태국 플라스틱 포장산업 현황에 관한 고찰 (Plastic Packaging Industry of Thailand)

  • 태국의 플라스틱 소비는 포장분야 49%, 직물 15%, 건설 11%, 전기전자가 10% 순으로 나타났다. 종사자는 106천명이며 공장생산 용량대비 실제 생산은 85%이고 식품포장용 플라스틱수지 수요는 월간 135천톤에 달한다. 업종별 제조사는 필름가공업체가 503개 공장으로 전체의 39%를 점하며 인젝션 몰딩 사가 231개로 18%, 블로우 몰딩 사가 216개사로 17% 순으로 나타났다. 주요 수지들의 생산은 PP는 총 1,950천톤을 생산하였으며, LDPE는 685천톤을 LLDPE는 1,150천톤을 생산하였고, HDPE는 1,920천톤을 생산한 것으로 나타났다. 플라스틱 수입은 16,668백만 바트였고 수출은 33,778백만 바트로 수출액이 2배 이상 높은 것으로 나타났다.

종이 기반과 플라스틱 기반 보건마스크 패키징의 환경영향 비교 (Comparison of Environmental Evaluation for Paper and Plastic Based Mask Packaging)

  • In this study, environmental evaluation of high barrier coated paper (coating layer/paper) packaging is conducted in comparison with conventional aluminum laminated (PET/VMPET/LLDPE) plastic packaging. The target product for this packaging is a KF94 mask, which requires a high barrier of water and oxygen to maintain the filtration ability of the mask filter. The functional unit of this study is 10,000 mask packaging materials based on a material capable of blocking oxygen (<1 g/m2day) and moisture (<3 g/m2day) for the preservation of KF94 masks. In order to understand the results easily, paper-based mask packaging system divided into 6 stages (pulp, pulping & paper making, calendaring & coating, printing, packing and waste management), while plastic-based mask packaging consists of 5 stages (material production, processing, printing, packing, waste management) In case of paper-based mask packaging, most contributing stage is calendaring & coating, resulting from heat and electricity production. On the other hand, plastic-based mask packaging is contributed more than 30% by material production, specifically due to linear low density polyethylene and purified terephthalic acid production. The comparison results show that global warming potential of paper-based mask packaging has 32% lower than that of plastic-based mask packaging. Most of other impact indicators revealed in similar trend.

전자레인지 조리 식품 용기의 용출 특성 비교 (Comparison of extracted amounts and patterns of microwavable ready-to-meal plastic packaging materials)

  • Increasing use of plastics in food packaging materials has led to the issue of food-plastic packaging materials mutual interactions. Rapid development of new microwavable ready-to-meal products requires suitable plastic packaging materials for safe heating with the contained food. However, data is still required to diminish consumers' safety concern about ready to meal packaging materials. Amounts and patterns of extracted materials from the ready-to-meal packaging materials of Korea and Japan by heat treatments ($120^{\circ}C$ for 30 min.) was investigated and compared by using Gas chromatography. Total peak number of extracted materials from Korea packaging materials was six while that of extracted materials from Japan's was only two. Moreover, the extracted amounts of packaging materials from Korea company was much higher than those of Japan's. Additional research is needed to justify the reason why extracted materials from packaging materials from Korea be much more occurred, and how the amounts from Korea packaging materials can be reduced.

해외 패키징 산업현황과 방향 (Current Status and Trends of Overseas Packaging Industries)

  • This paper introduces the current status of total overseas packaging industries. The total market of the world packaging industry reached over 500 billion dollars in 2002. The top nations for the packaging industry were U.S. at about 27 percent, the countries of Western Europe at about 27%, Japan at about 14%. In terms of packaging materials, the overall market rate for paper, plastics, and metal parts in world packaging industry was 84%. Also, the market rate of glass, packaging machine, and others was only 5-6%. Among EU nations, Germany showed largest packaging consumption of 23 percent in 2000, and consumed about 17,125,814 ton of packaging materials yearly. For paper and paperboard cartons, the percentage used for the packaging consumption was about 39.4%. The consumption rate of plastic and glass packaging was approximately 14.6% and 23.7% respectively. For metal packaging the consumption rate was about 5.9%. In Japan, the production rate of packaging materials was decreased slowly at paper, metal, glass, and wood areas, but plastic packaging showed a constant rate of growth. In China, total production of packaging industry amounted to about 33.7 billion in 2003. The paper packaging in china was a remarkable production rate of 32%. The production rate of plastic and printing packaging was 28% and 20% respectively. The rate of packaging industry for printing in China was much higher than that in other countries.

