자분석을 통하여 계절별 오염물질 유출에 영향을 주는 배수구역의 인자들을 분류하고, 대표성을 갖는 인자항목을 선정하여 평가하였다. 연구결과, SS와 T-P항목의 경우 강우유출수와 유사한 항목으로 분류되어 비강우시 오염원 관리를 통하여 수질개선에 노력하여야 할 것이다. 다음으로 인자항목의 영향력을 관찰한 결과, 계절 봄과 겨울은 전체적으로 36%의 영향력을 여름과 가을에서는 90%이상의 유의적인 영향력을 행사하고 있는 것으로 관찰되어 지류하천의 오염원 관리를 통한 수질개선 효과가 가능할 것으로 보인다. 끝으로 분류된 인자항목을 독립변수로 하여 계절변화에 따른 배수구역의 오염물질 유출특성을 고려한 유달오염부하량 예측이 가능할 것이다.

A Case Study of Decreasing Environment Pollution Caused by Energy Consumption of a Dormitory Building Which Only Using Electricity by Efficiently Simulating Applying Residential SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell)

  • Recent years in Korea, some new developed buildings are only using electricity as power for heating, cooling, bathing and even cooking which means except electricity, there is no natural gas or other kinds of energy used in such kind of building. In vehicle industry area, scientists already invented electric vehicle as an environment friendly vehicle; after that, in architecture design and construction field, buildings only using electricity appeared; the curiosity of the environment impact of energy consumption by such kind of building lead me to do this research. In general, electricity is known as a clean energy resource reasoned by it is noncombustible energy resource; however, although there is no environmental pollution by using electricity, electricity generation procedure in power plant may cause huge amount of environment pollution; especially, electricity generation from combusting coal in power plant could emit enormous air pollutants to the air. In this research, the yearly amount of air pollution by energy using under traditional way in research target building that is using natural gas for heating, bathing and cooking and electricity for lighting, equipment and cooling is compared with yearly amount of air pollution by only using electricity as power in the building; result shows that building that only uses electricity emits much more air pollutants than uses electricity and natural gas together in the building. According to the amount of air pollutants comparison result between two different energy application types in the building, residential SOFC (Solid oxide fuel cell) is simulated to apply in this building for decreasing environment pollution of the building; furthermore, high load factor could lead high efficiency of SOFC, in the scenario of simulating applying SOFC in the building, SOFC is shared by two or three households in spring and autumn to increase efficiency of the SOFC. In sum, this research is trying to demonstrate electricity is a conditioned environment friendly energy resource; in the meanwhile, SOFC is simulated efficiently applying in the building only using electricity as power to decrease the large amount of air pollutants by energy using in the building. Energy consumption of the building is analyzed by calibrated commercial software Design Builder; the calibrated mathematical model of SOFC is referred from other researcher's study.

논에서의 일주기 수질 조사로부터 유도된 오염물질의 강우 -유출 사상별 유량가중평균농도와 유출량- 유하부하량 관계 (Flow Weighted Mean Concentration and Runoff -Mass Load Relationship of Pollutants Derived from Intensively Sampled Water Quality Data of a Paddy Field)

  • Water quality samples were taken for every two hours whenever runoff occurred by rainfall to investigate concentration variations of T-N, T-P and SS during runoff process from a paddy field. The difference between the highest concentration in a runoff event and flow weighted mean concentration for T-N, T-P, SS placed between 3.07∼40.16%, 11.44∼60.80%, and 15.11∼64.5%, respectively. The difference between the lowest concentration in event and event mean concentration for T-N, T-P, SS ranged between -7.24∼-31.84%, -11.59∼-47.86%, and -5.21∼-36.20%, respectively. The relationship between runoff and mass load was derived for each storm event using observed data. The relationship between runoff and mass load showed linear relationship regardless of water quality constituents and rainfall amount. The results suggested that relationship between T-N and T-P loads and runoff should be prepared separately in considering of fertilization effect and seasonal conditions. The relationship between SS and runoff should be made to reflect seasonal conditions and tillage effect.

수질오염총량관리를 위한 비점배출계수 산정 - 특정 기준유량 시기의 강우배출비 (Estimation of Nonpoint Discharge Coefficient for the Management of Total Maximum Daily Load - Rainfall Discharge Ratio on the Specific Design Flow)

  • Nonpoint source (NPS) pollution is caused by rainfall moving over and through the ground. As the runoff moves, it picks up and carries away various pollutants from NPS. The discharge pattern of NPS pollutant loads is affected by the distribution of the rainfall during the year. This study analysed relationship between the rainfall event and the stream flow rate, and estimated the rainfall discharge ratio on the specific design flow which can be used as nonpoint discharge coefficient for the estimation of NPS pollution load. It is considered that nonpoint discharge coefficient can be effectively used for the calculation of NPS pollution load at the time of water quality modelling for the management of Total maximum daily load (TMDL).

