영유아 손자녀와 그림책읽기 시 조모의 언어적·비언어적 상호작용 분석 연구 (Analysis of Verbal and Nonverbal Behaviors of Grandmothers during Young Grandchildren-Grandmother Picture Book Reading)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate grandmothers' verbal and nonverbal behaviors during young grandchildren-grandmother picture book reading. Methods: Participants were fifty-two children aged 22-42 months and their grandmothers. The researcher visited participating children's homes or child care centers and videotaped grandchildren-grandmother book reading activities. Each grandmother read two picture books for each observation. Grandmother surveys were administered after the reading activities. Parent surveys were completed by parents and were returned to the researcher. Results: First, grandmothers began reading picture books to grandchildren when children were 6 to 11-months-old or 12 to 17-months-old. They spent 5 to 10 minutes or 10 to 15 minutes at a time reading books. Second, grandmothers' most frequent verbal behavior during young grandchildren-grandmother picture book reading was 'explaining,' followed by 'questioning,' and 'providing feedback,' in that order. Grandmothers' MLU-eojeol during grandchildren-grandmother reading was 2.56. Their most frequently used nonverbal behavior was 'pointing,' followed by 'gestures.' Lastly, there was a significant difference in grandmothers' verbal and nonverbal behaviors during grandchildren-grandmother reading, depending on the grandmothers' characteristics. Conclusion/Implications: Grandmothers use various verbal and nonverbal behaviors during grandchildren-grandmother picture book reading activities, and there are significant differences in grandmothers' verbal and nonverbal behaviors with grandchildren based on grandmothers' characteristics.

  • 컴퓨터 하드웨어의 발전과 초고속의 네트워크의 출현으로 지리적으로는 떨어져 있지만 컴퓨터 네트워크로 연결되어 있는 교사와 학생간에 동기식 학습이 가능하게 되었다. 전통적인 원격 교육과 비교하여 볼 때, 이러한 학습은 매우 높은 수준의 상호작용과 상호 협력을 제공하지만 전통적인 교실에서의 수업과 비교하여 볼 경우에는 다음과 같은 매우 중대한 결점들을 지니고 있다. 오늘날의 동기식 학습 시스템은 오디오, 비디오, 문서 편집을 제공하는 비디오 컨퍼런싱 기술에 주로 의존하고 있으며, 교수 과정의 조절, 손을 드는 행위, 지적 표시 등과 같은 특별한 교수 방법은 크게 고려하지 않고 있다. 이에 대두된 개념이 공유 화이트보드이다. 화이트보드는 전통적인 칠판의 전자적인 대체물로 이를 통해 원격 학습에 임하는 교사와 학생들이 전통적인 교실의 칠판의 이점을 취할 수 있게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 화이트보드 구현시 고려 사항인 시스템 구조와 동시성 제어 방법에 대해 다양하게 살펴본다.

도덕경(道德經)에 나타난 노자(老子)의 언어관 (Laotzu's View of Language: As Represented in Tao De Ching)

  • Laotzu's view of language is well expressed at the beginning stanza of "道可道 非常道" of Tao De Ching, the interpretation of which is pivotal for the proper interpretation of the entire text. Two lines of interpretation of this stanza have been proposed; The first view regards the letter "道" in "非常道" as representing that which is signified by a sign. The other takes the posture that the letter "道" is itself the signifier of the sign. I argue in this article that the second posture should be taken to interpret Tao De Ching properly, contrary to the traditional interpretation of this stanza, by pointing out the verses which inevitably contradict each other when interpreted according to the first view. The second view leads to the conclusion that everyday language is not sufficient enough to describe the supernatural beings, including Tao, accurately, and seeks a way to augment ordinary language for appropriate description of such supernatural beings. The strategy Laotzu adopts in Tao De Ching is to expand the expressive power of ordinary language by extensive use of metaphors. This paper discerns 4 conceptual metaphors in the sense of Johnson and Lakoff(1980) which underlie the metaphors used in Tao De Ching: (1) Tao is Void; (2) Tao is Mother; (3) Tao is Valley; and (4) Tao is Untrimmed Log.

Bird and plant companion species predict breeding and migrant habitats of the genus Oenanthe

  • Analysing companion species from unrelated taxa concentrated so far mainly on identifying biosurrogacy in terms of conservation biology. No study has investigated companion bird and plant species to predict breeding and migrant habitats of a bird genus. In this study we recorded and analysed companion bird and plant species of the breeding bird Cyprus Wheatear Oenanthe cypriaca and four migranting Oenanthe species on Cyprus. We found characteristic companion species in Cyprus Wheatear's, Wheatear migrant's and in control habitats where no Wheatears were present. We show that plant and bird companion species can be used as discriminating factors to predict breeding and migrant habitats of the genus Oenanthe on Cyprus. Furthermore, habitat preferences of Cyprus Wheatear's companion species indicate bushy and vegetation rich habitats avoiding woodland on the one hand and managed farmland on the other hand. In comparison, migrant Wheatear and control habitats were characterised by companion species pointing to a high openness. These results support former habitat descriptions of Cyprus Wheatear and migrant Wheatears. In more general, this study shows that companion species from unrelated taxa can be used to predict breeding and migrant habitats of a bird genus.

