피치 제어를 이용한 계통연계 풍력발전 시스템의 최대출력 제어 (The control of maximum power output for a grid-connected wind turbine system by using pitch control method)

  • This study is for the pitch control of blade, used in most horizontal-axis wind turbine systems, to sustain the maximum power output supplied to grid. The control of a blade can be divided into a stall regulation and a pitch control methods. The stall regulation method using an aerodynamic stall is simple and cheap, but it suffers from fluctuation of the resulting power. Pitch control method is mechanically and mathematically complicated, but the control performance is better than that of the stall regulation method. In this paper 2.5MW MOD-2 wind turbine system is adopted to be controlled by a pitch controller with PI method. The simulation performed by MA TLAB will show the variation of frequency, generator output, and pitch angle.

  • The dynamic response of a multi-MW wind turbine to a sudden change in wind speed is usually slow, because of the slow pitch control system. This could cause a large excursion of the rotor speed and an output power over the rated. A feedforward pitch control can be applied to minimize the fluctuations of these parameters. This paper introduces the complete design steps for a feedforward pitch controller, which consist of three stages, i.e. the aerodynamic torque estimation, the 3-dimensional lookup table for the wind seed estimation, and the calculation of the feedforward pitch amount. The effectiveness of the feedforward control is verified through numerical simulations of a multi-MW wind turbine.

Simulation for Pitch Angle Control Strategies of a Grid-Connected Wind Turbine System on MATLAB/Simulink

  • This paper presents a pitch angle controller of a grid-connected wind turbine system for extracting maximum power from wind and implements a modeling and simulation of the wind turbine system on MATLAB/Simulink. It discusses the maximum power control algorithm for the wind turbine and presents, in a graphical form, the relationship of wind turbine output, rotor speed, and power coefficient with wind speed when the wind turbine is operated under the maximum power control algorithm. The objective of pitch angle control is to extract maximum power from wind and is achieved by regulating the blade pitch angle during above-rated wind speeds in order to bypass excessive energy in the wind. Case studies demonstrate that the pitch angle control is carried out to achieve maximum power extraction during above-rated wind speeds and effectiveness of the proposed controller would be satisfactory.

  • Modem version of supersonic jet fighter aircraft must have been guaranteed appropriate controllability and stability in HAoA(High Angle of Attack). Limit value of aircraft entering into the departure in HAoA is related to aircraft configuration design. But, the control law such as AoA and yaw-rate limiter is implemented in digital Fly-By-Wire flight control system of supersonic jet fighter to guarantee the aircraft's safety in HAoA. The HAoA flight control law have two parts, one is control law of departure prevention and the other is control law of departure recovery support. The control laws of departure prevention for advanced jet trainer consist AoA limiter, roll command limiter and rudder fader. The control laws of departure recovery support are consist yaw-rate limiter and MPO(Manual Pitch Override) mode. The guideline of pitch rocking using MPO mode is simple, but operating skill of pitch rocking is very difficult by the pilot with inexperience of departure situation. This paper addresses the design and validation of APR(Automatic Pitch Rocker) control law instead of MPO in order to automatic recovery without manual pitch rocking by the pilot. And, recovery characteristic with APR verifies by the nonlinear analysis and pilot evaluation.

풍력 터빈 시스템의 강인 피치 제어 (A Robust Pitch Control of Wind Turbine Systems)

  • In this paper, we consider variable speed wind turbine systems containing uncertain elements. Though PI controller is generally used for pitch control, it cannot guarantee a stability and performance of the complicated wind turbine systems. A robust pitch control scheme is proposed to regulate the electric power output above the rated wind speed. The pitch controller is designed in order to guarantee uniform boundedness and uniform ultimate boundedness based on the bound values of the set where the uncertainties are laid or moves. In order to verify the proposed control scheme, we present stability analysis and simulation results using Matlab/Simulink.

