Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the experience of emotional labor of clinical nurses in medical institutes. Methods: A total of 26 nurses from 11 hospitals participated in the study. Six focus groups were organized and 4 to 5 nurses took part in each group. The compositional factors of groups included clinical experience, age, gender, work place and position. Data collection was conducted through focus group interview and it was proceeded by the time of data saturation. In this qualitative study, content analysis was conducted. Results: Five themes, 14 categories, and 33 subcategories, were emerged. The themes were 'Restrain themselves', 'Communion to the patients', 'Working environment provoking emotional tension', 'Respond to emotional events', 'Recovery of emotional energy'. Conclusion: Results indicated that surface acting of emotional labor such as, repression of personal desire and presenting the emotions that the organization ask nurse to express was related to psychosomatic symptoms, depression, burnout, poor job performance, increased mistakes, and low job satisfaction which eventually leads to nurses' turnover. In order to reduce negative influence of emotional labor, it is necessary to build positive organizational culture, to provide support from managers and co-workers. It is also important to improve work environment in order to do more deep acting since sharing emotions with patients can reduce the negative influence of emotional labor.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality of life related to fall experiences in chronic stroke patients. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included 117 patients with stroke from 3 hospitals in D metropolitan city. General characteristics, including fall experiences and quality of life, were assessed through a face-to-face interviews conducted in a quiet place using a questionnaire. Measurement of quality of life in stroke patients was conducted using the Korean Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL). To identify the SS-QOL items related to fall experiences, the items of the SS-QOL were considered as independent variables, and the variables that were significantly different according to fall experiences were identified using a univariate analysis. A binary logistic regression was then performed using fall experiences as the independent variable. RESULTS: According to the univariate analysis, self help activities, social role, and upper extremity function were significantly lower in the fall group than that in the non-fall group (p<.05). The findings of the binary logistic regression confirmed that social roles and upper extremity function were the SS-QOL items that were related to fall experience in chronic stroke patients. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that social roles and upper extremity function may be risk factors for fall experience in patients with chronic stroke.

This research investigates on relationships between game experience and its positive effects by using social self-efficacy measurement. When playing MMORPG, game users communicate with each other and go through various social experiences. Thus, online game offer a virtual place where we can have social interactions and it eventually expands our daily life. In this study, we used regression analysis to explore how online game experiences influence social self-efficacy. The results indicated that a group with higher frequency game use presented higher social self-efficacy. We suggest future researches and discussions focusing on the positive effects of game use rather than negative issues and game restrictions.

Descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation and a paired t-test were used for the analysis of the data. Results are as follows: First, most of the high school girls (82.2%) had experience of purchasing fashion products at online shopping malls. And, those who have purchasing experience at online shopping malls, compared to those who do not have such purchasing experience, showed a higher purchasing intension at online shopping malls. Second, both the degree of pre-purchase searching and ongoing searching was higher in online shopping than in offline shopping. Third, the quality of material, place produced, brand name, and store atmosphere/type were considered more in offline shopping than in online shopping. Shopping convenience and information service about the products were considered more in online shopping than in offline shopping. Fourth, the purchasing frequency of underwear and hair accessaries was higher at offline stores than online shopping malls, but the purchasing frequency of bags was higher in online stores than offline stores. It seems to be difficult to bridge between human and nature. All depictions of nature are not necessarily reflections of reality. Thoughts are projected into nature, then nature will reflect us. The world is composed of natural and cultural environment. There are differences between depiction of nature based on correspondence and construction of world. Environmental aesthetics is an emerging field of study that focuses on nature's aesthetic value as well as on its ethical and environmental implications. Allen Carlson, a pioneer in environmental aesthetics, provides challenges as well as a wealth of resources for those who would appropriate his ideas in the service of environmental protection. Carlson's positive aesthetics, his focus on the functionality of human environments, and his integration of aesthetics and ethics have great import for those seeking to use aesthetics to assist in addressing environmental controversies. Environmental ethics would benefit from taking environmental aesthetics more seriously. Environmental aesthetics is an emerging discipline that explores the meaning and influence of environmental perception and experience on human life. Arguing for the idea that environment is not merely a setting for people but fully integrated and continuous with us, Arnold Berleant explores the aesthetic dimensions of the human-environment continuum in both theoretical terms and concrete situations. Aesthetic experience is always contextual. The aesthetic aspect of any human habitat is an essential part of its desirability. The aesthetic perception of environment shows us the reciprocity that constitutes both person and place. The genuine beauty lies in the coexistence and harmony with natural environment.
