  • It is well known that pneumatic motors convert fluid power into mechanical power with a low efficiency. The Value of the efficiency depends on several factors, of which the most important are ; type of motor, speed, supply pressure, sie and geometry of the motor. This paper presents an analytical and experimental study of the performance of he vane type pneumatic motors. This investigation deals with all the pneumatic motors. This investigation deals with all the pneumatic motors. This investigation deals with all the major aspects of the air flow through a vane type pneumatic motor and pints out which are the main causes of the low efficiency of the motor, and therefore indicates which changes in a motor design an lead to optimum performance.

  • In this paper, the pneumatic service robot with a hybrid type is developed. A pneumatic has the advantage of good compliance, high payload-to-weight and payload-to-volume ratios, high speed and force capabilities. Using pneumatic actuators which have low stiffness, the service robot can guarantee safety. By suggesting a new serial-parallel hybrid type for the service robot which separates into positioning motion and orienting motion, we can achieve large workspace and high strength-to-moving-weight ratio at the same time. A sliding mode controller can be designed for tracking the desired output using the Lyapunov stability theory and structural properties of pneumatic servo systems. Through many experiments of circular trajectory, the pneumatic service robot is evaluated and verified.

  • Of all of pneumatic components utilized in the make up of pneumatic circuits on either automatic assembly machine or industrial equipment, the pneumatic cylinder is more oriented toward being a structural as well as a pneumatic member. The structural design must be based to a large degree on the end of application of the cylinder on the equipment it is operating. In this paper, design studies of a double-acting pneumatic cushion type cylinder with low-friction and high-speed driving have been developed. Of interest here is to investigate the structural analysis of cylinder tube, piston rod, end cover, and to analyze the buckling of piston rod. Also, a relief valve type cushion mechanism is considered. This cushion mechanism is found to be adequate under a high-speed driving of pneumatic cylinders.

  • In this study, performs analysis of the life of parallel opening type pneumatic chucks that are usually applied in the factory automation line. Pneumatic chucks have complicated failure cause because they are organized as a complex of various elements. Therefore, we analyzed the main failure mode of pneumatic chuck, and then performed life test and performance test according to the international standards. On the basis of these processes, shape parameter of pneumatic chuk is proposed that is the main factor for the calculation of zero failure test time for the reliability of pneumatic chuck and their data analysis of life distribution.

  • Pneumatic damping through a orifice type duct for OWC type wave energy device is studied experimentally. Forced oscillation tests are made to measure chamber pressure and velocity of air flaw through orifice. Pneumatic damping coefficient are deducted from the experimental research, and discussion are made far the influence of frequency, heave amplitude, and orifice size. Finally two formula are proposed for the estimation of non-dimensional pneumatic damping coefficient by regression analysis. The proposed formula proves to be a reliable method far practical application.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the effective dynamic characteristics of an improved pneumatic cushion cylinder with a spring type needle valve. The dynamic model represented the peak pressure control method when the pneumatic cushion cylinder is moving forward or backward in the horizontal direction. It was found from the simulation results that the peak pressure in the cushion chamber is affected by the spring, which helps to understand the performance of the pneumatic cushion cylinder and to improve or design a better cushion needle valve component. From the simulation results, the stability of pneumatic cushion cylinder with a spring type needle valve was superior and its cushion capability was also better than that without the spring.

  • The vibration characteristic of tire is heavily related to the noise and comfort on driving. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate modal charateristic of non-pneumatic tires with Honeycomb spokes. The modal analysis of non-pneumatic tire is investigated for geometric of non-pneumatic tire(NPT) which is designed according to the cell angle of honeycomb cell. Investigation of natural frequencies and mode shapes of non-pneumatic tire are compared regular type NPT with auxetic type NPT. The analysis is based on the finite element method and used ABAQUS program which is able to analyze of non-linear. The material of NPT is used for the Ogden energy model which is model of hyperelastic material. As a result, natural frequencies and mode shapes of non-pneumatic tires with honeycomb spokes are affected by the angle of honeycomb cell.

  • Role of landing gear is to absorb energy which is generated by aircraft ground maneuvering and landing. Generally, in order to absorb the impact energy, oleo-pneumatic type shock absorber is used in aircraft landing gear. Oleo-pneumatic type shock absorber has a good energy absorption efficiency and is light in weight because structure of oleo-pneumatic type shock strut is relatively simple. In this study, dynamic load analysis for swinging arm type landing gear was performed to predict landing loads. Modeling of landing gear was conducted with MSC.ADAMS, and dynamic landing loads were analyzed based on ADS-29. Optimum landing loads were generated through adjustment of damping orifice and the analysis results were presented with various aircraft attitude.
