  • Paraloid B-72 of acrylic resins has been widely used as consolidant for bronze artifacts conservation. In previous study, xylene was appropriate for paraloid B-72 when bronze artifacts consolidated. In this study, we compared the coating properties of paraloid B-72 in various concentration levels. The surface before and after coating were observed by optical microscope and AFM. Thickness and adhesive strength of films were tested. For testing coating stability, we performed yellowing test and EIS. After these experiments, we concluded 15wt% paraloid B-72 was adequate concentration for bronze artifacts conservation when paraloid B-72 used in xylene as solvent. Because 15wt% paraloid B-72 has the lowest polarity and high hydrophobic.

  • Space explorations by spacecraft have detected the solar wind and the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF), whose existences had been suggested to explain the narrow comet plasma tail formation before the space age. Thereafter, a global magnetic structure seperating the opposite polarity regions of IMF in the heliosphere was discovered (Wilcox and Ness, 1965). It is called helispheric current sheet (HCS). Comets have been proved as the useful heliospheric probes. Recently, another capability of comet as a probe of HCS was suggested by Yi (1994). In the process of comet plasma tail disconnection events (EDs) showing the ray folding and main tail severance between the folding rays (Brandt, 1982), the folding rays preceding DE might be the visualization of HCS draped around comet, In order to test this new idea, the association of comet Halley 16 DEs with comet crossings of HCS confirmed by spacecraft observations at the time of comet Halley apparition 1985~1986 was investigated.

  • In this paper, we present a new echo kernel, which is a modification of polar echo kernel. to improve the detection performance and robustness against attacks. Polar echo kernel may take advantage of large detection margin from the polarity of inserted echo signal, but its poor frequency response in low frequency band degrades sound quality. To solve this problem, we applied bipolar echo pulses to the polar echo kernel. Using the proposed echo kernel the distributions of autocepstrum peaks fur data ‘0’ and ‘1’ are located more distant and improvement of detection performance is achieved. It also makes the low frequency band flat so that the timbre difference in the polar echo kernel can be removed to reproduce the imperceptible sound qualify. Informal listening tests as well as robustness test against attacks were performed to evaluate the proposed echo kernel. Experimental results demonstrated the superiority of the proposed echo kernel to both conventional unipolar and polar echo kernels

  • This paper describes a new notches generator for the test of custom power devices such as UPS, DVR, Active Power Filter, etc. The magnitude, width, polarity, and position of the notches generated by the proposed scheme can be varied with simple control. The scheme has good features of simple structure, high reliability, and the capability of arbitrary several notches generation. The circuit operation is described and the usefulness of the scheme is verified through simulations.

  • This paper describes the series-gap characteristics of transmission line arrester with switching and lightning impulse flashover test. The transmission line arrester exhibited external gap because it is must not flashover with switching impulse on the other hand it is must flashover with lightning impulse. In accordance, minimum and maximum length of series-gap was determinated with these tests. As gap length is increased flashover voltage was increased in the range of 315.4 kV~496.3 kV and negative polarity exhibited a high voltage. As a result, It was thought tat the series-gap length of transmission line arrester exhibited in the range of 580 mm~1100 mm.

  • In this paper, we propose a bias detection method that is based on personal and social opinions that express contrasting views on competing topics on Twitter. We used unsupervised polarity classification is conducted for learning social opinions on targets. The $tf{\cdot}idf$ algorithm is applied to extract targets to reflect sentiments and features of tweets. Our method addresses there being a lack of a sentiment lexicon when learning social opinions. To evaluate the effectiveness of our method, experiments were conducted on four issues using Twitter test collection. The proposed method achieved significant improvements over the baselines.

  • Charge accumulation characteristics in low density polyethylene (LDPE) has been discussed based upon the internal charge distrubution measured by the pulsed electroacoustic technique. When the negative voltage with respect to earth is applied to the upper electrode, the negative charges near the anode and the positive charges near the cathode are accumulated in LDPE. Also, there was an asymmetric behavior of charge accumulation exhibiting that the charge accumulation near the anode keeps increasing whereas that near the cathode increases first and then decreases. Besides, under the present test conditions the internal charge distrubution becomes stabilized eventually. When the positive voltage with respect to earth is applied to the upper electrode, on the other hand, no such asymmetric charge accumulation was found. Therefore, it can be concluded that the heterocharges are accumulated at the surface region of LDPE subjected to high do voltages and that the begavior of charge accumulation depends on the polarity of do voltage and the position of charge accumulation.

  • For large gas-insulated systems, the conductor utilized possess some degree of surface roughness which locally enhances the applied field at highpressure in $SF_{6}$. In order to investigate the effect of field enhancement on the breakdown field strength, the spheric protrusion was employed which gives a quantitative analysis on field enhancement. For further investigations on the breakdown level and polarity effect in $SF_{6}$, the repeated breakdown tests were performed with d.c. voltage at pressures up to about 4 bar. The experimental results show that the breakdown level does vary noticeably due to successive voltage applications and the breakdown field strength measured for a test gap with the cathode protrusion is markedly lower than that determined from the identical anode protrusion.

  • An electron gun system for a nanosecond pulse linac has been built and tested. The gun grid is driven with a grid pulser, which consists of an avalanche transistor pulser and parallel triode amplifier. The amplifier is installed in an end hole of the electron gun and provided for power amplification and polarity change of the output pulses of the avalanche transistor pulser. An output pulse of 200 V and 2 ns FWHM was obtained by using the grid pulser of can type transistors. Measurements with a test bench show that the electron gun can deliver 2ns pulse with with currents larger than 3A.

  • A dual capillary column system is described for the simultaneous measurement of retention index (RI) and area ratio (AR) values of each peak on two capillary columns of different polarity, DB-5 & DB-1701. Both capillary columns were connected to a common splitless injector via a deactivated fused-silica capillary tubing of 1 m length and a 'Y' splitter, the dead volume effect of which was found to be negligible. RI and AR were measured with high reproducibility(${\leq}$0.05% RSD) and with high accuracy (<10% RE), respectively. When applied to the test samples of the organic acid mixture, each acid was positively identified by the combined computer RI library search-AR comparison.