저장 조건에서의 플라스틱 포장재와 지방산의 전이도 측정 (Migration Behavior of Fatty Materials into the Selected Plastic Film During Storage)

  • Increasing use of plastics in food packaging materials has led to the issue of food-plastic packaging materials's mutual interactions. Although the plastic packaging materials are generally considered as inert, migration and sorption of fatty materials are some of the problems associated with their use. So, this work investigated the compatibility of three structurally different polymers, polypropylene (PP), polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) with some structurally different food fats. The main goal was to study the sorption of food fats by the plastic films and to see what extent mechanical properties of the plastic films was affected by plasticization effect due to sorption of fatty materials. PP, PET, and EVOH films was immersed in pure triglycerides, and then extracted with hexane and analyzed for the amounts of fat migrated. The sorbed films were also investigated for change in mechanical properties. Result showed that structural factor of the films and fatty materials plays important role in th migration process. The fat with the simplest structure are migrated more easily that the fat with more complex structure. However, structural effect of migration was varied according to degree of crystallinity and density of plastic films. In addition to that, polarity of plastic film was affected migration of fatty materials significantly. Additional research is needed to justify the reason why migration of fatty materials into the films was affected by polarity and structural integrity.

한국의 플라스틱포장재의 재활용 기술 동향 (Recycling Facts and Technical Trends of Plastic Packaging Materials in Korea)

  • 플라스틱 포장재는 소비자들이 생각하는 것보다 환경에 미치는 영향이 적으나 플라스틱 제조업체들에게는 플라스틱 폐기물을 위한 재활용시장을 어떻게 활용화하는가는 매우 중요하다. 이것을 위하여 정부는 충분한 규모의 재활용시장을 키워나갈 수 있도록 MRF 등 각종 설비를 지원해야 하며 성공적인 재활용정책을 개발해야 한다. 경제적이고 다양한 재활용기술이 소개되고 있지만 이것은 반드시 잘 정비된 재활용정책이 우선되어야 성공할 수 있다.

플라스틱 포장재의 잔존 인쇄 용제 감소 방안 (Study about decreasing methods of printing ink solvents residue amounts on plastic food package materials)

  • Amount of residual ink solvent on the packaging materials from Korea, Japan and Europe was measured and compared. The amount of packaging materials from Korea was much higher than that of Japan and Europe. To reduce the residual amounts of ink solvent, aging condition of printed packaging materials including aging time and temperature was modified and evaluated. Aging with high temperature and short time ($60^{\circ}C$ and 24 hours) was more effective for reduction of residual amount of ink solvent than that with low temperature and long time. To find out change of reduction pattern of residual amount of solvent according to plastic packaging material, several monolayer and multilayer packaging materials were selected. Among the monolayer packaging materials, the amount of EVOH and PET was lower than that of polyolefin plastic film including PE and PP. PP/EVOH/PET among the selected multilayer film showed the lowest amount of residual ink solvent on food packaging materials. Result of this research revealed that the residual amount of ink solvent can be reduced by proper selection of aging condition with and by appropriate application of mutilayer plastic film.

포장방법에 따른 한국형 우육 및 돈육 육포의 저장중 품질 특성 (Effects of Packaging Methods on the Quality of Korean style Beef and Pork Jerky During storage)

  • 포장 방법을 달리한 한국형 육포의 저장 중 품질변화를 조사하여 육포의 품질관리에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 간장 우육 육포와 고추장 돈육 육포를 제조하여 상온에서 90일간 저장하면서 시료를 분석하였다. pH는 일반포장과 진공포장 간에 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 저장기간이 경과함에 따라서는 감소하는 추세를 나타냈다. 수분활성도는 모든 처리구에서 진공포장이 일반포장에 비해 유의적으로 높았으며, 일반포장의 경우 수분활성도가 급격히 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. TBA수치와 경도는 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 증가하였고, 육포의 총균수도 일반포장과 비교하여 진공포장이 적은 총균수를 나타내었다. 한국형 육포의 관능검사 결과는 저장기간이 경과함에 따라 대체적으로 포장방법별로 진공포장이 일반포장과 비교하여 높은 점수를 받았지만 유의적인 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 진공포장에 비해 일반포장은 공기를 포함하기 때문에 지방산패에 의한 산패취가 발생할 수 있고 수분증발로 인한 식감의 저하가 문제될 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 육포의 일정한 품질을 유지하기 위해서는 일반포장 보다는 진공포장으로 유통하는 것이 육포의 저장 중 유통안전성을 확보하는데 유리할 것으로 사료된다.