농작업에 따른 78 kW급 농업용 트랙터 엔진 부하율 분석 (Analysis of Engine Load Factor for a 78 kW Class Agricultural Tractor According to Agricultural Operations)

  • The purpose of this study was to calculate and analyze the engine load factor of major agricultural operations using a 78 kW class agricultural tractor for estimating the emission of air pollutants and greenhouse. Engine load data were collected using controller area network (CAN) communication. Main agricultural operations were selected as plow tillage (PT), rotary tillage (RT), baler operation (BO), loader operation (LO), driving on soil (DS), and driving on concrete (DC). The engine power was calculated using the measured engine load data. A weight factor was applied to load factor for considering usage ratio according to agricultural operations. Weight factors for different agricultural operations were calculated to be 27.4%, 32.9%, 17.5%, 7.7%, 4.5%, and 10.0% for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. As a result of the field test, load factors were 0.74, 0.93, 0.41, 0.23, 0.27, and 0.21 for PT, RT, BO, LO, DS, and DC, respectively. The engine load factor was the highest for RT. Finally, as a result of applying the weight factor for usage ratio of agricultural operations, the integrated engine load factor was estimated to be 0.63, which was about 1.31 times higher than the conventional applied load factor of 0.48. In future studies, we plan to analyze the engine load factor by considering various horsepower and working conditions of the tractor.

오염총량관리 할당부하량 초과지역의 최종 평가기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Final Evaluation Criteria of Allocation Exceedance Regional in Total Maximum Daily Load)

  • The Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) is a watershed management system that involves the establishment of the target water quality, the calculation of permission loading (allocation loading), and the control of total pollutants for each unit watershed. Allocation loading is assessed through the comprehensive implementation assessment of the previous year's plan. Assessment results are used for follow-up management measures such as the limit of development and updating of TMDL Management Implementation Plans for the next planning period. Although detailed assessment criteria are important, they are not currently available. Therefore, we suggested assessment criteria by comparing two methods('integration method' and 'separation method') using combination point and non-point discharge loading. We also examined the penalty criteria considering controllable load local government and updating methods of the TMDL Management Implementation Plan for the next planning period.

대청호 유역 비점오염원 제어를 위한 생태습지의 오염물질 제거효율 평가 (Evaluation of Removal Efficiency of Pollutants in Constructed Wetlands for Controlling Nonpoint Sources in the Daechung Reservoir Watershed)

  • 대청호는 유역에 있는 비점오염원으로부터 유입되는 오염물질로 인해 남조류 과다증식에 기인한 녹조가 빈번하게 발생하고 있다. 이에 녹조 관리 대책 중 하나로 인공습지를 설치하여 호소에 유입되는 오염물질을 저감하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비점오염원의 관리방법으로 인공습지의 적용 가능성을 평가하기 위해 대청호 상류에 설치된 서화천 생태습지를 대상으로 2014년부터 2020년까지 유입수 및 유출수의 BOD, COD, SS, T-N, T-P 등 오염물질 농도를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 대체적으로 인공습지에서의 처리를 통해 오염물질의 농도가 감소하는 것이 확인되었으며, 특히, 유기물질보다 질소, 인과 같은 영양염류에 있어 높은 처리효율이 확인되었다. 유입수의 오염물질 농도에 따른 처리효율을 구간을 나누어 분석한 결과 대체적으로 고농도에서 처리효율이 높은 경향을 나타내었다. 설치 및 운영 경과에 따른 연도별 인공습지 처리효율을 분석한 결과, T-P에서 큰 변화가 확인되었다. 이는 인공습지 조성 초기에는 식생의 성장에 따라 높은 처리효율을 보였지만, 식생이 안정화되고 습지 퇴적층이 포화됨에 따라 처리효율이 점진적으로 감소한 결과로 판단된다. 본 연구의 결과는 초기 강우 등 높은 농도의 오염물질 유입 및 주기적인 퇴적토 준설 등의 관리가 이루어진다면 인공습지가 유역면적이 넓고, 비점오염원의 영향을 크게 받는 댐 저수지의 부영양화 억제에 유용한 수단이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.
