  • Despite the relatively high production of fingerlings of the olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus, its larval rearing in terms of first feeding has not been fully analyzed. We evaluated the variations of amino acids and fatty acids of starved larvae over 96 hr after hatching. We also investigated depletion of the yolk and oil globule of starved larvae and those fed the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis. In addition, the optimum size of the rotifers according to the mouth size of the larvae, and the point of no return with delay of the first feeding, were also examined. The amino acids in the egg decreased abruptly during embryo development. At 48 to 72 hr after hatching, the amino acids of starved larvae decreased by $30-40\%$ from the level in newly hatched larvae. The concentrations of fatty acids in newly hatched larvae were lower than those of floating eggs and dropped sharply at 48 hr after hatching, when the yolk disappeared. The starved larvae depleted their yolksacs and oil globules earlier than the fed larvae did. At 84 hr after hatching, rotifers were detected for the first time in the guts of the larvae, which were about 3 mm in total length. The point of no return appeared to be close to the fourth day from the first feeding. For a high survival rate of P. olivaceus larvae, the first feeding should occur before the third day after hatching.

  • This paper presents return link demodulation algorithm designed for hardware implementation using HDL that include complex signal processing work reliably even in low SNR. Simulation results show that performance of Es/$N_0$ has improved within 0.5dB at the point of uncoded BER $10^{-3}$ compared to the ideal QPSK signal. In addition, fixed-point simulation and HDL implementation performance compared to the simulation we can see that there is no difference.

  • This research investigated the retired elderly who had moved to rural areas. The propose of the study was to examine the point at which there must be a difference in the patterns of a return to farming and determine the actual condition of their preparations for migration. This study had surveyed 408 seniors who wereare over 50 years old and had moved to rural areas after their retirement and analyzed the data by the SPSS PC 11.0 program. The results were as follows. First, the relevancy of U-turn, J-turn, and I-turn types that were affected by social demography was found to be dependent on their education levels and family patterns. Second, the actual conditions of the process of preparation by the types of a return to the farming were different according to the motivation and preparation fund. Nevertheless, the most important factor was the influence of their spouses. Third, the actual conditions of the process of adaptation by the patterns of a return to the farming showed no difference between the degree of efforts of the social supportand elevation of the friendship among the neighbors. The recognition of rural life problems were more acquainted towards the area of farming life. Among the 6 problem areas, leisure, health care, and economic problems were highly considered.

  • Investors have increasingly become interested in macroeconomic antecedents in order to better understand the investment environment and estimate the scope of profitable investment in equity markets. This study endeavors to examine the interdependency between the macroeconomic antecedents (international oil price (COP), Domestic gold price (GP), Rupee-dollar exchange rates (ER), Real interest rates (RIR), consumer price indices (CPI)), and the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 index return. The data is converted into a natural logarithm for keeping it normal as well as for reducing the problem of heteroscedasticity. Monthly time series data from January 1992 to July 2019 is extracted from the Reserve Bank of India database with the application of financial Econometrics. Breusch-Godfrey serial correlation LM test for removal of autocorrelation, Breusch-Pagan-Godfrey test for removal of heteroscedasticity, Cointegration test and VECM test for testing cointegration between macroeconomic factors and market returns,] are employed to fit regression model. The Indian market returns are stable and positive but show intense volatility. When the series is stationary after the first difference, heteroskedasticity and serial correlation are not present. Different forecast accuracy measures point out macroeconomics can forecast future market returns of the Indian stock market. The step-by-step econometric tests show the long-run affiliation among macroeconomic antecedents.

  • Scimitar syndrome is a rare congenital anomaly that is characterized by hypoplasia of the right lung and the right pulmonary artery with anomalous pulmonary venous drainage to the inferior vena cava. The scimitar vein is usually visible on chest radiographs, but may be obscured by the heart. It is essential for surgical correction to establish the point of drainage of the anomalous vein and associated anomalies. There are recent reports of familial total anomalous pulmonary venous return suggesting heritable forms of this anomaly. Although genetic factors are believed to have important roles in congenital heart disease, few genes involved in heart development have been located. We report a case of familial chromosome 9 inversion with Scimitar syndrome in an offspring who presented with dextrocardia. Evaluation with magnetic resonance cineangiograph imaging demonstrated an anomalous pulmonary vein draining into the inferior vena cava above the diaphragm and hypoplasia of the right lung and the right pulmonary artery. Chromsome analysis showed pericentric inversion of chromosome 9, inv 9 (p13, q21), in the patient and his mother as well. A brief review of the related literature is also included.

