전기로 및 봉입형 응고점 셀 내의 온도구배가 미치는 표준백금저항온도계 온도측정의 불확도 요소 평가 (Evaluation of Uncertainty Sources in Temperature Measurement Using Platinum Resistance Thermometer Caused by Temperature Gradient in Furnace and Sealed-type Freezing Point Cells)

  • In the international temperature scale of 1990 (ITS-90), standard platinum resistance thermometer (SPRT) is a defining standard thermometer used in the temperature range from 13.8033 K to $961^{\circ}C$. Uncertainty of SPRT is about several mK and uncertainty of defining fixed points of the ITS-90 which is used for calibrating SPRT is about several tenth of mK. Above $0^{\circ}C$. the defining fixed points are gallium melting point and indium, tin, zinc, aluminium and silver freezing points which are all realized using an electric furnace or a liquid bath. To realize freezing point of tin ($231.928^{\circ}C$) and zinc ($419.527^{\cir}C$), two 3-zone furnaces which have 3 electric heaters were manufactured. Temperature gradient of the constructed furnaces were tested. Uncertainty caused by temperature gradient of furnace and immersion effect of SPRT in the sealed-type freezing point cells were evaluated 0.038 mK for tin freezing point and 0.036 mK for zinc freezing point.

  • In this paper, an estimation scheme based on an augmented sigma-point Kalman filter to estimate the state of charge (SOC) of the battery is presented, where the battery parameters of the series resistance ($R_o$), diffusion capacitance ($C_1$) and resistance ($R_1$) are also estimated through the recursive least squares (RLS) for better accuracy of the SOC. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation results.

Mode of Action of Streptomycin Resistance in the Citrus Canker Pathogen (Xanthomonas smithii subsp. citri) in Jeju Island

  • It has been known that streptomycin resistance in bacteria can occur as a results of chromosomal mutation or through gene acquisition or both. Chromosomal mutations for resistances are point mutations in the rpsL gene, which alter ribosomal protein S12. Acquired resistance has occurred when an $Sm^R$ plasmid carrying transposon Tn5393 with tandem strA-strB gene is transferred by conjugation. A total of 686 isolates of Xanthomonas smithii subsp. citri causal agent of citrus canker disease were collected from 26 citrus orchards in Jeju Island in 2003 and 2004 seasons. Forty-nine of 111 isolates from streptomycin non-sprayed orchards in 2003 season were resistant to streptomycin. Of 107 isolates from orchards sprayed one time with streptomycin, 58 isolates were resistant, and 166 of 221 isolates from orchards sprayed two times with streptomycin were resistant. In 12 orchards sprayed three or more times with streptomycin, 219 of 247 isolates were resistant to streptomycin. Twenty-five isolates of X. smithii subsp. citri were surveyed to identify the mechanisms of streptomycin resistance in this study. Twenty-one of these 25 isolates were resistant to streptomycin, and it was proven by PCR assay that 18 of the 21 streptomycin resistant isolates have the strB gene. In sixteen of the 21 streptomycin resistant isolates, it was occurred a point mutation altered codon lysine (AAG)-41 of rpsL gene to arginine (AGG). The streptomycin-sensitive isolates easily acquired the resistance by mixed culture with resistant isolates. The strB gene was amplified from the isolates that acquired the resistance by mixed culture, and one isolate of them was also point-mutated in codon 41 of rpsL gene to be resistant. In this study, most of the streptomycin-resistant isolates of X. smithii sub sp. citri in Jeju island expressed the resistance by both chromosomal point mutation and gene acquisition, and the resistance was easily acquired through conjugation by culture mixed with streptomycin resistant and sensitive strains.

복숭아혹진딧물 야외개체군의 λ-cyhalothrin, imidacloprid, 그리고 flupyradifurone에 대한 저항성 모니터링과 점 돌연변이 분석 (Resistance Monitoring and Analysis of Point Mutations to λ-cyhalothrin, Imidacloprid, and Flupyradifurone in Field-collected Populations of Myzus persicae (Hemiptera: Aphididae))

  • 복숭아혹진딧물(Myzus persicae)은 다식성으로 담배, 감자, 고추, 배추, 복숭아 등에 심각한 피해를 입히는 대표적인 농업해충이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 복숭아혹진딧물 야외개체군의 λ-cyhalothrin, imidacloprid 및 flupyradifurone에 대한 약제 저항성 발달 수준과 점 돌연변이(R81T, L1014F, M918L)의 발생 여부를 확인하였다. 또한, qRT-PCR을 통해 사이토크롬 P450 유전자인 CYP6CY3 발현량을 확인하였다. 그 결과, λ-cyhalothrin은 저항성비(Resistance Ratio, RR)가 12개 모든 지역이 > 200으로 높은 저항성을 보였다. Imidacloprid와 flupyradifurone은 YS, UR, HY, 그리고 WJ 개체군에서 > 200의 저항성비로 높은 저항성을 나타냈다. R81T는 12개 집단 중 약 50%, L1014F는 약 33.3%, M918L은 100%에서 발현하였다. 또한 qRT-PCR을 통해 imidacloprid 저항성 개체에서 subunit CYP6CY3의 발현량이 높게 나타난 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 M918L 점 돌연변이는 λ-cyhalothrin 저항성 진단마커로, R81T와 CYP6CY3의 높은 발현은 imidacloprid 저항성 진단마커로 활용이 가능하다는 것을 시사한다.