  • 풍력터빈 블레이드의 가변 피치제어는 풍력발전기의 과풍속 영역 설계에 있어 중요한 요소로 알려져 있으나 원가문제 때문에 소형 풍력터빈에는 적용되지 못하고 실속제어가 많이 적용되고 있다. 하지만, 블레이드 주변의 난류 때문에 설계된 실속이 구현되지 않는 실속지연 현상이 종종 발생되고, 이에 따른 풍력 블레이드의 과회전과 발전기의 과출력 위험이 발생하고 있다. 이에 따라 블레이드에서 발생되는 공력으로 피치가 변하고 스프링의 복원력으로 복귀되는 수동형 피치제어 모듈이 주목 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 회전하는 블레이드의 익형에서 발생되는 양력과 항력을 이용하여 회전면으로 작용되는 토크와 블레이드의 Flap 방향으로 작용되는 추력을 계산하는 방법을 제시하고, 이러한 힘들의 크기를 여러 가지 익형에 대해 비교하였으며, 블레이드의 피치모멘트를 정량적으로 산출하여 수동 피치제어 모듈의 설계자료로 활용될 수 있도록 하였다.

  • 자기부상 수동형 이송 시스템이란 이송자에 부상, 안내, 추진과 관련된 전원장치가 없어 고청정, 무분진이 요구되는 환경에서 사용 가능한 시스템으로써 대면적 디스플레이 공정산업, 반도체 이송장비 등에 활용가능하다. 이 시스템은 이송 대상물의 안정적 운반을 위하여 이송자의 정밀한 자세 제어가 필요하다. 하지만 이송자의 구조적 특징 및 공극 센서 설치 오차에 의해 이송자의 피치운동이 발생하며 이를 해결하기 위한 제어기 설계가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 자기부상 수동형 이송 시스템의 이송자 피치 운동을 감소시키는 제어에 목적이 있다. 이를 수행하기 위하여 해석적으로는 PDA 제어 모델과 피치제어를 추가한 제어 모델의 피치 각도를 비교한다. 실험적으로는 제어기 변경이 이송자의 피치 각도 및 부상 정밀도에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 이러한 제어기 설계 변경이 피치 운동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 부상 정밀도 향상을 위한 방법을 제시한다.

The Role of the Cricopharyngeus Muscle in Pitch Control - Electromyographic and radiographic studies

  • Electromyographic studies of the cricopharyngeus muscle using hooked wire electrodes were performed in thyroidectomized patients. The shape of the cricoid cartilage and soft tissue thickness in the postcricoid area were evaluated during pitch elevation and pitch lowering using conventional neck lateral films. The cricopharyngeus muscle simultaneously activated in the initial task of speech and continuously activated. Its activity lessened in the interrogative stress contrast of sentence terminals and increased in the pitch lowered contrast of sentence terminal. On the radiologic findings the cricoid cartilage was tilted backward during high pitched phonation and tilted forward during low pitched phonation. The soft tissue thickness of postcricoid area was thicker at the low pitch than at high pitch. At low pitch the cricoid cartilage paralleled along the vertebral column. This result suggests that the bulging of cricopharyngeus muscle in contraction induce a thickened the postcricoid area thickened, and exert pressure anteriorly exerted on the cricoid cartilage. This contraction of the cricopharyngeus muscle may result in shortening the vocal fold and lowering pitch.

  • 무궁화 위성체는 10년 수명기간 동안 통신 및 직접방송 위성서비스에 필요한 빔의 지향성을 유지하기 위하여 정확하고 신뢰성있는 자세제어 시스팀을 요구하고 있다. 본고에서는 무궁화 위성체가 정지궤도에서 정상운용모드로 동작하는데 요구되는 자세제어부속시스팀에 대한 상세설계기법 및 성능에 대해서 기술하고자 한다.

  • The paper presents a speed control algorithm for a full pitch-controlled wind turbine system. Torque of a blade generated by wind energy is non-linear function of a wind speed, angular velocity, and pitch angle of the blade. The design of a cor_troller, in general, is performed by linearizing the torque in the vicinity of a operating point assuming the angular velocity of the blade is constant. For speed control, however, the angular velocity is no longer a constant, so that linearization of the torque in terms of a wind speed and pitch angle is impossible. In this study, a reference pitch model is derived in terms of a wind speed, angular velocity, and pitch angle, which makes it possible to design a controller without linearizing the non-linear torque model of the blade. The validity of the algorithm is demonstrated with the results produced through sets of experiments.
