Comics with Drama: New Communication in Wedia

  • We-the-media (aka wedia) is a concept where the users of social networking sites, such as Facebook, turn into the broadcasters. This study used the popular application Bitstrips as the experiment tool. Facebook was used as the Wedia platform for publishing designed comics, then used the three elements of Goffman's dramaturgy model-role, scene and dialog-to analyze 265 comics created by 3 researchers and observe the audience's responses within 9 months. The results showed that people want to see a good story with positive dialogue, and prefer scene is school more than work. As all these elements are controllable, Wedia communication has the potential for more applications. We also found that including the elements of news, gambling and gift-giving tended to trigger greater response. Furthermore, We suggesting that such embedding of product information in web episodes (webisodes) with caricature could be a successful marketing strategy.

  • This paper addresses the issue of workflow on Grid and P2P, and proposes a layered workflow architecture and its related workflow models that are used for not only distributing workflows' information onto Grid or P2P resources but also scheduling the enactment of workflows. Especially, the most critical rationale of this paper is on the fact that the nature of Grid computing environment is fitted very well into building a platform for the maximally parallel and very large scale workflows that are frequently found in very large scale enterprises. The layered architecture proposed in this paper, which we call Enterprise Workflow Grid Architecture, is targeting on maximizing the usability of computing facilities in the enterprise as well as the scalability of its underlined workflow management system in coping with massively parallel and very large scale workflow applications.

  • 현재의 채용 시스템은 이력서에 구직자가 직접 자격증 정보를 입력하고 기업 이를 검증하기 위한 절차를 별도로 수행한다. 자격증 정보 관리와 검증의 불편함을 줄이기 위해 하이퍼레저 기반 블록체인 기술을 이용하여 자격증 관리 플랫폼을 구축하고자 한다. 구직자는 한 번의 인증으로 자신의 모든 자격증을 관리하고 기업에서는 이력서에 포함된 키를 이용하여 블록체인에 자격증 정보를 조회함으로써 별도로 원본을 제출할 필요없이 자격증의 유효성을 증명할 수 있다.

  • BYOD(Bring your own device) 환경에서는 개인의 스마트 기기를 이용하여 회사 시스템을 이용하는 것으로, 개인의 단말을 업무에 이용하는 만큼 사원의 개인정보, 고객의 개인정보, 신규 사업 아이템, 상품의 거래내역, 계좌번호 등 유출시 막대한 손해를 발생시키는 사내 정보 유출에 대한 문제가 발생 가능하다. 회사 시스템을 관리하기 위해 개개인이 사용하는 다양한 종류의 단말에 맞는 설정이 필요함으로 즉각적인 대응이 어렵다. 때문에 위 같은 문제를 해결하고자 삼성이 개발한 듀얼 OS 구조의 KNOX가 제안되었으나, 특정 단말과 OS에 의존적이어서 다양한 종류의 단말에 적용하기 위해서는 지속적 개발이 필요한 단점이 있다. 다른 방법으로 MDM(Mobile Device Management) 시스템을 제안하였지만 새로운 모바일 단말에 대한 즉각적인 대응이 힘들며, 유지보수에 많은 시간과 투자가 필요한 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 단말에 의존적이지 않으면서, 기업의 정보를 보호하기 위하여 클라우드 기반 정보 유출 방지 플랫폼을 설계하고 제안한다.

  • 최근 모바일 디바이스의 보급률은 83%까지 증가 하였으며 매 분기마다 모바일디바이스 공급자는 새로운 디바이스를 출시하며 교체시기가 점점 짧아지는 추세이다. 사용자의 모바일디바이스의 가장 큰 사용 목적은 다양한 애플리케이션을 사용하는 것이다. 애플리케이션이 사용되어짐과 동시에 사용자 개인의 데이터가 모바일 디바이스에 축척되어 지고 있지만 백업 기능을 제공하는 SMS, 전화번호부 같은 기본 애플리케이션 외에 일반 애플리케이션에 대한 데이터를 보존, 관리 할 수 있는 방법은 많지 않다. 이로 인해 디바이스 교체, 디바이스 분실, 파손 과 같은 상황에서 사용자는 일반 애플리케이션 데이터를 포기 하게 되는 실정이다. 이러한 단점을 보완하고자 사용자 입장에서 일반 애플리케이션의 데이터를 관리할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