  • 정적관입저항 또는 선단지지말뚝의 선단지지력을 해석함에 있어서는 유효수직응력이 기준음력으로 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 정적관입저항은 유효수직응력보다 원위치 유효수평응력에 관계된다는 것이 많은 실험연구결과로부터 보고 되었다. 이와같은 문제점을 규명하기 위하여 기 보고된 실험결과를 다시 분석하였으며 실험실에서의 관입시험이 실시되었다. 연구결과 정적관입저항은 유효수직 응력과 유효수평응력 모두에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타나고 있으며 해석시에는 평균주응력이 기준응력으로 사용되어야 함을 결론 지을 수 있었다.

PTH Crack을 고려한 저항 변화 추정 모델 (A Study on Estimation Model of Resistance Value from Change of PTH Crack Size)

  • PTH cracks are caused by the mismatch of coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) between polymer and laminated materials, and are one of the main failure mechanisms of multi layer boards. In spite of its importance, it is usually hard to measure or detect them because of its small size and invisibility. To detect PTH cracks more effectively, this paper proposes a theoretical model that can estimate the resistance value from crack size of PTHs. Using four-point probe resistance measurement method, the resistance value of test coupons is measured. Through measured data, we verify the validity of the proposed theoretical model and set up criteria of failure.

실배관 파괴특성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of the Pipe Fracture Characteristic)

  • In order to analyze the elastic-plastic fracture behavior of a structure, the fracture resistance curve of the material should be known first. The standard CT specimen was used to obtain the fracture resistance curves of a piping system. However, it is known that the fracture resistance curve by the standard CT specimen is very conservative to evaluate the integrity of a structure. Also the fracture resistance curve is effected by the specimen geometry and the dimensions because of the constraint effect. The objective of this paper is to be certain the conservativeness of the fracture resistance curve by the standard CT specimen and to provide an additional safety margin. For these, the fracture tests using a real pipe specimen and the standard CT specimen test were performed. A 4-point bending jig was manufactured for the pipe test and the direct current potential drop method was used to measure the crack extension and the length for the pipe test. Also finite element analyses were performed with a CT specimen and a pipe in order to prove the additional safety margin. From the result of tests and analyses of the pipe and the standard CT specimen, it was observed that the fracture analysis with the standard CT specimen is conservative and the additional safety margin was proved.

수평하중이 작용하는 무리말뚝 배면지반의 저항거동 특성 (Behavior of Back Ground of the Laterally Loaded Pile Group)

  • 본 연구에서는 모형실험을 통해 균질모래지반에 매설된 횡력을 받는 무리말뚝의 수평저항력을 산정하는데 가장 큰 영향을 주는 배면토의 저항형태를 파악하였다. 저항거동 형태는 회전절점, 쐐기 파괴각, 쐐기 날개각으로 파악하였다. 실험은 지반의 상대밀도, 말뚝의 폭, 말뚝의 간격과 배열을 달리하여 수행하였다. 그 결과 직렬말뚝에서의 지반거동 양상은 전열과 중간열이 같았고 후열의 경우 전열과 중간열 보다 작은 값을 나타내었다. 병렬말뚝의 경우 지반거동 양상이 단독말뚝과 같게 나타났다. 실험 결과를 바탕으로 회전절점, 쐐기 파괴각, 쐐기 날개각 산정 값 들을 식으로 제안하였다.

정온전선의 화재 위험성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Risk for Self-regulating Heating Cable)

  • This study examines the physical characteristics of self-regulating heating cables caused by increased temperature and fire risk due to local degradation. A thermo hygrostat system, a convection dryer, a digital multimeter (Agilent 34465 A), NI DAQ, and the LabVIEW program were used to assess the physical properties in response to temperature fluctuations. As the temperature increases, the resistance of the self-regulating heating cable increases; however, when the critical point is exceeded, the resistance sharply decreases. A problem arises when the resistance value cannot return to its original state even though the temperature is lowered to the initial state. Moreover, when the ambient temperature rises while power is applied, the resistance value initially increases, and the flowing current decreases, maintaining a constant state. However, when the critical temperature is exceeded, the flowing current increases because of a rapid decrease in the resistance value, progressing to ignition. When the resistance value decreases because of the deterioration of one local area, the total resistance value becomes less than the initial resistance value. Therefore, the flowing current increases and an ignition problem occurs at one location where deterioration occurs. Despite the sustained flames and arcs resulting from the changes in the overall physical properties of the self-regulating heating cable and resistance variations due to local decline, the fire continued as the flowing current was lower than the operating current of the circuit breaker, failing to cut the power. In the case of self-regulating heating cables and heating wires, which are the leading causes of fires in winter, efforts are needed to ensure the need for periodic maintenance and the use of KS-certified products.

Estimation of load and resistance factors based on the fourth moment method

  • The load and resistance factors are generally obtained using the First Order Reliability Method (FORM), in which the design point should be determined and derivative-based iterations have to be used. In this paper, a simple method for estimating the load and resistance factors using the first four moments of the basic random variables is proposed and a simple formula for the target mean resistance is also proposed to avoid iteration computation. Unlike the currently used method, the load and resistance factors can be determined using the proposed method even when the probability density functions (PDFs) of the basic random variables are not available. Moreover, the proposed method does not need either the iterative computation of derivatives or any design points. Thus, the present method provides a more convenient and effective way to estimate the load and resistance factors in practical engineering. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the advantages of the proposed fourth moment method for determining the load and resistance factors.