  • Dysfunction of the inferior alveolar nerve indicated by various degree of numbness of the lower lip and chin is one of the few drawbacks of mandibular osteotomy, especially Bilateral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy(BSSRO) and genioplasty. Although it has been recorded throughout the history of this techniques, it is true etiology poorly understood. In this study, 22 consecutive patients under class III malocclusiion impression and undergoing orthognathic surgery(BSSRO only 11 case, BSSRO with genioplasty 11 case) were studied using 4 neurosensory test(static light touch, directional discrimination, two-point discrimination, pin pressure nociception) with post OP 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 24 weeks, On control group, 10 members without trauma and nerve damage history, nerve test was accomplished. We concluded majority of patients return of sensation during post operative 24 weeks. Althought immediate nerve deficit are 92.2%, 97.2% 88.9% these are recovered to 25%, 35.72%, 10.71% at 24 weeks. Nerve recovery rate increased prominently between post 4 weeks and 8 weeks. There is no statistically difference about neurosensory deficit among the chin area. Neurosensory deficit more severe when the BSSRO with genioplasty group than the only BSSRO group. Immediate neurosensory deficit is larger left side than right side but after 6 months, there is no significantly difference between left side and right side. Static light touch and pin pressure nociception are more sensitive method of neurosensory deficit than two point discrimination.

  • This study investigates the nexus between the level of Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosures (CSRD) and Risk of Bankruptcy of companies that are listing in the Stock Exchanges of Vietnam. To investigate that relationship, this study collected secondary data from annual audited financial statements from 2014 to 2018 of listing companies. Applying two different regression models with two dependent variables and six independent and control variables, we find out that Vietnamese firms with higher level of CSRD performance can rapidly reduce their risk of bankruptcy. This phenomenon happens in the current year and in the coming years in all firms in the research sample. This result may be that the disclosures of social responsibility information can bring financial and non-financial benefits to the firms. In addition, the results also point out that there is a difference in risk of bankruptcy between the group of companies, which discloses and the one which does not disclose corporate social responsibility on their annual reports. This might be from the effects of various factors such as business size, financial leverage, market to book ratio, return on assets, cash flow from operations, etc. Our research results can be applied to other firms in Vietnam and in other similar jurisdictions.

  • In this paper, we proposed flexible T-DMB dipole-shaped antenna that has strength of glass antenna and also has portability and ease of production. The input impedance of antenna according to vehicle body-effect was considered in order to install the antenna on the top of the front window. Installation position of on-glass antennas are changeable defends on driver, so we proposed Interdigital capacitor in feeding point to achieve matching characteristic with no position limit. The measurement result showed good return loss characteristic-below -6 dB in the T-DMB frequency band and maintained fixed resonant frequency.

  • The applicability of the USEPA's (United States Environmental Protection Agency) three criteria of enhanced coagulation (criterion 1-TOC level less than 2 mg/l. before chlorination; criterion II-% requirement of TOC removal; criterion III-point of diminishing return) for Korean waters was evaluated in this study. This study also investigated an effect of enhanced coagulation on turbidity removal, and attempted to identify the best coagulant for enhanced coagulation. Three different waters were used in this study: one river water and two lake waters. five different coagulants were used: alum, liquid alum, PACl, ferric chloride with and without water. Results of this study showed that all three criteria were achievable for the tested waters. For these waters, controlling criterion was found to be different depending upon raw water characteristics. When initial Toe level was low(< 4 mg/L), criterion I (< 2 mg/L) could be the controlling criterion. As TOC level increased, criterion II (% TOC removal) became the controlling criteria. It was possible to achieve different goals of turbidity and TOC removals. Although the optimum region of TOC removal was more acidic than that of turbidity removal, there was no conflict between these two removals. The best coagulant was found to be different depending upon the evaluation tool: maximum and optimum removal. ferric chloride was more effective than alum in terms of the maximum TOC removal, while Al-based coagulant such as alum or PACl was the best coagulant in terms of the optimum TOC removal.

  • Reproductive traits of Palaemon gravieri such as embryo size, number of embryo (fecundity), incubation period, larval development mode, larval development period, larval survival and larval growth were described and compared to analyze the correlation among those traits. Embryo volume is a primary factor determining other ensuing reproductive features. Egg volume was $0.042mm^3$ in the first developmental stage. Embryo volume in P. gravieri was comparatively small which is indicative of great number of embryo (y = 3.0161x + 0.0185 $R^2$ = 0.74 positive isometric relationship) and relatively long incubation period. Larvae survived from zoea 1 to post-larvae and it took 45 days at $22^{\circ}C$. Survival rate of the larvae was rather great in the early stage and thereafter steadily decreased. Daily growth rate of larvae in P. gravieri at $22^{\circ}C$ was 0.0195 mm on average. They grew steadily as time went by. Incubation period was between 10-14 days at $22^{\circ}C$. Larval development mode was almost complete planktotrophic. PNR (point of no return) appeared to be the third day on average. Survival rate of larvae without feeding declined rapidly between 3 and 4 days. Larval development period and stage frequency were 23-30 days and 11 stages which imply prolonged larval period and high mortality. The pattern of brood production followed fast successive parturial pattern. Most ovigerous female had mature ovary when they performed parturial molt soon after hatching (larval release).
