Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe quality of life in school age children and the relationship between quality of life and parenting attitude as perceived by children and parent-child communication pattern. Methods: Data were collected between May 26 and June 3, 2009 using self-report questionnaires from 148 pairs of children and their parents. The children were enrolled in 4th to 6th grades. The questionnaires included the Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI), Parent-Child Communication (PCC) Scale, and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL). The data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 17.0 program. Results: The Quality of Life (QOL) score for the children was significantly higher among children reporting higher parental bonding attitude (mother r=.38, father r=.34) and parent-child communication (mother r=.43, father r=.36). Results of multiple regression showed that factors significantly associated with QOL were academic achievement, caregiver available after school, parent-child communication, school satisfaction, relationship with peers, and birth order among siblings. Conclusion: Positive relationships and good communication with parents and satisfaction with school life were important factors associated with quality of life in school age children.
Background: Good patient experience is positively associated with adherence to treatment recommendations, better clinical effectiveness, and health outcomes. This study aims to find out the key factors affecting positive patient experience to improve the quality of care using nationally representative survey data. Methods: The data was collected from the 6th National Health Nutrition Survey in 2015. Four patient experience items were investigated for patients with visiting outpatient care over the past year. Positive patient experience was defined as a case of responding always or usually yes. The t-test, chi-square test, and multiple logistic regression were performed to determine the key factors affecting the outpatient experience. Results: More than 80% of the respondents reported their care experience as positive excluding doctor spending enough time during the consultation. Male, poor health status, and single/divorced, and the longer time interval between outpatient care visit and survey were found to be significantly correlated with negative care experiences in the multiple logistic regression. Patients who received outpatient care at the oriental medicine clinic had a positive experience compared to those received outpatient care at the general hospital. However, patient factors including age, income, job, and insurance type had no significant association with patient experience. Conclusion: Health care providers should prioritize patients who report negative patient experiences and implement management decisions to improve the patient experience.
This study analyzes the social integration policy of migrants in Australia and draws implications for Korea. To do this, we first analyzed the literature on the social integration of immigrants in Australia and the Ministry of Justice report. Based on this, I have found out the policy implications for the Korean government on the social integration policy of the Australian government. First, the Australian government's social integration program emphasizes participation in social integration programs for humanitarian migrants, who need more help than other migrants. In Korea, the humanitarian integration program for migrants is very poor. Therefore, it is necessary to raise interest in active social integration of migrants through interest and consideration of humanitarian migrants like the Australian government. Second, the Australian government's social integration policies and programs are mainly established by the Australian Immigration Border Protection Department and the Social Welfare Department, but the implementation of the program is mainly conducted by local governments and emphasizes their role. In our case, we should give more authority to the local government's social integration policy and make them operate various programs according to local characteristics.

In this study, we divided the administration policies on condominium management as follows; (1) instruction about an advertisement and a contract (2) instruction about management (3) instruction about maintenance (4) instruction by the local government (5) legislation about condominium management. Most of the condominium management policy has been programmed by government, such as legal amendments and advises by administrative inspection. But these condominium management policies have limitations to support HOA, so it is need to correspond to local government. The Korean government has introduced land policy reform measures recently, in order to stabilize the circulating system of land, without a parent law involving effective land use. The measures aim to change the pattern of land market rather than the pattern of land use. Expecially, the excessive profits tax on land intends to redistribute the owernership of residential land, and to recapture windfall gains on an accrual basis. However, it may incur secondary gains in macro economics and an unintended reduction of urban land supply in the land market. This paper aims to study empirically the impact caused by the excessive profits tax on land, and to promote urban land supply. Ultimately, this paper can be regarded as an interim report on outcome of research projects which aim to propose a method of urban land supply suitable to an advanced society.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the locational characteristics of areas surrounding oriental medicine hospitals and the number of patients who visited study hospitals. Administrative data collected from the annual report of 5 ward offices in Daejeon used to assess the geographical attributes. Two oriental medicine hospitals operated in Daejeon provided data for the number of inpatient and outpatient. Number of patients who visited study hospitals was calculated in each Dong which is the smallest administrative district. The geographical attributes of Daejeon were evaluated by the demographic and economic factors which were assumed to influence the health care demand. Each criterion was measured from each Dong. Weights of factors was calculated by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Evaluation scores which representing the geographical attributes of Dong was computed by multiplying the eight factors and weights. Results showed positive correlation coefficients between the evaluation scores of Dong and the number of patients. One hospital which was more closely located to areas with high evaluation scores had higher number of patients than that of the other hospital. Buffering analysis with varying size support the analysis results. This finding proposed the importance of location for the management of oriental medicine hospitals in a metropolitan city. Applying study model to other cities will enhance the validity of study results.