Multifrequency polarization monitoring of a blazar 3C279

  • In the center of an Active Galactic Nuclei(AGN) is a supermassive black hole which accretes matter from its surroundings. The radio-loud AGN launch two relativistic jets perpendicular to the accretion disk which terminates into radio lobes located up to megaparsec away. Blazars form a small subset of radio-loud AGNs with one of two relativistic jets pointing toward the observer's line of sight. Many blazars often show flares at different frequencies. And these flares at different frequencies are known that they often correlate with each other. In 2013 December, there was a gamma-ray flare in 3C 279, one of the brightest blazars, Dec 2013. So we want to reveal that whether this flare correlates with radio flare or not, and where the flare originate. With polarization observation at radio frequencies, we can study the physical properties of the magnetic field in the innermost regions of the relativistic jets. Therefore, we have conducted polarization monitoring of this source from Dec. 2013 to Jun. 2014 with KVN(Korea VLBI Network) radio telescopes at 22, 43 and 86GHz. Here we present the initial results of the monitoring of 3C 279. We prospect that we can reveal the origin of this gamma-ray flare by comparing with our radio data.

  • 무궁화 위성체는 10년 수명기간 동안 통신 및 직접방송 위성서비스에 필요한 빔의 지향성을 유지하기 위하여 정확하고 신뢰성있는 자세제어 시스팀을 요구하고 있다. 본고에서는 무궁화 위성체가 정지궤도에서 정상운용모드로 동작하는데 요구되는 자세제어부속시스팀에 대한 상세설계기법 및 성능에 대해서 기술하고자 한다.

  • 정지궤도 위성과 지구국간 광통신을 대기상태와 앙각의 함수로써 해석할 수 있는 한모델(Han's model)을 제시하였다. 한모델에서는 대기상태를 맑은날, 구름낀 날, 안개, 헤이즈, 비, 눈의 여섯가지 전형적인 상태로 구분한다. 비트오류을 $10^{-7}$을 만족하는 데이터 전송속도를 한모델을 이용하여 상향링크와 하향링크에 대해 해석하였다. 상향링크시의 포인팅손실이 하향링크시의 대기에 의한 공간 가간섭 저하보다 크기 때문에 데이터 전송속도는 하향링크 보다 오히려 상향링크시에 제한됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • 인터넷상에서 관측할 수 있는 36 츠 자동화 망원경이 개발되었다. 이 시스템의 추적 오차는 약 1"/분이고, 지향 정밀도는 적경 방향에서 약 ${\pm}10"$, 적위 방향에서 약 ${\pm}20"$였다. 이것은 계속 개선되어나갈 것이다. 예비관측을 통해 얻은 영상자료를 IRAF를 통해 분석해본 결과 비교적 안정적인 결과를 보여주었다. 이러한 결과는 원격천체관측 교육에 활용할 수 있음을 의미한다.

  • We carry out 100-GHz band test observations with the newly-constructed KVN 21-m radio telescopes in order to evaluate their performance. The three telescopes have similar performance parameters. The pointing accuracies are about 4" rms for the entire sky. The main beam sizes are about 30" (FWHMs), which is nearly the diffraction limit of the telescopes at the observing frequency (97 GHz). The measured aperture and main-beam efficiencies are about 52% and 46%, respectively, for all three telescopes. The estimated moon efficiency is ~84% for the KVN Tamna telescope. The first sidelobes appear 50" (~1.6${\times}$FWHM) from the main beam centers and the levels are on average -14 dB.

$3{\sim}6$세 아동의 대립어 습득 및 부정어 처리 발달 (The Development of Processing Negation and Opposites Acquisition from 3 to 6 Year-old Children)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate opposites acquisition and tendency of processing negations about directional oppositionality from 3- to 6-old Korean children. The data were collected from 80 children from a daycare center and 20 university students in Busan, Korea. In Experiment 1, participants were asked to produce opposites for common terms related to colors, directions, and dimension adjectives. In Experiment 2, they were asked to make pictures corresponding to statements with negations(e. g. The arrow is NOT pointing up.). Summarizing the overall results, first, children over 5 considered 'blue' and 'red' as opposites colors in the case of not well-known color opposites. If there exists an opposite color, color opposites have been acquired from 6 year-olds, the directional opposites started from 3 year-olds, and the opposites of dimension adjectives did from 5 year-olds. Second, preferring the antipodal color opposites started from 6 and preferring the antipodal direction did from 3. Consequently, 3-to 6 year-old children acquired opposites at different age and opposites dimension. Also the opposites dimension have an effect on processing negation of young children.