Implementation of a Weather Hazard Warning System at a Catchment Scale (시스템 구성요소 통합 및 현업서비스 구축)

  • This study is a part of "Early Warning Service for Weather Risk Management in Climate-smart Agriculture", describes the delivery techniques from 840 catchment scale weather warning information using 150 counties unit special weather report(alarm, warning) released from KMA(Korea Meteorological Administration) and chronic weather warning information based on daily weather data from 76 synoptic stations. Catchment weather hazard warning service express a sequential risk index map generated by countries report occurs and report grade(alarm, warning) convert to catchment scale using zonal summarizing method. Additional services were chronic weather warning service at crop growth and accumulated more than 4 weeks, based on an unsuitable weather conditions, representing a relative risk compared to its catchment climatological normal conditions (normal distribution ) in addition to special weather report. Service provided by a real-time catchment scale map overlaid with VWORLD open platform operated by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Also provide a foundation for weather risk information to inform individual farmers to farm located within the catchment zone warning occur.

Risk Analysis using Failure Data in Railway E&M System

  • In recent, the railway system consists of subsystems as rolling stock and infrastructures as signaling, telecommunication, power supply, overhead contact and platform screen door, etc. Furthermore, each subsystem has complicated interface so as not to understand these relationship. Consequently, to operate the railway system continuously with required safety and availability, the failure data should be corrected and analyzed systematically during operation. To achieve this object effectively, this paper presents the method which is evaluating the operational risk quantitatively using failure data, and selecting the critical equipment. Following this analysis, the improvement plan is established and applied to reduce the operational risk on system or equipment. From this study, the critical equipments of system could be determined and prioritized by risk analysis. Also, the effective maintenance to prevent critical failure could be implanted by this suggested methodology.

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a software that manages and automate the internal processes of an organization. Process speed and quality can be increased, and cost reduced by process automation. Odoo is an open source ERP platform including more than 15000 apps. ERP systems such as Odoo are all-in-one management systems. Odoo can be suitable for small and medium organizations, but duo to efficiency limitations, Odoo is not suitable for the large ones. Furthermore, Odoo can be implemented on both local or public servers in which each has some advantages and disadvantages such as; the speed of internet, synced data or anywhere access. In many cases, there is a persistent need to have more than one synchronized Odoo instance in several physical places. We modified Odoo to support this kind of requirements and improve its efficiency by replacing its standard database with a distributed one, namely CockroachDB.

Smart Tourism Development in Small and Medium Cities: The Case of Macao

  • As a popular concept, smart tourism is widely used as a strategic tool to improve the competitiveness of world tourism destinations. Taking Macao as a case study, this research explores the relationship between government, academic research, and smart destination applications, with a view toward investigating the utilization of smart technology to achieve service innovation, effective communication with tourists, and enhance the travel experience. The study summarizes the current situation of smart tourism in Macao, finding that most of the smart services in Macao rely on users to obtain information spontaneously and do not achieve real interaction and service demand. Suggestions and advice for smart development are provided.

  • 모바일 애드 혹 네트워크의 제한된 자원과 다양한 토폴로지 변화 때문에 모바일 애드 혹 네트워크를 관리하고 QoS를 보장하기란 매우 어려운 일이다. 또한 현재까지 모바일 애드 혹 네트워크에서 QoS 보장에 대한 관심은 많지만, 그에 대한 연구는 아직까지 미비한 실정이며 주로 MAC 프로토콜과 라우팅 프로토콜에 집중되어 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 차등화 서비스(DiffServ) QoS 모델을 기반으로 하는 정책기반 망 관리 기술과 동적으로 네트워크의 기능을 확장할 수 있는 액티브 네트워크 기술을 이용하여 모바일 애드 혹 네트워크를 효율적으로 관리하고 QoS를 제공할 수 있는 프레임워크를 제안한다.