This study is to study a method of applying weights for quality characteristics in software test evaluation. The weight application method analyzes the text of the test report and uses the ratio according to the frequency of the text as a weight for the quality characteristics of the software test score. The feasibility review of the results of this study was conducted by comparing the results of the questionnaire survey, which made the developers and users to evaluate the importance of software, and the results of the frequency analysis of text analysis. When measuring quality based on the eight quality characteristics presented in ISO/IEC 25023, the result of this study is the software quality measurement result considering software characteristics, whereas the result of this study is the software quality measurement result by applying the same weight when measuring quality.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the need for the preparation of old age of dental hygienists and happy life. Methods: This study is a descriptive study. A self-reported questionnaire in Likert 5 scale was completed by the dental hygienists in Korea through online report or written report from December, 2012 to June, 2013. Except incomplete answers, 200 data were analyzed. The questionnaire consisted of 10 questions of preparation for old age and awareness for old ages, 9 questions of physical preparation, and 9 questions of emotional preparation. Cronbach's alpha of old age preparation and awareness of old age was 0.634 in the study. Cronbach's alpha was 0.709 and 0.757 in physical preparation and emotional preparation, respectively. The final analyses of 200 copies were conducted using SPSS 11.5 software for Windows(SPSS Inc., Chicago, lllinois, USA). Results: Awareness toward preparation for old age of dental hygienists was 3.72 points, physical preparation was 2.94 points, and emotional preparation was 2.91 points. Awareness toward preparation for old age of dental hygienists showed the relationship between birth date, marital status, education level, and subjective health condition. Physical preparation was closely related to birth date, marital status, education level, and the workplace. Emotional preparation was closely related to birth date, marital status, education level, and the workplace. Conclusions: This study suggested that preparation for old age of dental hygienists was very important and the preparation must be connected with the social welfare policy.
The purpose of this study was to determine the status of dental hygienists in Japan. The study explicated the history, core curriculum, National Examination for Dental Hygienists, work roles of dental hygienists, and workplaces of dental hygienists. This study was based on the government policy report on dental hygienists and the information published by each public institution. The latest statistics presented by the institutions were collected through official websites. The employment information of graduates from Hiroshima University was analyzed based on actual field study. The results of the study revealed that social demand for dental hygienists has steadily increased and policies and education have been revised accordingly. The work roles of dental hygienists have expanded to meet the needs of the treatment and those of public health fields. In line with major policy changes, the educational period has been extended from 1 year to 3 or 4 years, while the mandatory credits for graduation have been established. Licensing examinations were being performed by the local governments since 1948 due to the different situations of dental hygienists in different areas. In 1992, they were converted into a single national examination. The work roles have expanded from assisting dental treatments to health guidance, home care, and perioperative care. Consequently, the number of dental hygienists has increased, especially in healthcare facilities for the elderly. Dental hygienists perform various roles. However, the most essential role is to provide the best oral care services to the patient. The expected role of dental hygienists has expanded in alignment with public healthcare needs and support for the elderly. The government and universities are expected to bring about improvements such as diversifying the channels of education and establishing policies to respond to growing patient needs by cultivating excellent dental hygiene professionals.
This study attempts to examine the relationships between the major market-based media and the government after closing military regime era, 1961-1987. After the military regime was collapsed, while the mass media in Korea obtained independence and autonomy from government, they have been confronted with the terrible competition not so much comparatively as before. The watchdog role in the traditional liberalism, which is regarded as normative relationship between the media and the government would be transformed in accordance with the market condition and the maturity of democracy. Thus, the watchdog metaphor has been variously deviated in rower-centered society; lap dog, guard dog, attack dog. liberalists argue that the primary democratic role of the media is to art as a public watchdog overseeing the state. Social democrats, however, criticize them as simplistic conception which could be only applied to the government. They argue that the media should be seen as a source of redress against the abuse of all forms of power over others; the home, the economy, and the civil society. The lap dog view is that the media is overwhelmingly dependent on the established power structure contrary to the watchdog. While the guard dog perspective is a means to preserve the power structure alarming with playing 'conflict role', the attack do8 aims to the private interest of the media in intruding into the politics. The press coalesced only circumstantially with government and was interested in preserving some margin of independence. The failure of Kim's reform proved the political muscle of the press in post-autho-ritarianism. In the middle stage of Kim Dae Jung government (1998-) that resulted in the shift of power structure as once-opposition party leader, the stress has been a manifested attack-guard dog owing to the anti-cold war policy, the realignment policy of power, and the minority-base of Kim's government.
